고차압 제어 버터플라이 밸브의 오리피스 형상에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Orifice Shape of High-Differential Pressure Control Butterfly Valve)

  • Butterfly valves are used in various industries to control the flow rate, flow direction, pressure, and temperature. These are gaining popularity in the field of plant industry to enable high-differential pressure because of their low maintenance costs and ease of installation. This study presents a numerical analysis method to analyze changes in the flow characteristics of a high-differential pressure control butterfly valve based on the location and shape of the orifice. The numerical analysis was conducted using a commercial CFD program. The analysis results show a correlation between the orifice shape and cavitation phenomenon.

  • The exchange of goods over the sea is a situation in which the amount of trade between countries is gradually increasing. In order to maintain the optimal operating condition, the ship maintains stability and optimal operating conditions by inserting or withdrawing ballast water from the ballast tank according to the loading condition of cargo capacity is also increasing. Control valves play an important role in controlling fluid flow in these pipes. When the flow rate is controlled using a control valve, problems such as cavitation, flashing, and suffocating flow may occur due to high differential pressure, and in particular, damage to valves and pipes due to cavitation is a major problem. Therefore, in this study, the cavitation phenomenon is reduced by installing orifices at the front and rear ends of the high differential pressure control butterfly valve to reduce the sudden pressure drop at the limiting part of the butterfly valve step by step. The flow coefficient according to the shape of the orifice, the degree of cavitation occurrence, and the correlation were analyzed using a CFD(Cumputational Fluid Dynamics), and an optimal orifice design for reducing cavitation is derived.

  • This paper presents the method of ROL(Rate Of Loading) improvement for the Motor Operated Gate Valve operated in high differential pressure condition. ROL is one of the most important evaluation parameters for the valve ability. It is close to correlation in stem factor (SF) and appears different value by the differential pressure of fluid. ROL and SF are analyzed by the static test and dynamic test. The obtained result show that the modification of stem factor is very important factor for the ROL improvement. In order to obtain the same value of SF between static and dynamic test, stem and stem nut should be combined appropriately by the repetition test.

  • The fact that the major cases of life casualties are from smoke in the fire accidents and the expected steep increase of skyscrapers, huge spaces, multiplexes and huge scaled underground spaces demand establishment of efficient smoke countermeasure. The field experiments on two high buildings of 20 stories and 21 stories are carried out to evaluate the field performance of pressure differential systems for smoke management and the results of experiments are presented.

연돌효과가 급기가압 제연시스템에 미치는 영향에 대한 현장실험 (Field Experiment on Influence of Stack Effect to Pressure Differential System for Smoke Control)

  • 고층건물에서 급기가압 제연시스템과 같이 연기제어를 위해 제연구역에서의 압력차를 이용하는 제연시스템을 성공적으로 설계하고 운영하기 위해서는 건물내 압력형성에 영향을 미치는 건축적 요인들을 검토해야 하며 그중 큰 영향을 발휘하는 요인이 연돌효과이다. 본 연구에서는 고충건물의 피난환경과 제연시스템에 대해 연돌효과가 미치는 영향을 검토하기 위해서 여름과 겨울철에 각각국내 고층건물을 대상으로 급기가압 제연시스템을 가동하면서 피난계단, 부속실 및 거실에서의 압력변화를 측정하고 분석하였다. 연돌효과의 영향이 커지는 겨울철의 경우 급기가압 제연시스템이 가동되면 부속실에서 계단쪽으로의 누기현상과 연돌효과가 합쳐지면서 고층부의 계단실내 압력이 크게 상승하여 재실자가 대피를 위해 피난문을 열고자 할 때 문제가 발생할 수 있다.

  • Differential pressure Venturi cone flowmeter is an advanced flowmeter which has many advantages such as wide range of measurement, high accuracy, excellent flow turndown ratio, low headless, and short installation pipe length requirement, etc. Like other differential pressure flowmeter, Venturi cone flowmeter uses the law of energy conservation, but its shape and position make it perform better than others. The cone acts as its own flow conditioner and mixer, fully conditioning and mixing the flow prior to measurement. For the analysis, we use Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations and $k-{\omega}$ turbulence model. The equations are fully trans-formed in the computational coordinates, the pressure-velocity coupling is made through SIMPLER algorithm, and the equations are discretized using analytic solutions of the linearized equations(Finite Analytic Method). At the end of the paper, using the result of analysis, We propose a new shape of cone with the hope of drag reduction and high performance.

  • High-rise buildings with stack effect caused by the foreclosure, which significantly delayed the spread of a fire in effects of these stack effect driving force said. In this research on the stack effect of the lobby if the pressurization of the stairwell analysis of the pressure distribution of the CONTAMW. Overall, the pressurization of the lobby makes it stairwell amount of pressure(+) to the zone in pressure designed to prevent the spread of smoke control performance and found that, the way a normal state and sub-pressurization in the stairwell with stack effect of the turbulence Such as the formation of the upper flow, but, in the upper atmosphere with pressurization was formed by the underlying trend.

  • This paper presents the method of Rate of Loading(ROL) improvement for the Motor Operated Gate Valve operating in high differential pressure condition. The character of ROL and Stem Factor is analyzed. Static test and dynamic test were performed and acquired the diagnosis signal for the valve closing stroke. The result of this study is the modification of stem factor is very important factor for the ROL improvement. In order to obtain the same value of dynamic test thread friction coefficient stem and stem nut should be combined appropriately.
