Two Color PIV 기법을 이용한 마하 2.0 초음속 노즐의 속도분포 측정 (Velocity Distribution Measurements in Mach 2.0 Supersonic Nozzle using Two-Color PIV Method)

  • 유동장의 2차원 평면 속도 분포를 측정하기 위하여 two-color PIV 기법을 개발하였고, 마하 2.0 초음속 노즐에 적용하여 보았다 이 기법은 single-color PIV 기법과 유사하나 서로 다른 색의 두 레이저 빔을 사용하여 방향성의 문제를 해결하는 차이점을 갖는다. 녹색의 레이저 평면광 (532 nm)과 적색의 레이저 평면광 (619 nm)이 주입된 입자를 조사하기 위하여 사용되었고, 입자 위치가 고해상도 (3060${\times}$2036) 디지털 칼라 CCD 카메라에 기록되었다. 이러한 디지털 칼라 CCD 카메라론 이용한 two-color PIV 시스템은 사진 필름 현상 시간과 이에 따른 디지털화하는 시간 그리고 방향성의 문제론 해결하기 위해 사용되는 일반적인 image shifting 기법과 관련된 어려움을 제거해 준다. 또한 고속 유동장에서는 알맞은 입자 밀도의 주입이 어려워지는데, two-color PIV는 높은 신호 대 잡음비로 인하여 속도 벡터론 얻기 위해서 조사영역에 존재해야 하는 벡터쌍의 수가 줄어들게 된다. 따라서 다른 색의 두레이저 빔의 시간 간격을 조절함으로써 고속 유동장의 속도 분포를 쉽고 정확하게 측정할 수 있게 된다. 마하 2.0 초음속 노즐에서의 속도 분포가 측정되었으며, 속도장으로부터 변형률장을 구하여 과팽창 충격파 구조를 예측해 보았다. Two-color PIV에 의해 얻어진 속도 분포와 충격파의 위치 결과는 schlieren 사진과 비교 분석해 보았다.

  • This paper presents a characteristics of linear induction motor considering airgap variation for railway transit in order to achieve high performance of the vehicle. The operating principle of a LIM(Linear induction motor) is identical to a rotary induction motor. Space-time variant magnetic fields are generated by the primary part across the airgap and induce the electro-motive force(EMF) in the secondary part, a conducting sheet. This EMF generates the eddy currents, which interact with the airgap flux and so produce the thrust force known as Loren's force. Even though the operating principal is exactly same as a rotary motor, the linear motor has a finite length of the primary or secondary parts and it causes static and dynamic end-effect which is the discontinuous airgap flux phenomenon. This end-effect causes the deterioration of the system performance, especially in high-speed operation. Another problem is that construction tolerance restricts the minimum airgap in order to prevent a collision between the primary part and the secondary reaction plate. More over, as the airgap length is getting smaller, the attraction force between the primary part and secondary parts is getting larger dramatically and the attraction force would be another friction against propulsion. Therefore, it is necessary to figure out the characteristics of linear induction motor considering airgap variation in order to achieve high performance of the vehicle. The dynamic model of LIM taking into account end-effects is derived. Then the modified mechanical load equation considering the effect of the attraction and thrust force according to the airgap variation is analyzed. The simulation results are presented to show the effect of the LIM according to the airgap variation.

  • 고고도 장기체공 항공기는 기상조건이 크게 변하지 않는 성층권 내에서 장기간 임무를 수행하며, 비교적 저속으로 순항할 수 있는 추진기관을 선택하여야 한다. 다단 터보차저 시스템과 왕복동 엔진으로 구성된 추진기관은 고도와 상관없이 동일한 추력을 내는 고효율 추진기관으로 알려져 있으며, 이러한 특성으로 인해 여러 고고도 항공기의 추진기관으로 활용되었다. 본 논문에서는 주로 국외에서 개발된 다단 터보차저 시스템이 장착된 왕복동 엔진을 추진기관으로 사용한 항공기 현황을 소개하고, 해당 추진기관 중 가장 중요한 역할을 담당하는 다단 터보차저 시스템에 대한 국내외 연구개발 동향을 살펴보도록 한다.

