영국 및 호주의 고등교육 포용성 정책 비교 분석 (An Analysis of Inclusive Higher Education Policies in the UK and Australia)

  • 본 연구에서는 영국과 호주의 고등교육 포용성 정책에 대한 비교 분석을 통하여 우리나라의 고등교육 분야지속가능발전 목표(SDG 4.3)의 달성을 위한 시사점을 제안하고자 하였다. 영국과 호주를 분석대상으로 선택한 이유는 양국 모두 2000년대 초반부터 대학생활의 전주기(입학~졸업) 측면에서 고등교육의 포용성을 강화하는 정책들을 추진하고 있기 때문이다. 양국 사례 분석을 통해 도출한 우리나라의 SDG 4.3 실현을 위한 정책적 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 고등교육의 포용성 강화를 위해서는 소외계층 개념을 '소득 수준'에서 탈피하여 '인종, 지역, 문화 등'으로 확대하여 접근할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 소외계층에 대한 고등교육 지원 범위를 입학기회의 확대로부터 대학생활 적응과 진로개척 등을 포함한 '대학생활의 전주기'로 확장할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 소외계층 집단별로 경험하는 고등교육 장벽에 대한 조사를 토대로 집단별 특성을 고려한 맞춤형 지원을 제공할 필요가 있다. 마지막으로 정부 차원에서 소외계층 고등교육 지원을 위한 지역 파트너십 구축을 지원할 필요가 있다.

  • In modern society, the organization of the educational process plays an important role in education. Traditionally, it is through communication and dialogue between the teacher and the student that professional competence is acquired. As society develops, the demand in the global labor market changes and the requirements and criteria for specialists increase. Therefore, a new approach to managing the pedagogical interaction between a teacher and a student in the process of education in a higher educational institution allows a positive impact on the system of training specialists and opens up new prospects for the formation of competitive specialists. The issue of the quality of education is a key one and is covered in the documents regulating the process of educational activities. Also an important problem today is the transition to qualitatively new and innovative systems of training specialists and the departure from outdated models of managing pedagogical interaction in higher education institutions.   • In modern socio-cultural conditions, the requirements for the quality of professional training of graduates of higher educational institutions are increasing. This issue has become especially acute with the advent of pandemic conditions. The ability to apply the existing competencies in the situation of challenges of the 21st century to solve complex social and professional problems is an important criterion for the quality of higher education. Modern professional art education is undergoing many reforms and transformations. Particular attention is paid to innovative teaching methods, thanks to which future specialists experience the breath of innovative education. This issue is especially relevant during the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since students of creative specialties must also have certain competencies, within the framework of the educational process, the competence-based approach to teaching plays a key role, is the methodological basis in the system of modernization of higher professional art education. Thus, the main task of the study is to analyze the process of formation of professional competence among students of art institutions of higher education in the context of COVID-19. As a result of the study, the main aspects of the process of formation of professional competence among students of art institutions of higher education in the context of COVID-19 were investigated.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between maternal education level, social support, attribution, mother-child communication and children's social competence. The major findings of this study were as follows; (1) The higher maternal education level and the higher internal attribution were, the more negative mother-child communication was. (2) The higher maternal education level is, the higher perceived social support is, and the more open-mined/positive mother-child communication is, the higher children's initiative, competence and sociability. Also, the more mother attribute children's behavior internally, the lower the children's competence is.

  • Over the past several decades, educational systems in many parts of the world have undergone manifold changes that have significantly affected the work environment of educators. Among other negative impacts of the globalized reforms in higher education has been the increasing prevalence of workplace bullying. The purpose of this research note is to serve different purposes: (1) examine the causes behind the changing landscape of higher education; (2) discuss previous and current research on workplace bullying; (3) introduce the methodology of the Taiwan Higher Education Faculty Survey (THEFS); (4) outline its anticipated outcome.

The Relationship Between Life-Learning Competency and Self-Directed Learning Ability, Problem-Solving Ability, and Academic Achievement of University Students in the Context of Higher Education

  • The purpose of this study was to examine whether respondents showed gender differences in life- learning competency, self-directed learning ability, problem-solving ability, and academic achievement and to identify relationships among variables of university students in the context of higher education. To address those goal, the data set was analyzed that nationally collected from Korea Youth Competency Measurement and International Comparative Research III by National Youth Policy Institute in South Korea. 680 samples were used in the study that were 343 males and 337 females of university students. As results, statistically significant difference was showed in the participants' gender. Male university students were higher score than female university students in All variables. Also, learning agility in life-learning competency was strongly related to self-directed learning ability and problem-solving. Thinking skills in life-learning competency was strongly related to academic achievement in university students in higher education. In terms of learning strategy in the context of higher education, some suggestions have been made for university students.

  • The article reflects short-term perspectives on the use of information and communication technologies in the training of teachers for higher education. Education is characterized by conservatism, so aspects of systematic development of the industry are relevant to this cluster of social activity. Therefore, forecasting the introduction of innovative elements of ICT training is in demand for the educational environment. Forecasting educational trends are most relevant exactly in the issues of training future teachers of higher education because these specialists are actually the first to implement the acquired professional skills in pedagogical activities. The article aims to consider the existing potential of ICT-based learning, its implementation in the coming years, and promising innovative educational elements that may become relevant for the educational space in the future. The tasks of scientific exploration are to show the optimal formats of synergy between traditional and innovative models of learning. Based on already existing experience, extrapolation of conditions of educational process organization with modeling realities of using information and communication technologies in various learning dimensions should be carried out. Educational trends for the next 3 years are a rather tentative forecast because, as demonstrated by the events associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, the socio-cultural space is very changeable. Consequently, the dynamism of the educational environment dictates the need for a value-based awareness of the information society and the practical use of technological advances. Thus, information and communication technologies are a manifestation of innovative educational strategies of today and become an important component along with traditional aspects of educational process organization. Future higher education teachers should develop a training strategy taking into account the expediency of the ICT component.

Distribution of Brand Community in University: A Systematic Review of Literature on Higher Education Market-Oriented Strategy

  • Purpose: Brand community in higher education institutions comes up as an important topic to be discussed because the relationships among consumers can support the institutional brand and ultimately give meaning and vitality to the market-oriented strategy. This study aims to investigate how the literature on brand community in higher education have been distributed in research trends, theoretical frameworks, and methods. Research design, data and methodology: A total of 24 articles were organized from four reputable international databases. Content analysis were performed followed by synthesis toward potential directions and suggestions. Results: The researches in this area have increasingly focused on online interaction. Social identity theory and relationship theory were the two most prevalent theories used. Since the internet provides any social relationship with a specific relationship to form the brand community, its contextualization in higher education resulted in new concept implementation. Conclusions: The relationship within online participati on has impacted the market-oriented strategy of higher education in searching for ways toward a long-term and enduring bond among students, alumni, institutions and brands. As there is a plenteous prospect of data availability combined with big data analysis technology, the online participation will pique the interest of scholars to conduct further research on it.
