The effect of strain aging on tensile behavior and properties of API X60, X70, and X80 pipeline steels was investigated in this study. The API X60, X70, and X80 pipeline steels were fabricated by varying alloying elements and thermomechanical processing conditions. Although all the steels exhibited complex microstructure consisting of polygonal ferrite (PF), acicular ferrite, granular bainite (GB), bainitic ferrite (BF), and secondary phases, they had different fractions of microstructures depending on the alloying elements and thermomechanical processing conditions. The tensile test results revealed that yielding behavior steadily changed from continuous-type to discontinuous-type as aging temperature increases after 1% pre-strain. After pre-strain and thermal aging treatment in all the steels, the yield and tensile strengths, and yield ratio were increased, while the uniform elongation and work hardening exponent were decreased. In the case of the X80 steel, particularly, the decrease in uniform elongation was relatively small due to many mobile dislocations in PF, and the increase in yield ratio was the lowest because a large amount of harder microstructures such as GB, BF, and coarse secondary phases effectively enhanced work hardening.

As recieved boiler tuve steel was aged artificially at $650^{\circ}C$ and$690^{\circ}C$ for various time duration to simulate the material deterioration which could be occurred during the operation of fossiol power plants. And the tensile tests, the microhardness tests and the characterization of carbides formed in the aging process were performed to asses the relationship between the mechanical properties and the effect of thermal aging. Furthernore, the amout of Mo-rich carbide were investigated by ondestructive method by noticing the fact that formation of Mo-rich carbide were investigated by ondestructive melthod by noticing the fact that formation of Mo-rich carbides($Mo_6C$) which stabilizes lastly affects the mechanical properties. It was known that the microhardness results of service exposed materials were similar to the ones which are aged at $650^{\circ}C$. The room temperature measurement showed small variation in the yield points and ultimate strength in materials aged at $650^{\circ}C$. Those properties at $540^{\circ}C$ showed the abrupt decrease compared with as received material even if short aging time. And it was found that $650^{\circ}C$$690^{\circ}C$ aging cause different effects on mechanical properties, although the temperature time parameters(LMP;Larson-Miller parameter) are same. And it was concluded that the aigng at $650^{\circ}C$ is more appropriate to simulate the service exposed condition. Finally, the relationship between high temperature tensile properties and Ip values were established, which offers a potential way of reliability tests onthe power plant components.

In this study, four API X80 linepipe steel specimens were fabricated with varying cooling rates and finish cooling temperatures, and their microstructures and crystallographic orientations were analyzed to investigate the effects of cooling conditions on their tensile and Charpy impact properties. All the specimens consisted of acicular ferrite, granular bainite, and secondary phases such as martensite and martensiteaustenite constituent. The volume fraction of secondary phases increased with increasing cooling rate, and the higher finish cooling temperature resulted in the reduction in volume fraction and grain size of secondary phases. According to the crystallographic orientation analysis data, the effective grain size and unit crack path decreased as fine acicular ferrites having a large amount of high-angle grain boundaries were homogeneously formed, thereby leading to the improvement of Charpy impact properties. The specimen fabricated with the higher cooling rate and lower finish cooling temperature had the highest upper shelf energy and the lowest energy transition temperature because it contained a large amount of fine secondary phases homogeneously distributed inside fine acicular ferrites, while its tensile properties well maintained.
When an adhesive joint is exposed to high environmental temperature, the tensile load capability of the adhesive joint decreases because the elastic modulus and failure strength of structural adhesive decrease. The thermo-mechanical properties of structural adhesive can be improved by addition of fillers to the adhesive. In this paper, the elastic modulus and failure strength of adhesives as well as the tensile load capability of tubular single lap adhesive joints were experimentally and theoretically investigated with respect to the volume fraction of filler (alumina) and the environmental temperature. Also the tensile modulus of the fille containing epoxy adhesive was predicted using a new equation which considers filler shape, filler content and environmental temperature. The tensile load capability of the adhesive joint was predicted by using the effective strain obtained from the finite element analysis and a new failure model, from which the relation between the bonding length and the crack length was developed with respect to the volume fraction of filler.
The main objective of this study is to investigate the microstructure and tensile strength of $SiC_p$/Al alloy composites fabricated by die casting method. Die casting was performed using the preheated mold at the pouring temperature range of $620{\sim}750^{\circ}C$ under the pressure of $1,039 kgf/cm^2$. The low speed and a following high injection speed were 0.4 and 2.1 m/s, respectively. The microstructure of $SiC_p$/Al alloy composites fabricated by die casting method was found to be finer than that of composites fabricated by gravity casting. Also, SiC particulates were homogeneously distributed in refined Al matrix due to rapid solidification. The tensile strength of $SiC_p$/Al alloy composites fabricated by die casting method was found to be varied with cast temperature. The maximun tensile strength of $SiC_p$(10 vol.% and 20 vol.%)/Al alloy composites showed 380 MPa at the cast temperature of $750^{\circ}C$ and 363 MPa at the cast temperature of $700^{\circ}C$, respectively.
This paper reports the effects of curing temperature and aging on the strength and the modulus of elasticity. In oder to determine the strength and the modulus of elasticity with curing temperature and aging, experimental and analytical methods are adopted. The tests of 480 cylinders are carried out for type I, V and V with 15 percent replacement of fly ash cement concretes, which are cured at isothermal conditions of 10, 23, 35 and 5$0^{\circ}C$. and the concrete cylinders are tested at the ages of 1, 3, 7 and 28 days. According to the experimental results, the concrete subjected to high temperature at early ages attaines higher early-age compressive and splitting tensile strength but eventually attaines lower later-age compressive and splitting tensile strength. Even if modulus of elasticity has the same tendency, the variation of modulus of elasticity with curing temperature is smaller than that of compressive strength. Based on these experimental results, the relationships among compressive strength, modulus of elasticity and splitting tensile strength are proposed considering the effects of curing temperature, aging and cement type.
A research for development of composite body panel is in progress for lightening tare. Low specific weight LPMC (Low pressure molding compound) has advantages such as lightweight and resistance to dent and corrosion. In this study, tensile, bending and impact tests for the LPMC and SPRC35 (High tension steel plate) were carried out and compared. Although mechanical properties of SPRC35 are better than the LPMC, the LPMC satisfies basic requirements for car body panel. The high temperature exposed LPMC were degraded due to fiber-matrix debonding and deterioration of resin.

