Built-in Type 스핀들 구동을 위한 제어방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on Control Method for Built-in Type Spindle)

  • In this paper, the authors propose a new high performance Built-in Type spindle motor drive using vector-controlled technique at 15,000 r/min. Control method is changed by variation of motor speed in a conventional Built-in type spindle drive. In the drive system to be presented, the conventional vector control is used in the low-speed range, and the vector control without encoder is used in the high-speed range. Furthermore, in order to drive the motor from 0 to 15,000 rpm smoothly, the vector control with encoder in the low-speed range (from 0 to 8,000 rpm) is utilized and the vector control without encoder in the high-speed range (from 8,000 to 15,000 rpm) is utilized.   • Recently, a high speed spindle is an essential part of machine tools to satisfy latest demand of high precision product and machining of hard materials. But, there are many disadvantages such as heat generation of built-in-motor, bearing friction, noise, vibration and displacement because of the high speed. Many researches on spindle systems have been conducted for solving these problems. In this study, technical trend of machine tools spindle systems are analyzed with patent PSM, mapping and grouping. The analysis is carried out for the applied patent during January 2000 and December 2009 in Korea, Japan, EU and U.S.A. And development of the direction, strategy and promising technologies of the spindle system are suggested.

  • This paper describes action of synchronous error between z axis and spindle axis on rigid tapping. Because rigid tapping cuts the threads synchronizing the movement of z axis to spindle rotation, synchronous error between z axis and spindle is very important. Increase of synchronous error degrades the accuracy of thread and crushes the tap in worst case. So we developed the realtime measurement system of synchronous error in order to know the action of synchronous error on rigid tapping. In result, we have known that synchronous error was increased according to rise of spindle speed and z axis speed. And because the cutting torque(M3-30Ncm∼M10-300Ncm) on rigid tapping are less than maximum motor torque(3500Ncm), it specially doesn't affect the synchronous error. The most important parameter which has affected the increase of synchronous error was acceleration/deceleration time. On worst case, spindle motor was tripped because of the excess of synchronous error. Because the acceleration/deceleration time ocuupies the most of the total cutting time, in order to move on the high speed rigid tapping, the acceleration/deceleration time of spindle must be remarkably reduced.

  • In a high speed spindle system it is very important to monitor the state of rotating rotor. Particularly in active control spindle system the position sensor must provide feedback to the control system on the exact position of the rotor. In order to monitor the state of a high speed spindle exactly, high accuracy and wide frequency bandwidth of sensors are important. The focus in this paper is to make a fiber optic sensor for monitoring rotor of magnetic bearing, to design the circuit for detecting optical signal, and to evaluation static and dynamic characteristics of fiber optic sensor.

  • High speed machining aims to raise the productivity and efficiency by making more precise and higher value-added products than any other machining method by means of the high speediness of spindle and feed drive system. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of the run-out of endmill on the dimension precision of workpiece and to obtain the fundamental data on high speed machining which is available by machining the side of Al-alloy with solid carbide endmills in high speed machining center and by measuring dimensions and surface roughness. From the results of experimentation following are obtained ; if spindle speed is ultra high in conditions that radial depth of cut and feed per tooth are very small highly precise and accurate products are to be made efficiently with high feed rate. and so we can raise productivity.

고속 스핀들의 동적거동과 밸런싱 해석 (Analysis of Dynamic Behavior and Balancing of High Speed Spindle)

  • 공작기계 응용에 있어서 고속 및 고효율 가공의 추세는 스핀들의 고속화를 지속적으로 요구하고 있다. 내장형 모터를 장착한 스핀들은 가공시스템의 구조를 단순하게 한다. 하지만 로터에는 불평형 질량에 의해 진동이 발생하며, 이를 제거하기 위한 밸런싱 작업은 필수적이다. 이 논문에서는 내장형 모터를 장착한 고속 스핀들의 동적거동을 해석하였다. 불평형 질량, 베어링 강성, 회전 속도의 변화에 따른 휘돌림 궤적을 해석하였고, 이를 저감시키는 방법을 모색하였다. 또한 Timoshenko 빔 요소를 적용하여 스핀들-베어링 시스템을 모델링하고, 영향 계수법을 적용하여 밸런싱 과정을 시뮬레이션 하였다. 스핀들의 경우, 불평형 하중이 작용할 때, 베어링 지지점에서 가장 작은 휘돌림 궤적이 나타났으며, 양단에서 가장 큰 휘돌림 궤적을 나타내었다. 스핀들의 회전속도가 증가함에 따라 스핀들 선단에서의 휘돌림 궤적도 증가하였다. 베어링의 강성이 커짐에 따라 휘돌림 궤적 또한 증가하였다. 밸런싱 전, 후의 휘돌림 궤적 반경은 최대 73%까지 감소함을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 연구 결과는 CNC 자동선반의 스핀들 고속화에 중요한 정보를 제공하고 있다.

  • This paper described the current status of machine tool technology and its future trends with a particular emphasis on high-speed machining. People in machine tool industry have continuously sought to serve fast-changing manufacturing industry with economical machining solutins. At presents, it appears that more productivity gain is demanded to shorten time-to-market and machining requirements become more stringent. In this regard, this paper firstly addressed a high-speed spindle as a key element for the next-generation machine tools. The sequel to it apparently went to high-speed feed axes and final discussion included the problem of how to optimize overall system including servo function. Lastly a brief look to NC technology including machine intelligence was taken.

밀링가공에서 공구마모와 스핀들의 비틀림 진동과의 상관관계에 관한 연구 (Research on the Effect of Cutter Wear on the Torsional Vibration of Spindle in Milling)

  • In milling, cutting tool ins directly attached to spindle and this tells that spindle can provide very useful information on the cutting tool condition such as wear or breakage. Since spindle is rotating at a high speed, measuring spindle velocity using a noncontacting measurement system gives the best information which can be obtained. Due to the force applied to spindle through cutting tool, velocity of spindle changes. And any change in cutting tool condition affects cutting force and consequently spindle vibration. With the intent of continuously monitoring cutting tool condition in intermittent machining operations in a benign manner, a noncontacting velocity measurement system using a laser Doppler velocimeter was assembled to measure spindle torsional vibration. Spindle vibration was measured and analysis of it in the frequency domain yielded a measure which corresponded to amount of cutting tool wear in milling.
