The strength development of concrete is influenced by temperature and cement type which greatly affect hydration degree of cement. There is not pertinent concrete strength management method in korea. There are several methods for estimating the in-place strength of concrete. One such method is the maturity concept. The maturity concept is based on the fact that concrete gains strength gradually as a result of chemical reactions between cement and water; and for a specific concrete mixture, strength at any age and at normal conditions is related to the degree of hydration. The rate of hydration and, therefore, strength development of a given concrete will be a function of its temperature. Thus, strength of concrete depends on its time-temperature history. The goals of the present study are to investigate a relationship between strength of high-strength concrete and maturity that is expressed as a function of an integral of the curing period and temperature and predict strength of concrete.
The main purpose of this paper is to establish the high temperature structural integrity evaluating procedures for the next generation reactors, which are to be operated at over 500$^{\circ}C$ and for 60 years. To do this, comparison studies of the high temperature structural design codes and assessment procedures such as the ASME-NH (USA), RCC-MR (France), DDS (Japan), and R5 (UK) are carried out in view of the accumulated inelastic strain and the creep-fatigue damage evaluations. Also the application procedures of the ASME-NH rules with the actual thermal and structural analysis results are described in detail. To overcome the complexity and the engineering costs arising from a real application of the ASME-NH rules by hand, all the procedures established in this study such as the time-dependent primary stress limits, total accumulated creep ratcheting strain limits, and the creep-fatigue damage limits are computerized and implemented into the SIE ASME-NH program. Using this program, the selected high temperature structures subjected to two cycle types are evaluated and the parametric studies for the effects of the time step size, primary load, number of cycles, normal temperature for the creep damage evaluations and the effects of the load history on the creep ratcheting strain calculations are investigated.

Over the last decade, the next generation's ultra-high-temperature materials as an alternative to Nickel-based superalloys have been highlighted. Ultra-high-temperature materials based on refractory metals are one of several potential candidates. In particular, molybdenum alloys with small amounts of silicon and boron (Mo-Si-B alloys) have superior properties at high temperature. However, research related to Mo-Si-B alloys were mainly conducted by several developed countries but garnered little interest in Korea. Therefore, in this review paper, we introduce the development history of Mo-Si-B alloys briefly and discuss the properties, particularly the mechanical and oxidation properties of Mo-Si-B alloys. We also introduce the latest research trends of Mo-Si-B alloys based on the research paper. Finally, for domestic research related to this field, we explain why Mo-Si-B alloys should be developed and suggest the potential directions for Mo-Si-B alloys research.
The eutectic melt of BaO-CuO flux is known to be a potential sintering aid for $Ba(Zr,Y)O_3$ (BZY) electrolyte for proton-conducting ceramic fuel cells (PCFCs). A density of BZY higher than 97% of theoretical density can be achieved via sintering at $1300^{\circ}C$ for 2 h using a flux composed of 28 mol% BaO and 72 mol% CuO. In the present study, chemical and structural evolution of BaO-CuO flux throughout the sintering process was investigated. An intermediate holding step at $1100^{\circ}C$ leads to formation of various impurity compounds such as $BaCuO_{1.977}$, $Ba_{0.92}Cu_{1.06}O_{2.28}$ and $Cu_{16}O_{14.15}$, which exhibit significantly larger unit cell volumes than the matrix. The presence of such secondary compounds with large lattice mismatch can potentially lead to mechanical failure. On the other hand, direct heating to the final sintering temperature produced CuO and $Cu_2O$ as secondary phases, whose unit cell volumes are close to that of the matrix. Therefore, the final composition of the flux is strongly affected by the thermal history, and a proper sintering schedule should be used to obtain the desired properties of the final product.

In the present work, Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GBFS) and Fly ash (FA) were used as partial replacement of Natural Sand (NS) and Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) by weight. One control mix, one with GBFS, three with FA and three with GBFS-FA combined mixes were prepared. Replacements were 50% GBFS with NS and 20%, 30% and 40% FA with OPC. Preliminary investigation on development of compressive strength was carried out at 7, 28 and 90 days to ensure sustainability of waste materials in concrete matrix at room temperature. After 90days, thermo-mechanical study was performed on the specimen for a temperature regime of $200^{\circ}-1000^{\circ}C$ followed by furnace cooling. Weight loss, visual inspection along with colour change, residual compressive strength and microstructure analysis were performed to investigate the effect of replacement of GBFS and FA. Although adding waste mineral by-products enhanced the weight loss, their pozzolanicity and formation history at high temperature played a significant role in retaining higher residual compressive strength even up to $800^{\circ}C$. On detail microstructural study, it has been found that addition of FA and GBFS in concrete mix improved the density of concrete by development of extra calcium silicate gel before fire and restricts the development of micro-cracks at high temperature as well. In general, the authors are in favour of combined replacement mix in view of high volume mineral by-products utilization as fire protection.

