This book is unique in that acupuncturist Hur Im, who practiced in the mid-chosen era, had written about clinical experiences throughout the author's life. It features simplicity and practicality. The book has had tremendous effect in the field of acupuncture at the end of chosen era and it was also published both in China and in Japan with much appraisal.

This paper deals with the relationship between the order structure and topological structure in the historical point of view. We first investigate how the order structure has developed along with the set theory and logic in the second half of the nineteenth century. After the general topology has emerged in the beginning of the twentieth century, two disciplines of the order theory and topology give each other a great deal of effect for their development via various dualities, compactifications by maximal filter spaces and Alexandroff's specialization order, which form eventually a fundamental setting for the development of the category theory or functor theory.

We propose a stochastic delay financial model which describes influences driven by historical events. The underlying is modeled by stochastic delay differential equation (SDDE), and the delay effect is modeled by a stopping time in coefficient functions. While this model makes good economical sense, it is difficult to mathematically deal with this. Therefore, we circumvent this model with similar delay effects but mathematically more tractable, which is by the backward time integration. We derive the option pricing equation and provide the option price and the perfect hedging portfolio.

The movie costumes, artistic and figurative, serve to maximize the dramatic conveying effect of the movie's theme, actor's character, and the image of a dramatic situation expressed through clothing. It is considered that research would be meaningful if it studied on how the movie costumes are implied with symbols in order to present a dramatic image depending on the situation. Therefore this research compared, analyzed, and interpreted the historical plays produced on historical backgrounds, "The Sword With No Name" and 'Elizabeth - Golden Age'. In other words, five dramatic situations were extracted in order to compare and analyze the costumes of Empress Myeongseong to the costumes of Queen Elizabeth. The costumes presented according to the storyline and the personalities of the two characters with these five as the basis are compared and analyzed, and the implied symbolic meaning could be interpreted and analogized based on the results. Therefore it is suggested that symbolic meaning, along with the expression of the dramatic atmosphere, needs to be implied in the design of the movie costumes.

본 연구는 고등학교 수학에서 지도되고 있는 로그의 교수-학습 방법에 대한 새로운 관점과 방법을 고찰해보고 이를 통해 학교수학의 로그 지도에 대한 시사점을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 로그의 역사적 배경을 John Napier, 17세기 과학에 대한 로그의 영향, 그리고 로그계산자와 로그계산 방법을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 이런 배경과 함께 로그의 교수-학습 방법에 대한 고찰에서는 함수 개념을 이용한 로그의 도입, 상용로그를 이용한 로그계산, 밑의 변환 공식에 대해서 고찰하였다. 이런 역사적, 교수방법적 고찰을 통하여 학교수학에서 로그 지도에 대한 여섯 가지 시사점을 제시하였다.

This paper aimed at investigating into the origin and meaning of the Japanese architect Terunobu Fujimori's 'piercing column', and drew a conclusion as follows. First, the piercing column that made its first appearance in his architect debut work Jinchokan Moriya Historical Museum (1991) was conceived unexpectedly from pencil lines on a sketch that went through over the building's roof. And the tree-like natural treatment of the column's surface was influenced by Takamasa Yoshizaka's description of a Mongolian mud-house. Second, most of piercing columns in his later works have nothing to do with a structural role as in Jinchokan, but were designed for a visual effect and as a symbolic gesture. Again, they allude to a tree in nature through a roughly peeling treatment of the surface. Third, considering his ideas in History of Humankind and Architecture (2005), his column could be related to a universal origin of architecture and a symbol of the sun-god faith, and in particular to independent columns of Japanese Shito shrines, such as 'Onbashira' in Suwa and 'Iwanebashira' in Izumo. That is to say, the Fujimori column is a medium that implies the animistic nature-faith of Japan. Nevertheless, Fujimori's naturalism hints at a disquieting quality through an intentional artificiality and a provocative conflict between structure and finish of a building, which might be one aspect of the modern condition, 'uncanny'.

