  • The HDM(Hole Drilling Method) is a relatively simple and accurate method in measuring residual stress of welded metal. Various methods of evaluating residual stress are studied in welding field. The method of cutting holes on the plate much affects the accuracy of result. Especially for the hard material like stainless steel difficult to cut preciously is difficult to measure residual stress on welded metal. Because heat conduction of stainless steel is lower than other general steel, the magnitude of residual stress might be different as to changing of welding conditions. Therefore, The distribution of residual stress on the STS304 steel after welding using HDM is evaluated in this paper.

Development of Plate-type Fine Atomizing Nozzles for SI Engines with Intake-port Fuel Injection

  • This paper presents both experimental and numerical studies regarding nozzles used for the SI engine application, particularly for the intake-port fuel injection type. The atomization mechanism of the multi-hole plate nozzle was investigated experimentally. It was found that the nozzle design added turbulence into the liquid-film jet and the jet disintegrated rapidly. Based on the results, various plate types for the nozzle were developed and tested; six hole nozzle for liquid jet interaction, plate-type nozzle with flat duct channel, and the simpler structured nozzle. The spray characteristics of the prototype nozzles were examined experimentally while the internal flow of the nozzle was investigated computationally. It was shown that turbulent liquid-film was injected and atomization quality was improved by controlling the internal flow condition of the plate-type nozzle.

  • 볼로미터 제작 공정 중 One step via 공정 시 via hole 모양에 의해 정기적 연결 및 구조적 안정성에 문제를 해결하기 위하여 다른 via 식각 방식으로 공정을 진행하였으며 그에 따른 via 공정 차이에 대한 결과를 연구하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 관통형 고주파 노이즈 필터(noise filter)를 설계하고, 제작하였다. 분포정수형(distributed constant type) 노이즈 필터는 세라믹 다층 구조(multi-layer)를 가지며, 기존의 노이즈 억압 방법인 칩 페라이트 비드, 3단자 커패시터 그리고 집중 정수형(lumped constant type) 노이즈 필터에 비해 신호의 왜곡이 적고, 고주파 노이즈 억압특성이 우수하다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 분포정수형 노이즈 필터에 관통형 via-hole을 삽입하는 새로운 구조를 제안하였다. 제작된 노이즈 필터는 100MHz의 차단 주파수, 700MHz~1700MHz에서 20㏈이상의 감쇠 특성을 나타내었다. 또한, 기존의 노이즈 필터의 단점인 방향성 덴 공정에 대한 민감도를 개선시킴으로써 양산성이 향상되었다.

Experimental Study on the Mean Flow Characteristics of Forward-Curved Centrifugal Fans

  • Measurements have been made in an automotive HVAC b1ower for two different centrifugal fans. This work is directed at improving the performance of a conventional forward-curved centrifugal fan for a given small blower casing. Mean velocities and pressure have been measured using a miniature five-hole probe and a pressure scanning unit connected to an online data acquisition system. First, we obtained the fan performance versus flow rates showing a significant attenuation of unstable nature achieved with the new fan rotor in the surging operation range. Second, aerodynamic characterizations were carried out by investigating the velocity and pressure fields in the casing flow passage for different fan operating conditions. The measurements stowed that performance coefficients are strongly influenced by flow characteristics at the throat region. The main flow features ware common in both fans, but improved performance is achieved with tole new fan rotor, particularly in lower flow rate legions. Based on the measured results, design improvements were carried out in an acceptable operation range, which gave considerable insight into what features of flow behavior ware most important.

  • Materials of the Frame hole in fishing trackle reel is made up a number large and small holes. Thus, it is difficult to effective machining. Abrasive flow machining(AFM) is useful to polish a internal or external surface of the 3-dimensional shape parts, which are used in many fields such as aerospace, automative, semi-conductor, and medical component industries. The machining process is that two hydraulic cylinders, which are located face to face, enforce abrasive media to the passage between workpiece and tooling parts alternately, and then the abrasives include in the media pass the passage and polish the surface of workpiece. The media which is made of polymer and abrasives plays the role of the tool for deburring or polishing complex shap workpiece by its viscoelastic characteristics. In this study, the abrasive media for abrasive flow machining was made by mixing viscielastic polymer with alunina and silicon carbide abrasive. Also, we present AFM device design and preliminary results of an investigation in to some aspects of the AFM process performance in fishing trackle reel.

SHB을 고려한 λ/4-shifted 3전극 가변파장 DFB-LD의 dc 특성 모델링 (The modeling for dc of a λ/4-shifted tunable three section DFB-LD characteristics considering spatial hole burning)

  • There is a considerable interest in tunable DFB-LD for their use in OFDM and coherent optical communications. In this paper, A modeling of ${\lambda}/4$-shifted tunable wavelength three electrode DFB-LD was performed considering the spatial hole burning within a laser diode cavity. The modeling will show design paramenters' requirement for high-speed and broad bandwidth lasers. The simulations of modeling prove that the continuous tuning range is about 3nm and the SMSR is about several dB. We showed that the optical power and carrier density distribution along z for several dc current with SHB. It was shown that prove that optical power and carrier density along cavity are changed and thismeans that modeling is correct.

탄성유체윤활에서 작동하는 커넥팅 로드 베어링의 윤활막 거동에 관한 수치적 연구 (Numerical Analysis on the Oil Film Behaviors of Connecting Rod Bearings Based on the Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication)

  • The purpose of this paper is analyzing the oil film pressure distribution and the minimum oil film thickness for a connecting rod bearing using an A VL's EXCITE program. It is very important to understand optimized oil supplying holes and oil groove dimensions for supporting sufficiently inertia forces and gas pressures from the combustion chamber for a Diesel engine. The computed results indicate that the optimized oil groove width of a bearing and oil hole of a journal are recommended for high performance of a connecting rod bearing at the elastohydrodynamic lubrication zone. These results as design parameters are very useful data for a bearing designer as a firm reference of an automotive engine.

  • Impedance control is recognised as one of the most proper control scheme to carry out the assembly tasks, since it can control the dynamic relationship between the manipulator and environment directly. However, it is well known that the contact force cannot be controlled directly using the impedance control. Also impedance parameters should be properly defined depending on the task to be performed. We propose a new position based impedance control, which has self-adjusted impedance parameters and can control the contact force explicitly, Impedance parameters, as time-varying parameters, are adjusted automatically based on the measured contact force and the position error during the task. A proposed algorithm was implemented on the peg-in-hole task with the industrial manipulator. We shows the effectiveness of proposed control method experimentally.

원자로 압력 및 체적제어계통의 다단 오리피스 설계 (Design of Multistage Orifices for PIC System in Nuclear Reactor)

  • 다공 및 다단오리피스열을 해석할 수 컴퓨터코드를 사용하여 원자력발전소 내 공급 및 배출장치의 수축오리피스를 설계하였다. 원래 단공 오리피스가 설치되었으나 다공 오리피스 설치가 필요하여 설계 변경되었다. 오리피스 사이 거리는 충분한 압력회복거리로 유지되었다. 최소 정압은 공동현상 방지를 위하여 그 온도에 상응하는 증기압 이하로 유지되도록 설계하였다. 오리피스 설치 배관의 직경은 운전시 강성을 유지할 수 있도록 원래 크기보다 증가시켰다.
