Efficiency Optimization Control of IPMSM Drive using SPI Controller (SPI 제어기를 이용한 IPMSM 드라이브의 효율최적화 제어)

  • This proposes an online loss minimization algorithm for series PI(SPI) based interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) drive to yield high efficiency and high dynamic performance over wide speed range. The loss minimization algorithm is developed based on the motor model. In order to minimize the controllable electrical losses of the motor and thereby maximize the operating efficiency, the d-axis armature current is controlled optimally according to the operating speed and load conditions. For vector control purpose, a SPI is used as a speed controller which enables the utilization of the reluctance torque to achieve high dynamic performance as well as to operate the motor over a wide speed range. Also, this paper proposes current control of model reference adaptive fuzzy controller(MFC), and estimation of speed using artificial neural network(ANN) controller. The proposed efficiency optimization control, SPI, MFC, ANN in this paper is applied to IPMSM drive system, the validity of this paper is proved by analyzing response characteristics in variety operating conditions.

  • This paper proposes high speed SRM drive system for blower with a new 4-level inverter and precise excitation position generator. For the high speed blower, a proper inverter and control method are proposed and the output characteristics are analyzed. In order to get a fast build-up and demagnetization of excitation a current, 4-level inverter system is proposed. The proposed 4-level inverter has additional charge capacitor, power switch and diode in the conventional asymmetric converter. The charged high voltage is supplied to the phase winding for fast current build-up, and demagnetization current is charged to additional capacitor of 4-level inverter. In addition, a precise excitation position generator can reduce turn-on and turn-off angle error according to sampling period of digital control system. The proposed high speed SRM drive system is verified by computer simulation and experimental result.

  • The traction drive have a high power transmission efficiency and small size, a light weight, a low noise. So it is expected that alternative drive part of engine. Because it is necessary stillness that essential condition of drive part used moving tool in a room, it has many-sided in field of application. This traction drive is better suitable than other speed reducer as drive part of electric wheelchair. Also it is sufficiently necessary capacity of existing advanced product as apply traction drive to electric wheelchair.

  • This paper designs a drive for high efficiency of the 3-phase IM (induction motor) for FCU(Fan Coil Unit). The speed control system of 3-phase IM for FCU has been implemented by a TMS320LF2406 DSP chip. The DSP TMS320LF2406, which include the most peripheral circuit for control of the Industrial motor suitable for AC motor drive. This type of the controller can be obtained low cost and high reliance. The proposed drive system of the 3-phase IM for the FCU is verified by simulation. The results show the speed control characteristics of the control strategy Proposed for 3-Phase IM drive.

  • This paper proposed a hydraulic pump system which uses a variable SR drive and constant capacity pump. The base and maximum speed, torque are determined from displacement capacity of the pump and maximum pressure. The drive system is set to have a minimum power consumption having hydraulic preset pressure, which is operated within a maximum capacity and maximum preset pressure. This is achieved by controlling motor speed and power with feedback signal of pressure of the hydraulic pump. A 2.2kw, 12/8-pole SR motor and DSP based digital controller are designed and prototype drive system is manufactured. The proposed variable speed SR drive system is simulated and tested with experimental set-up. The test results show that the system has some good features such as high efficiency and high response characteristics.

  • TFM(Transeverse Flux Motor) is a switched reluctance motor with a new structure of novel design concept based on the high efficiency and power density compare to induction motor used on wide industrial field. To apply TFM to various industrial field instead of induction motor, an efficient converter drive system for speed and current control in TFM is required. This paper realized PWM asymmetric converter drive control system for TFM using IGBT and DSP. To certificate the high power and efficiency drive characteristics of realized PWM converter drive control system. simulation was excecuted on speed command and load variation using Matlab/Simulink.

  • Two different designs of permanent magnet motors as direct wheel-set drive for the German high speed train ICE 3 are designed, one with surface mounted magnets (SM) and one with buried rotor magnets (BM). The surface magnet motor has $17\%$ less mass and a slightly higher efficiency and was therefore chosen for further investigations. Compared with the conventional drive system of the ICE 3, consisting of geared inverter fed induction machines, the gearless permanent magnet direct drive yields about $16\%$ lower losses. This calculation is based on the route parameters of the high speed track between Frankfurt/Main and Cologne in Germany, which is currently under construction.

  • Recently, the speed reducer which is applied to robot has conducted a steady development on developments in the field of robotics. Among them, Harmonic drive is a high-stiffness, precision-controlled speed reducer and has high precision, compact, light in weight and high-reduction-ratio characteristics. The feature of flexspline of Harmonic Drive are two types. One is Cup type, the other is Silk Hat type. Silk Hat type is used in case of lighter and more compact in spatial because Silk Hat Type is hollow. According to the shape of silk hat, diaphragm is fractured because stress is concentrated. In this paper, the various shapes of silk hat are suggested to improve the durability of silk hat. And in the case of each shape, a study on stress and deformation using the FEM tool was carried out on flexspline.

  • Interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) has become a popular choice in electric vehicle applications, due to their excellent power to weight ratio. The paper is posed maximum torque control of IPMSM for high speed drive. The control method is applicable over the entire speed range and considered the limits of the inverter's current and voltage rated value. For each control mode, a condition that determines the optimal d-axis current $i_d$ for maximum torque operation is derived. The proposed control algorithm is applied to IPMSM drive system for high speed drive, the operating characteristics controlled by maximum torque control are examined in detail by experiment.