In the equilibrium theory of tides by Newton, tide on the Earth is a phenomenon driven by differential gravity contributed both by the Sun and the Moon. Due to the direct link of the generic tidal effect to the oceanic tides, college students in the earth science education department are exposed to this theory through oceanography lectures as well as astronomy lectures. Common oceanography textbooks adopt a non-inertial reference frame fixed to the Earth in which the fictitious, centrifugal force appears. This has a potential risk to provide misconceptions among students in various aspects including the followings: 1) this is how Newton originally derived the equilibrium theory of tides, and 2) the tide is a phenomenon appearing only in rotating systems. We show that in astronomy, a much simpler description, which employs the inertial frame, is generally used to explain tides and thus causes less confusion. We argue that the description used in astronomy is preferable both in the viewpoints of simplicity and ease of interpretation. Moreover, on a historical basis, an inertial frame was adopted by Newton in Principia to explain tides. Thus, the description used in astronomy is consistent with Newton's original approach. We also present various astrophysical tides which do not comply with the concept of centrifugal force in general. We therefore argue that the description used in oceanography should be compensated by that in astronomy, due to its complexity, historical inconsistency and limited applicability.

Retro fashion can be defined as re-applied and re-created fashion style where a certain period or a specific style in the past would be recalled. As a unique cultural phenomenon, the 'retro' style has affected not only our daily lives, but also the fashion industry. The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between the nostalgia and consumer purchase behaviors of retro fashion products in Korea. The data was collected using a self-administered online survey of 224 respondents. The results show that the sub-elements of nostalgia include personal and historical nostalgia. The personal nostalgia positively influences consumers' purchase intention of retro fashion products, whereas historical nostalgia negatively affects retro purchase intention. Interestingly, the moderating effects of self-connection and age of respondents on the relationship between nostalgia and retro purchase intention was identified. The findings highlight the potential role of retro fashion on modern society, as it can overturn any concerns people may have about the gloomy future and the harsh reality.

The Folk-dress of some parts of the traditional style is extremely focused and puts value on protecting itself against changes. Generally rural areas are much more conservative politically economically, and culturally. Its environment is sluggish and slow and daily routines change slowly. So they take friendly a position between a race and geographical and environmental differences which is expressed in the Folk-dress. Also, a dress is the most preferred individual object as a symbol of collective homogeneity. By those people who preserve these kinds of the individual objects and by those people who have ethnic conservation, folk-dress was handed down to the present age and the festival dress was used as a tool of ethnic tradition and binding. Therefore, 1 would like to study and research the differences between the folk-dress of the Lithuanian historical and geographical factors and the folk-dress of the surrounding north-eastern European countries. Especially when we compare these with the folk-dress in terms of historical, cultural. and political relationships between Lithuania and the north-eastern European countries, we can find out that they had a good effect on the folk-dress historically and culturally.

The purpose of this study is to analyze movie costume of main character and find design characteristic and historical spirit focusing on the movie, in which Ishioka Eiko, Japanese movie costume designer constructing unique design world, participated. The study captured images of three movies such as , and with Digital Multimedia Converting System and analyzed them by focusing on the pictures showing designer's intention and design characteristic well among acquired 319 pictures. The costumes addressing movie costume designer's sense of values are recreated as future-oriented new works and are expressed as creative costumes by acquiring inspiration from past factors, dissolving them and applying up-to-date technology. Movie costume shall reflect historical spirit of our age as movie shows social cultural trend including fashion trend of manufactured age. Ishioka Eiko has searched for the design, which is proper for three principles such as 'be unique', 'be eternal' and 'be innovative' and from the result of analyzing movie costume, it is found that she showed characteristics of symbolism(transmission of the sensitivity), ornamentalism(effective representation as a decorative effect attention) and multiculturalism(harmony of time and culture) as well as uniqueness. The movie costume are different mutually and create new hybrid culture, in which different costume cultures are mixed with current costumes without the restriction to other culture. It is proper for the age of globalization and localization so it is expected that the multiculturalism will be enlarged more.
