  • Predicting a pressure drop between inlet and outlet of the filter system is essential in designing the optimum filter system. This experiment has been carried out to investigate several design parameters which influence in a pressure drop, such as different tube length and metal fiber filter mesh size. A 1/50 scale filter system was made to simulate a real filter system. Results are compared with Darcy equation for a porous media.

  • A cylinder control system of the conventional construction machine has been controlled by hydraulic spool valves. This system is low-cost but system efficiency is not high. Recently, to improve this, all valves are controlled electronically and independently. Bu and Yao suggested four way electronic hydraulic control valve system. It is called IMVT(Independent Metering Valve Technology). The purpose of the study is to find proper IMV pressure control method for excavator and to validate excavator's bucket regeneration energy effect by controlling the IMV system. In this paper, we mathematically describe the bucket system of excavator first. And then, based on these results, we design the control system which is divided into two operations(none regeneration or regeneration).The results of the experiment show the desirable performance and usefulness of the designed control system.

  • The experiments for aerodynamic characteristics on railway acoustic screen are performed using 1/61 scale-down mock-up facility. The train model for the experiment is high speed train (KTX) and the tested speed is about 300km/h. The tested train length is about 61cm which is corresponding to two units of train. The strength of pressure wave is measured using piezo typed pressure sensor. The measured pressure is compared with field test data and UIC 779-1 values.

  • A brake disk in railway vehicle is safety part. Requirements not only in performance but also in comfort, serviceability and working lifetime are high and rising. In this study, we carried out fatigue test and thermal stress analysis. To determine a pressure distribution, contact pressure analysis precede thermal stress analysis. Especially, characteristics of the brake disk were analyzed in considering intial velocity, and thickness of a frictional plate. Form the comparing the results of experiment and FEM analysis, fatigue characteristic and fatigue life assessment ok a brake disk of railway vehicle were performed.

  • The fact that the major cases of life casualties are from smoke in the fire accidents and the expected steep increase of skyscrapers, huge spaces, multiplexes and huge scaled underground spaces demand establishment of efficient smoke countermeasure. The field experiments on pressure differential systems for smoke management in two high buildings of 20 stories and 21 stories are carried out to evaluate the features of airflow through open door between accommodation and lobby. The procedures and results of experiments are presented.

  • To clarify the hydraulic and thermal characteristics of ice slurry which made from 6.5% ethylene glycol-water solution flow in the double tube and plate type heat exchanger, experimental studies were performed. The mass flux and Ice fraction of ice slurry were varied from 800 to $3,500 kg/m^2s$(or 7 to 17 kg/min) and from 0 to 25%, respectively. During the experiment, it was found that the measured pressure drop and heat transfer rate increase with the mass flux and ice fraction; however the effect of ice fraction appears not to be significant at high mass flux region. At the region of low mass flux, a sharp increase in the pressure drop and heat transfer rate were observed depends on mass flux.

  • 이 연구에서는$2NO_2\;{\rightleftarrow}\;N_2O_4$계의 평형에 미치는 압력의 영향을 색깔 변화를 통해 관찰하는 실험과 관련하여 고등학교 화학교과서와 일반화학교재에 나타난 내용을 분석하고, 교과서에 제시된 실험 방법을 개선하는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 연구 결과, $2NO_2\;{\rightleftarrow}\;N_2O_4$계를 압축시킬 때 부피 감소에 따른 $NO_2$ 농도 증가 요인을 무시하고 적갈색이 엷어지는 것으로 기술하고 있고, 압축 시 일어나는 현상들의 원인을 해석하는 데 오류가 있었다. 따라서 이론적인 연구를 토대로 $2NO_2\;{\rightleftarrow}\;N_2O_4$계를 압축할 때 일어나는 색깔 변화와 온도 변화를 정량적으로 측정하여 비교함으로써 올바른 해석을 제시하였다. 또한,$2NO_2\;{\rightleftarrow}\;N_2O_4$계의 압축 시, 부피 감소에 따른 $NO_2$ 농도 증가 효과를 배제하고 순수한 평형 이동에 따른 색깔 변화만을 관찰할 수 있는 개선된 실험 방법을 제시하였다.

