  • In order to overcome the difficulties of programming education for beginners, various research strategies such as UMC(Use-Modify-Create), design based learning, discovery learning and play learning are applied. In this study, we developed a HVC(History-VR Coding-Collaboration) learning strategy model for the improvement of learner's computational thinking. The HVC model is composed of a combination module of block type. We developed a 12th session storytelling - based virtual reality programming curriculum. As a result, HVC model and SW education program showed significant difference in improvement of learner's computational thinking.

  • "Ohju Yeonmun Jangjeon Sango" written by Lee, Gyu-gyeng is one of the most important encyclopedias in the period of Chosun-Dynasty. There are two chapters related to architecture in this book, one is "ancestral rite governance·human"chapter, and the other is "architecture·human" chapter. Both of them are hard to understand because they are written in ancient Chinese and consist of various quotations in ambiguous way. This paper as a partial study is deal with the former. It makes difference between writter's original texts and quotations through textual research, and translates to modern Korean, and analyze information about ancient architecture in texts. The texts can divide to three sections. The first introduces three Chinese architectural theory books as "Gogonggi(考工記)", "Yeongjo Beopsik(營造法式)" and "Mokgyeng(木經)", and mentions about the prototype of the royal ancestral ritual building in "Gogonggi Toju(考工記圖注)". The second quotes "Seoyeong(書影)" to introduce "Yeongjo Beopsik". The third quotes "PaePyeon(稗編)" to introduce "Yeongjo Beopsik" and "Mokgyeng", and mentions about the counting unit of columns of the royal ancestral ritual building. Although the purpose for these quotations is not directly mentioned, but we can find it is intended to explain the architectural prototype and lay-out of the royal ancestral ritual building.

  • Mathematical biology has been recognized its importance recently and widely studied in the fields of mathematics, biology, medical sciences, and immunology. Mathematical ecology is an academic field that studies how populations of biological species change as times flows at specific locations in their habitats. It was the earliest form of the research field of mathematical biology and has been providing its basis. This article deals with various form of interactions between two biological species in a common habitat. Mathematical models of predator-prey type, competitive type, and simbiotic type are investigated.

  • This study examines on the structural Methods between purlin and beam at Wooden Architecture in Joseon Dynasty($1372{\sim}1910$). Through the investigation, it is verified that the structural methods between purlin and beam is the technique utilizing tenon joint(통장부맞춤), Sungeoteok joint(숭어턱맞춤), dovetailed tenon joint(주먹장맞춤). And the methods of tenon joint is followed by the Sungeoteok joint, which is used in the buildings after middle Joseon dynasty. The method of tenon joint(통장부맞춤) is to connect the beam with the purlin by carving out the head of the beam as '一' shape. And the structural methods between Janghyeo(장혀, timber under purlin) and beam is halved joint(반턱맞춤) and tenon joint (통장부맞춤). The buildings in late Goryeo Dynasty and Joseon Dynasty adopted the method of tenon joint between purlin and beam. The method of Sungeoteok joint is to connect the beam with the purlins by carving out the head of the beams '凸' shape. And the structural methods between Janghyeo and beams is halved joint(반턱맞춤) and tenon joint(통장부맞춤), the method of tenon and step joint(통장부턱맞춤), dovetailed joint between beam and Janghyeo to increase the security of shear force.

  • The purpose of this research is to investigate Korean architects' perception of the Modern Movement in architecture in the West during the Japanese colonial period, by analyzing two Korean publications in the 1930s: Park Dongjin's 'Present Architectural Tendency' (Dong-A Ilbo, March 1931) and Hong Yunsick's 'Trend in the Thought of Moderne Baukunst' (Chogwang, September 1937). As a result of the investigation, it is confirmed that the two men welcomely accepted the universal modernity, regarding the rational and functional - rather than subjective expressions of the individual - as the key to modern architecture. Although their perception of the Modern Movement in Western architecture was inevitably superficial due to the limited condition of the Japanese colonial period in Korea, there was an obvious advancement in the latter's perception from the former's, reflecting the progress in knowledge of it over the six and a half years between the two. Therefore, it is argued that their 1930s' writings are meaningful as the first Korean publications that illustrate how Korean architectural circles perceived the contemporary architectural movement in the West.

  • The study aims to analyze the geometric characteristics of the pointed arches proposed by Al-Kāshī in his book "Miftāḥ al-Ḥisāb" (Key of Arithmetic) and investigate their planning principles, architectural application, and typological characteristics. Al-Kāshī completed this significant work in 1427 and dedicated it to Ulugh Beg, a Timurid Sultan in Samarkand. In the ninth chapter, titled "Al-'Imārāt wa al-Abnīya" (Amīr's Mansion and Building), Al-Kāshī sought to measure the surface areas and volumes of barrel vaults (Azaj) and domes (Qubba). To achieve this, he proposed five kinds of pointed arches (Ṭāq) and analyzed their drawing methods and composition principles. The Īwān and Qubba structures, which are curved architectural elements, hold significant importance in Islamic architecture. However, previous research has predominantly focused on comparing the drawings in Al-Kāshī's book with historical buildings, neglecting the inherent characteristics of the drawings themselves. This study intends to contribute to a deeper understanding of Al-Kāshī's remarkable work and shed light on the geometric aspects of monumental structures in the Timurid Period.

  • The present study examines the connections and effects of these historical events on South Korea's education system. The research seeks to illuminate private education's complex history and the complex factors that have shaped it by examining these historical trajectories. After the Korean War in the mid-20th century, South Korea went from agrarian to industrial, which shaped private education. Unparalleled economic growth in the 1960s and 1980s altered schooling. South Korea quickly became an industrial powerhouse, and education became crucial for families seeking socioeconomic advancement. The growing middle class, believing education was the key to prosperity, demanded more extra education. South Korean private education's fourth major event occurred during the socioeconomic upheavals of the 1960s-1980s. Prior studies explain how the fast transition from agrarian to industrial society made schooling essential for families seeking upward mobility. Due to the demand for extra education, private tutoring and specialist hagwons flourished. In summary, this study insists that the effects of historical events on South Korean private education demonstrate the interconnection of cultural, economic, and sociological aspects. Educational practitioners must comprehend the historical backdrop, recognize the lasting impact of past events, and use literature-based tools to navigate this complex landscape.

  • In the 1990s, South Korea recently launched Space Development and is pushing for a step toward Space. In the Space Launch Vehicle field, the development of Practical satellite type Launch Vehicle (Korea Space Launch Vehicle II) has progressed to the stage of proprietary development, and in the field of Satellite development, they also have a great deal of competitiveness. This study will be a shortcut to rediscovering our potential and looking for breakthroughs by reviewing and re-examining the effects of past Space development.

  • A 3-month-old, 2.8 kg, female Cocker spaniel was presented with chronic history of dysphagia since weaning. Video fluoroscopic examination revealed swallowing problems in the upper esophageal sphincters. It was diagnosed as cricopharyngeal achalasia. Cricopharyngeal and thyropharyngeal myectomy was performed. One day after surgical management, normal swallowing movement was observed in the video fluoroscopic examination of the dog. There was no evidence of recurrence for 15 months.