Ultra-fine grained (UFG) Al alloys, which have submicron grain structures, are expected to show outstanding high strength at ambient temperature and excellent superplastic deformation at elevated temperatures and high strain rate. In order to get the UFG microstructure, various kind of severe plastic deformation (SPD) processes have been developed. Among these processes, accumulative roll bonding (ARB) process is a promising process to make bulky Al sheets with ultrafine grained structure continuously. The purpose of the present study is to clarify the grain refinement mechanism during the ARB process and to investigate on the effects of ultra-fine grained structure on the mechanical properties. In addition, UFG AA8011 alloy (Al-0.72wt%Fe-0.63wt%Si) manufactured by the ARB had fairly large tensile elongation, keeping on the strength. In order to clarify the reason for the increase of elongation in the UFG AA8011 alloy, detailed microstructural and crystallographic analysis was performed by TEM/Kikuchi-line and SEM/EBSP method. The unique tensile properties of the UFG AA8011 alloy could be explained by enhanced dynamic recovery at ambient temperature, owing to the large number of high angle boundaries and the Al matrix with high purity.

The performance of concrete structure decreases with change in time and the external environment. In order to reinforce the structure, the research about new material development and application of newly developed materials are widely conducted. In the case of composite FRP, it received good attention in the academia due to its high intensity-weight ratio, excellent corrosion resistency as well as good workability. When applying at the construction field, however, the utilization of FRP did not increase as much due to lack of reliability and design standard. Current study investigated the material characteristics during the temperature change at high temperature and the structural behavior from restraint effect for GFRP reinforcing materials. Two experimental variables were set in this study: GFRP reinforcements due to tensile properties of temperature and restraint compression effects. Three concrete specimen were selected for each set temperatures. For this reason, as a variable to experiment with the effects confined compression concrete members value and tensile properties with temperature reinforcement GFRP, experiment produced three pieces each for each set temperature, the concrete specimen, which is confined in the GFRP was selected each I did. For the temperature change during the experiment, the concrete specimen were mounted in order to expose to experimental high temperature for certain period of time. For compression performance evaluation, reinforcement effect from horizontal constraint of the fiber were measured using an Universal Material Testing Machine (UTM). Finally, this study revealed that the binding characteristics of GFRP materials from temperature change decreased. Also, this study showed that the maximum compression intensity decreased as the temperature increased up to $150^{\circ}C$ in the constraints ability of the GFRP reinforcements during the horizontal constraint of concrete.
Effects of manufacturing conditions, such as austenitizing temperature, patenting temperature and carbon content in steels, on mechanical properties, especially on reduction of area (RA), of hyper-eutectoid steel wires were investigated. RA increased and then decreased with transformation temperature. This was attributed to the presence of abnormal structures in steels transformed at low transformation temperatures and the occurrence of shear cracking during tensile testing of steels transformed at high transformation temperatures. The increase of austenitizing temperature resulted in the increased austenite grain size and consequently the decrease of RA. The decrease of RA with increasing the carbon content in steels was attributed to the increased fraction of cleavage fracture in tensile fractured surfaces.