Effect of Salt Level in the Feed on Performance of Red and Fallow Weaner Deer

  • In Australia, many cropping areas are affected by salt. In these regions, Chenopodiaceous plants, such as Atriplex, Kochia and Bassia spp have been planted to improve soil conditions. These plants have become invaluable feed resources for grazing animals in dry summers, but have a high sodium content. To assess the impact of high salt intake on grazing deer, two experiments were conducted. The first experiment used 30 fallow weaner deer to examine the effect of salt level in the diet on feed intake, water intake and body weight of fallow deer. Salt was added to lucerne chaff at 0, 1.5, 3.0, 4.5 and 6% and fresh water was offered all the time. Increasing the salt level in the diet from 0 to 6% didn't affect feed intake, osmotic pressure and mineral concentration in blood of fallow deer. However, water intake was significantly higher (p<0.05) in deer fed diets containing more than 3% salt. Body weight was lower (p${\leq}$0.056) for fallow deer in July and August when salt content was over 3%, suggesting they can ingest over 15 g sodium/day without significant depression in both feed intake and growth rate if the fresh water is available. In the second experiment, 18 red weaner deer were fed lucerne chaff diets containing 1.5, 4.5 and 6.0% salt with 6 deer/diet. The results revealed that feed intake and blood osmotic pressure were similar (p>0.05) for red deer fed different levels of salt although the feed intake declined from 1.91 to 1.67 kg with the increase of salt level from 1.5% to 6.0% in the diet. Water intake was significantly higher for deer fed diets containing over 4.5% salt, but there was no difference in body weight during the experiment. However, no recommendation can be made on the salt tolerance of red deer due to limited increment of salt level in the diet.

혼합 냉매를 이용한 극저온 J-T 냉동기 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study of The J-T Cryocooler with Mixed Refrigerant)

  • An experimental study on the Joule-Thomson cryocooler with the mixed refrigerant (MR) is described in this paper, J-T refrigeration experiment was performed with a single stage regular air-conditioning compressor The mixed refrigerant in the experiment was composed of 75% mol fraction of $N_2$. 30% moi fraction of CH$_4$. 30% moi fraction of $C_2$H$_{6}$. 10% mot fraction of $C_3$H$_{8}$ and 15% mot fraction of iso-C$_4$H$_{10}$. Oil mist in the MR stream could be eliminated completely by the glass microfiber filter. Since a single stage compressor that had been designed thor R22 is not appropriate for high Pressure ratio of the mixed refrigerant especially during the transient period. two modifications were incorporated to regular J-T refrigeration cycle. First. a Portion of the MR was by-passed at the inlet of the heat exchanger and transferred directly to 7he suction of the compressor in the modified system. Second, a buffer volume was Prepared to change the mass flow rate of refrigerant. The pressure ratio in J-T expansion device was relieved at the beginning of the operation due to the by-Pass scheme. but it gradually decreased during the transient Process as some of the MR component condensed at low temperature. The buffer volume at the suction side was used to increase the MR gas density in the system after the transient cool-down period. Form the experiment with the modified system, the refrigerator could reach the lowest temperature of -152$^{\circ}C$ without cooling load. and about -15$0^{\circ}C$ with 5 W of cooling load . . . .

깊이가 깊은 제품의 사출성형에서 보압조건에 따른 캐비티 내압의 분석 (Analysis of Cavity Pressure for Packing Conditions in Injection Molding of a Deep Depth Product)

  • 사출성형공정은 충전, 보압, 냉각, 이형 및 취출 순서로 이루어진다. 이러한 공정 중 보압단계에서 캐비티 내에 가장 큰 압력이 주어진다. 따라서 캐비티 내압은 보압전환 시점과 보압의 크기에 가장 크게 영향을 받는다. 캐비티의 큰 내압은 금형에 큰 응력을 집중시켜 금형을 손상시킬 우려가 있으므로 캐비티 내압을 관찰하고 조절하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 이론해석과 실험을 통하여 보압전환 시점과 보압의 크기에 따라 캐비티 내압을 분석하였다. 보압전환 시점이 늦어짐에 따라서 내압이 증가하였다. 또한 보압전환이 늦어지면서 충전시간이 길게 되어 전체적으로 압력을 받는 시간이 길어져 보압 이후 냉각이 끝난 후에도 잔여압력이 존재하였다. 캐비티 내의 압력은 보압크기가 커질수록 비례적으로 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 역시 보압의 크기가 클수록 냉각 후 잔여압력이 증가하였다. 결과적으로 보압전환 시점이 늦고 보압크기가 크면 캐비티 내에 높은 압력이 형성되고 냉각이 끝난 후에도 잔여압력이 존재함을 알 수 있었다. 실험과 해석을 비교해 보았을 때 전체적인 경향은 매우 유사하였으나 해석에서는 잔여압력을 예측하지 못하였다. 캐비티 내압 조절을 위해서는 보압조건의 설정이 중요하며 CAE 해석을 통하여 최적 조건 설정이 가능함을 알 수 있었다.
