  • Over 5lm/W white luminous efficacy was obtained by 11" color test panel with narrowed discharge electrodes combined with high Xe partial pressure. By using optical spectroscopic methods, it was suggested that the electron heating efficiency is the most significant to improve the plasma efficiency in our experimental conditions.

  • A high efficiency half bridge converter for PDP in whole operation load range is proposed in this paper. The ZVS(Zero Voltage Switching) in whole load range and high efficiency in low load range is achieved because the proposed converter is switched by fixed frequency asymmetrical duty ratio and resonant operation.

  • The switched reluctance motor (SRM) drive system provides a good adjustable speed characteristics. But driving of SRM is nonlinear changed according to rotor position angle and phase current because of saturation in magnetic circuit, and it is difficult to drive the high efficiency. This paper proposes find point of high efficiency in variable load that are used to control switch-on/off angles and input voltage.

  • Photovoltaic technology has been intensively developed as one of the most powerful renewable energies, replacing a fossil fuel such as coal and petroleum. Every country in the world has emphasized on development of photovoltaic technology and our government has invested heavily in low cost and high efficiency. Korea institute of industrial technology (KITECH) has lastingly constructed PV R&D infra for development of cost-effective and high efficiency solar cells as well as support of commercialization in PV's small and medium enterprises. In this paper, we introduce the next generation PV R&D and infra in KITECH.

  • High efficiency silicon solar cell technology based on planar technology has been improved by various kinds of process by using the wet etching process. In particular, the buried contact solar cell has been successfully studied. In the present work, a simplified process of the buried contact solar cell has been suggested to help one design effectively the high-efficiency solar cell.

디젤기관에 대한 앳킨슨사이클 구성과 사이클의 열역학적 해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Composition of Atkinson Cycle and Thermodynamically Analysis for a Diesel Engine)

  • The present study composed a diesel-atkinson cycle of high expansion as a method of achieving high efficiency in diesel cycle engines. It also interpreted the cycle engine thermodynamically analysis to determine the possibility of the improvement of thermal efficiency and clarified the characteristics of several factors . According to the result of theoretical analysis, heat efficiency was highest when expansion-compression ratio Reど:1. In addition. diesel engines with high apparent compression ratio had higher expansion-compression ratio than otto engines and consequently their effect of high expansion was high. which in turn enhanced thermal efficiency. When the atkinson cycle was implemented in a real diesel engine by applying the miller cycle through the variation of the closing time of the intake valve, the effective compression ratio and the quantify of intake air decreased and as a result, the effect of high expansion was not observed. Accordingly. the atkinson cycle can be implemented when the quantity of intake air is compensated by supercharge and the effective compression ratio is maintained at its initial level through the reduction of the clearance volume. In this case. heat efficiency increased by $4.1\%$ at the same expansion-compression ratio when the apparent compression ratio was 20 and the fuel cut off ratio was 2. As explained above, when the atkinson cycle was used for diesel cycle. heat efficiency was improved. In order to realize high expansion through retarding the intake value closing time, the engine needs to be equipped with variable valve timing equipment, variable compression ratio equipment and supercharged Pressure equipment. Then a diesel-atkinson cycle engine is realized.

Ultrahigh Efficiency from Novel Blue Emitters Using a Rational Molecular Design

  • We investigated new deep blue emitting materials including a novel side group such as CB-203. CB-203 shows relatively 40% increased PL quantum efficiency and higher Tg of $30^{\circ}C$ compared to MADN. It exhibits high External Quantum Efficiency (EQE) of 7.18% that is two times bigger than MADN's, which is the best efficiency in case of non-doped blue fluorescence OLED device to our knowledge. And deep blue emitting materials with a new core structure (CB-301) have been synthesized. CB-301 exhibit excellent blue fluorescence properties. Undoped OLED devices using CB-301 as blue emitters was found to deep blue CIE value (0.154, 0.078) and exhibit high luminance efficiencies of 2.01cd/A at $10\;mA/cm^2$.

Low price Fuel Cell Inverter System for 3[KW] Residential Power

  • This study proposed a high efficiency DC-DC converter with a new current doubler rectifier for fuel-cell systems for use with the Nexa(310-0027) PEMFC from the Ballard Co. The proposed high efficiency DC-DC converter for the fuel-cell system generated ZVS by applying partial resonance and using a phase shift PWM control method. Constantly switching frequency, loss of switching, peak current, and peak voltage were reduced by this system. In addition to this system, two inductors were attached to a rectifier circuit allowing it to be able to provide the direct current(DC) and DC voltage safely to a load with reduced ripple components. Also, by using the newly proposed current doubler rectifier, the high frequency DC-DC converter for the fuel cell system was capable of reaching a highest efficiency of 92[%] as compared to 88.3[%] efficiency in previous results, which means that efficiency increased 3.7[%]. The overall results were confirmed by a simulation and laboratory experiment.

  • One of the most important issues in AC PDP is the improvement of luminous efficiency. One possible method is to develop new sustain electrode shape showing high luminous efficiency. In this study, a new electrode shapehas a bridge is proposed in order to solve this problem. The experimental results show that the test panel with the suggested new electrode shape shows high luminance efficiency by 35.35% and low sustain voltage by 17V compared with the conventional structure.

  • High efficiency white organic light emitting diodes were fabricated by using an alignment free mask patterning method. Only red/green emission without any blue emission was observed in the red/green patterned region and blue emission was emitted in other area. A combination of the red/green and blue emission gave a high efficiency white emission. A maximum current efficiency of 30.7 cd/A and a current efficiency of 25.9 cd/A at 1000 cd/$m^2$ were obtained with a color coordinate of (0.38, 0.45).