In this study, in order to prevent the frost damage of the concrete, the characteristics of the form using heating sheet utilizing the chemical reaction of quicklime and the insulation were evaluated through experiments at low temperature. In the case of form at $-10^{\circ}C$, the form with attached heating sheet showed a temperature history of more than $10^{\circ}C$ higher than that of wood form at the early of concreting due to heat of the quicklime in the heating sheet. In the case of the insulated form, the concrete was kept at a high temperature by preserving the hydration heat. When the heating sheet and the isopink(extruded polystyrene) were attached together on the form, the effect was the same as that of the vacuum insulation. The compressive strength of the form with vacuum insulation and form with isopink, heating sheet as measured about 5 MPa at age 3. The experimental in Mongolia, as with the pervious results, the form with the heating sheet and the insulation showed the highest temperature history over $25^{\circ}C$ for 48 hours. Therefore, it was confirmed that the heating sheet and insulation are attached to the form, which helps the concrete strength development at low temperature by heat generation and the insulation effect.
The spray combustion and spray cooling depends on droplet evaporation. So, evaporation model for spray has been requested and lots of investigation has been done and various reliable models have been developed also for last few decades. In the present study, One dimensional quasi-steady spherically symmetric droplet evaporation model for micro-gravity is developed. The gas phase was assumed as steady state and the thermophysical properties are calculated as a function of temperature, pressure and composition and the properties used in the model was validated by NIST web data and overall evaporation history results was compared with experimental results by Nomura and Qasim and gave satisfactory agreements. Through this model, diverse phenomenon was investigated, especially regarding the effects of ambient pressure and temperature. The effects of pressure for the droplet evaporation time were studied. The high pressure increased the droplet surface temperature and made effect on the evaporation time depend on atmospheric temperature. The role of the ambient temperature was investigated and explained. The basic investigation for the evaporation process according to variation of droplet diameter and surface temperature were also investigated and the well-known phenomena, like D-square-law, were reported, too.

In this study, the temperature history and compressive strength of the concretes according to the type of cement were measured and analyzed in comparison as part of the experiment on the material mixing side to reduce the hydration heat crack of the mat foundation constructed with mass concrete. As a result, the peak temperature and maximum temperature reach time of concrete using high rapid cement were shown to be similar to that of semi rapid cement. In particular, in compressive strength after three days, semi rapid cement was measured higher than that of concrete using high rapid cement. Therefore, if semi rapid cement is used in accordance with the site conditions, it is deemed possible to shorten the air due to reduction of temperature cracks and improvement of initial strength.
Life table experiments were performed in order to examine the effects of food quality on Moina macrocopa fed with four kinds of algal foods, Botryococcus sp., Scenedesmus subspicatus, Selenastrum capricornutum, and Chlorella sp., at $20^{\circ}C$ . The temperature effects on M. macrocopa were also assessed, feeding Chlorella at $17^{\circ}C$,$20^{\circ}C$,$25^{\circ}C$, and a combination of $28^{\circ}C$ (light) and $25^{\circ}C$ (dark). The cartilaginous Botryococcs cells were Inappropriate food for Moina. Among the foods tested, Chlorella was the food of the best quality in all accounts of life history traits. Moina grown on Chlorella showed higher net reproductive rate ($R_0$), longer mean and maximum longevities, earlier mean age at maturity, longer mean carapace length at maturity, larger mean clutch size, and shorter mean time interval between clutch productions than those grown on Selenastrum and Scenedesmus. An optimal temperature for Moina was $20^{\circ}C$ . When Moina were grown on Chlorella at $20^{\circ}C$, they showed the highest r, the highest $R_0$, the shortest T, the longest mean longevity, the earliest mean age at maturity, the longest mean carapace length at maturity, and the largest mean clutch size. The results of life table experiments showed that the individual and population growth patterns were much more affected by low temperature $17^{\circ}C$, than by high temperature ($\geq 20^{\circ}C$). In the optimal condition, the r value was very high, 5.1 in $d^{-1}$. In conclusion, the food quality and the temperature are the most important factors to govern the size and continuity of Moina population, by which the individual growth rates and reproductivity of members in the population can be controlled to survive in their environment such as small and temporary water bodies in nature.

This paper presents the results of mock up test on the manufacturing of high fluidity concrete by applying flowing methods with segregation reducing type superplasticizer(SRS). Three kinds of mock up structure are made such as. conventional concrete(A), high fluidity concrete(B) and high fluidity concrete incorporating 20% of fly ash(C). Physical and mechanical properties, temperature history of structure and nondestructive test are performed. Segregation reducing type superplasticizer is put into base concrete at field, and base concrete is also flowed at field. C mock up structure which requires 0.85% of SRS to flow base concrete shows most desirable performance at fresh state. The highest rising temperature shows the lowest at C structure among the tested structures. Strength variations before and after flowing also show the lowest values at C structures.
