대규모 고등학교의 냉난방 및 신재생에너지시스템 적용방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Application Plan of Air-Conditioning and New and Renewable Systems in the Large High Schools)

  • The study is conducted to study a new, optimum and new and renewable energy application method that can cover the minimum energy and operation costs within a range of school budgets. By deriving the optimum application method, it is expected to maximize the cooling/heating and hot water supply energy saving efficiencies for educational facilities. Therefore, this research implemented a study on the new and renewable energy utilization technique diffusion expansion method and the optimum method. As a result, the first optimum plan was introduced with the multi-type geothermal heat pump 475.6 kW+highly efficient electronic cooling/heating device(EHP) 545.2 kW. On the other hand, the second optimum plan was induced as the multi-type geothermal heat pump 261kW+solar heat collector $240\;m^2$+highly efficient electronic cooling/heating device(EHP) 759.8 kW.

  • For smart mobile devices, the wireless communication module is one of the hardware modules that consume the most energy. If we can build a multi-channel multi-interface environment using heterogeneous communication modules and operate them dynamically, data transmission performance can be highly improved by increasing the parallelism. Also, because these heterogeneous modules have different data rates, transmission ranges, and power consumption, we can save energy by exploiting a power efficient and low speed wireless interface module to transmit/receive sporadic small data. In this paper, we propose a power efficient data transmission method using heterogeneous communication networks. We also compared the performance of our proposed scheme to a conventional scheme, and proved that our proposed scheme can save energy while guaranteeing reasonable data delivery time.

Triboelectric Energy Harvesting for Self-powered Antibacterial Applications

  • Triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) have emerged as a highly promising energy harvesting technology capable of harnessing mechanical energy from various environmental vibrations. Their versatility in material selection and efficient conversion of mechanical energy into electric energy make them particularly attractive. TENGs can serve as a valuable technology for self-powered sensor operation in preparation for the IoT era. Additionally, they demonstrate potential for diverse applications, including energy sources for implanted medical devices (IMDs), neural therapy, and wound healing. In this review, we summarize the potential use of this universally applicable triboelectric energy harvesting technology in the disinfection and blocking of pathogens. By integrating triboelectric energy harvesting technology into human clothing, masks, and other accessories, we propose the possibility of blocking pathogens, along with technologies for removing airborne or waterborne infectious agents. Through this, we suggest that triboelectric energy harvesting technology could be an efficient alternative to existing pathogen removal technologies in the future.

50kW급 가동물체형 고효율 파력발전시스템 설계 (Design of a 50kW Class Rotating Body Type Highly Efficient Wave Energy Converter)

  • A 50 kW class rotating body type wave energy converter consisted of two floating bodies and a PTO (Power Takeoff) unit is studied. As an wave energy extractor, the body is designed to have a VLCO (Variable Liquid-Column Oscillator) having a liquid filled U-tube with air chambers. Owing to the oscillation of the liquid in the U-tube caused by the air spring effect of the air chambers, the amplitude of response of the VLCO becomes significantly amplified for a target wave period. The PTO converts the rotational moment introduced from the relative motion of the hinged bodies to an hydraulic power by means of a cylinder. A high pressure accumulator, hydraulic motor and a generator are equipped in the PTO to convert the hydraulic power to electric power. A control law for adjusting the oscillation period of the VLCO is proposed for the efficient operation of the VLCO with various wave conditions. It is found that the effect of the air spring has an important role to play in making the oscillation of the VLCO match with the ocean wave. In this way, the wave energy converter equipped with the VLCO provides the most effective mode for extracting energy from the ocean wave.

데이터센터 냉방시스템 고효율화를 위한 국내 수열에너지 보급 제도 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of the Water Source Energy Distribution Regulation for High Efficient Data Center Cooling System in Korea)

  • In this study, the current regulation of the water source energy, one of the renewable energy, was analyzed, and the improvement plan for the high efficient data center cooling system was suggested. In the improvement plan, the design and construction guidelines of the water source energy system permit to adopt the cooling and heating system with or without heat pump. In addition, it should also include the system operated in the cooling mode only all year-round. The domestic test standards to consider the water source operating conditions should be developed. Especially, it is highly recommended that the test standards to include the system with forced cooling and free cooling modes related with the enhanced data center cooling system adopting the water source energy.

  • 복합발전사이클은 서로 다른 온도조건에서 운전되는 두 개의 사이클을 열역학적으로 결합한 발전사이클로서 Fig. 1-(d) 처럼 고온부 사이클에서 배출되는 열량을 저온부 사이클에서 회수하여 전체 시스템효율을 개선하도록 설계되었다$^{1)}$ . 고온부에서 작동하는 사이클을 상부사이클(topping cycle or topper)이라고하며 저온부에서 작동하는 사이클을 하부사이클(bottoming cycle or bottomer)이라고 한다.

  • Demand for the highly efficient and high performance urban energy supply system having been continuously increased according to the rise of quality of life and continuously increased energy cost all over the world. The district heating and cooling system is very effective way for energy saving, cost reduction, and demand side management of energy. There are several district cooling supply technologies such as chilled water direct transportation, installation of absorption type chiller in the user side, and desiccant cooling. This study investigates the advantage and technical problems of each district cooling technology. Also, it is necessary political and financial support system for the extension of district cooling system.

Lanthanide-Cored Supramolecular Systems with Highly Efficient Light-Harvesting Dendritic Arrays towards Tomorrow′s Information Technology

  • We have developed novel lanthanide-cored supramolecular systems with highly efficient light-harvesting dendritic arrays for integrated planar waveguide-typed amplifiers. Er$^{3+}$ ions were encapsulated by the supramolecular ligands, such as porphyrins and macrobicyclics. The supramolecular ligands have been designed and synthesized to provide enough coordination sites for the formation of stable Er(III)-chelated complexes. For getting a higher optical amplification gain, also, the energy levels of the supramolecular ligands were tailored to maintain the effective energy transfer process from supramolecular ligands to erbium(III) ions. Furthermore, to maximize the light-harvesting effect, new aryl ether-functionalized dendrons as photon antennas have been incorporated into lanthanide-cored supramolecular systems. In this paper, molecular design, synthesis and luminescent properties of novel lanthanide-cored integrated supramolecular systems with highly efficient light-harvesting dendritic arrays will be discussed.d.

FAST BDD TRUNCATION METHOD FOR EFFICIENT TOP EVENT PROBABILITY CALCULATION

  • A Binary Decision Diagram (BDD) is a graph-based data structure that calculates an exact top event probability (TEP). It has been a very difficult task to develop an efficient BDD algorithm that can solve a large problem since it is highly memory consuming. In order to solve a large reliability problem within limited computational resources, many attempts have been made, such as static and dynamic variable ordering schemes, to minimize BDD size. Additional effort was the development of a ZBDD (Zero-suppressed BDD) algorithm to calculate an approximate TEP. The present method is the first successful application of a BDD truncation. The new method is an efficient method to maintain a small BDD size by a BDD truncation during a BDD calculation. The benchmark tests demonstrate the efficiency of the developed method. The TEP rapidly converges to an exact value according to a lowered truncation limit.