S자형 환형덕트가 원심압축기 성능에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Influence of S Shaped Annular Duct on the Centrifugal Compressor Performance)

  • 항공기용 엔진에는 압축기단들 사이에 스트럿을 포함하는 S자형 환형덕트가 존재하기도 한다. 이러한 엔진에서 S자형 덕트를 통과하는 유동은 볼록면과 오목면을 따라 가면서 가속과 감속이 이루어지고, 벽면에서의 경계층 성장으로 인해 유로폐쇄량이 증가한다. 이처럼 S자형 덕트의 영향으로 후방에 존재하는 압축기는 불균일한 축방향 속도분포에 따른 영향을 받게 된다. 따라서, 후방 압축기는 전방에 위치한 S자형 덕트의 영향을 충분히 고려하여 설계하여야 한다. S자형 덕트가 미치는 영향을 고려하여 설계된 원심압축기의 성능을 검증하고, S자형 덕트가 원심압축기 성능에 미치는 영향을 파악해보기 위해 압축기 입구에 S자형 환형덕트를 장착한 경우와 원통형 덕트를 장착한 경우에 대해 각각 성능시험을 수행하였다. 시험결과를 통해 입구에 S자형 덕트가 있는 경우에는 없는 경우보다 압축비 및 효율 등 압축기 성능이 저하되고, 쵸킹유량이 감소함을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 성능저하의 원인을 분석하기 위해 S자형 덕트를 포함하는 임펠러의 유동해석을 수행하였으며, 그 결과 성능저하의 원인은, S자형 덕트와 임펠러의 상호작용으로 설계시 예측했던 것보다 인듀서팁에서 상대마하수가 증가하였고, 영각이 감소하였기 때문임을 확인할 수 있었다.

원자력 추진 잠수함의 특성과 농축우라늄 사용 (The characteristics of nuclear powered submarine and the use of enriched uranium)

  • Nuclear power is a way of attaining an enormous amount of energy with relatively small amount of resources and after it has been introduced to the submarine since 1954, there are approximately 150 of nuclear powered submarine currently on a mission around the world. This is due to the maneuverability, mountability and covertness of nuclear submarines. However, there are other tasks, not only the high level of nuclear technology that are needed to be dealt with in order to construct nuclear powered submarine. The biggest task of all is to secure the enriched uranium. Accordingly, this research is about the way of enriching and securing the nuclear fuel that are used in the nuclear submarine with the characteristics, merits and demerits of the nuclear submarine. Due to the fact that the pressurized water reactor in South Korea is the reactor that was originally built for the development of nuclear powered submarine, many parts is designed to be suitable for the submarine propulsion. However, in order to apply this to submarine it is needed to consider additional requests such as the position of reactor, accident-coping system, radioactive covering, reactor output adjustment and ship's pitch and roll in order to apply this to submarine. Nuclear submarines have much higher speed based on the powerful propulsion in comparison with diesel-electric submarine and also have bigger loading area. Besides, there is no need to snorkel and they also have advantages in covertness with the multi-noise proof system. The nuclear technology in South Korea has seen the dramatic development since 1962 and in 1998 reached to the level that we have succeeded in the localization of nuclear plant and exported the world-class one-piece small-sized reactor (SMART) to UAE. To operate these reactors, we import the whole quantity of low-enriched uranium and having our own uranium enrich facility is not probable because of the budget and international regulations. With the ROK/US nuclear agreement revised on 2015 November, the enrichment of uranium that are available without special permission has changed up to 20%. According to the assumption that we use the 20% enrichment of Uranium on U.S. virginia class submarine, it is necessary to change the fuel after 11 years and it will cause additional cost of 1 billion dollars. But the replace period by the uranium's enrichment rate is not fixed so that it is possible to change according to the design of reactor. Therefore, I would like to make a suggestion on two types of design concepts of nuclear submarine that can be operated for 30 years without nuclear fuel change by using the 20% enriched uranium from ONNp.First of all, it is possible by increasing the size of reactor by 3 times and it results in the 1,000t increase of the weight. And secondly, it is by designing the one piece reactor to insert devices such as steam turbine, condenser into the inside of nuclear core like the Rubis class submarines of France.

Optimization of the Propeller Steady Performance Behind Wake Field

  • With the sharp increase of the oil price, the issue of the energy saving requires even higher propulsive efficiency of the propellers. Traditionally the propellers have been designed with the criteria such as that of Lerbs optimum based on the lifting line theory and the empirical formulae of Lerbs and van Manen giving relations of the wake pitch with the wake non-uniformity. With the aid of the high speed computer, it is now possible to apply the time-consuming iterative approaches for the solution of the lifting surface problems. In this paper we formulate the variational problem to optimize the efficiency of the propeller operating in the given ship wake using the lifting surface method. The variational formulation relating the spanwise circulation distribution with the propulsive efficiency to be maximized is however non-linear in circulation distribution functions, thus the iterative method is applied to the quasi-linearized equations. The blade shape design also requires the iterative procedures, because the shape of the blade which is represented by the lifting surface is unknown a priori. The numerical code was validated with the DTNSRDC propeller 4119 which is well-known to be optimum in uniform inflow condition. In addition existing (well-designed) commercial propellers were selected and compared with the results of the open water tests and the self-propulsion tests.

  • The growing application and the numerous qualities of induction motors (1M) in industrial processes that require high security and reliability levels has led to the development of multiple methods for early fault detection. However, various faults can occur, such as stator short-circuits and rotor failures. Traditionally the diagnosis machine is done through a sinusoidal power supply, in the present paper we study experimentally the effects of the rotor failures, such as broken rotor bars in function of the ac supplying, the load and show the impact of the converter from diagnosis of the machine. The technique diagnosis used is based on the spectral analysis of stator currents or stator voltages respectively according to the types of induction motor ac supplying. So, four different ac supplying are considered: ${\odot}$ the IM is directly by the balanced three-phase network voltage source, ${\odot}$ the IM is fed by a sinusoidal current source given the controlled by hysteresis, ${\odot}$ the IM is fed (in open loop) by a scalar control imposing through ratio V/f=constant, ${\odot}$ the IM is controlled through a vector control using space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) technique inverter with an outer speed loop.

CSR적용 극비대선의 저항성능 개선에 관한 연구 (Study on the Resistance Improvement for an Extremely Full Ship Under CSR)

  • The appearance of CSR changes the concept of the hull form design as well as structural design, since the application of CSR inevitably brings the lightweight increase of a ship. Keeping the original design constraints such as principal particulars, deadweight, and speed performance, designers have to increase the volume of the hull form. As a result, the entrance angle at bow end should become larger, which results in blunter waterline shape. For a slow and full ship having high $C_B$ more than 0.85, a new concept of bow shape has been required to alleviate the increase of wave-making resistance, since it is very difficult to improve waterline and frameline shape for such a full ship. In this paper a new bow shape of Capesize Bulk Carrier was developed to improve its wave-making characteristics without incompliance with the design constraints. For loading manual calculation, NAPA software was used. FLUENT6.3.26 and WAVIS1.4 were used to evaluate resistance performance of the subject hull forms. The newly designed hull form was tested at SSPA model basin for the final confirmation of resistance and propulsion performance of the ship. It was found that the new bow shape of a Capesize Bulk Carrier improved the resistance characteristics greatly compared to a conventional bulbous bow. The other benefits of new bow shape on the manufacturability were also investigated.

대차 피치운동을 반영한 흡인식 자기부상제어 (Magnetic Levitation Control through the Introduction of Bogie Pitch Motion into a Control Law)

  • 선형동기전동기(이하 LSM)를 기반으로 하는 자기부상열차의 경우 부상전자석의 대응면이 LSM의 고정자로 요철 형상을 가지고 있기 때문에 주행 시 부상력이 급변동하는 특징이 있다. 특히, LSM을 이용하는 초고속 자기부상열차의 경우, 고속주행을 위해 부상전자석을 대차에 직접 채결하는 방식을 채택하는데 이러한 체결방식 때문에 인접한 부상전자석들간의 운동 간섭이 심하여 대차에 피치운동이 심하게 발생한다. 이러한 문제들을 해소하기 위해 본 논문에서는 피치운동을 반영한 자기부상제어를 소개한다. 제안하는 부상제어는 개별 부상 전자석의 부상공극을 일정하게 유지시켜 줄 뿐만 아니라 인접한 부상전자석들간의 상대운동을 저감하는데 큰 효과가 있다. 제안한 개념을 시험용 자기부상열차에 적용하여 그 효용성을 검증한다.
