Indirect displacement monitoring of high-speed railway box girders consider bending and torsion coupling effects

  • The dynamic displacement is considered to be an important indicator of structural safety, and becomes an indispensable part of Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) system for high-speed railway bridges. This paper proposes an indirect strain based dynamic displacement reconstruction methodology for high-speed railway box girders. For the typical box girders under eccentric train load, the plane section assumption and elementary beam theory is no longer applicable due to the bend-torsion coupling effects. The monitored strain was decoupled into bend and torsion induced strain, pre-trained multi-output support vector regression (M-SVR) model was employed for such decoupling process considering the sensor layout cost and reconstruction accuracy. The decoupled strained based displacement could be reconstructed respectively using box girder plate element analysis and mode superposition principle. For the transformation modal matrix has a significant impact on the reconstructed displacement accuracy, the modal order would be optimized using particle swarm algorithm (PSO), aiming to minimize the ill conditioned degree of transformation modal matrix and the displacement reconstruction error. Numerical simulation and dynamic load testing results show that the reconstructed displacement was in good agreement with the simulated or measured results, which verifies the validity and accuracy of the algorithm proposed in this paper.

  • In this paper, for high performance as drive, in the speed sensorless vector control of induction motor, introduced flux estimator of voltage model and error compensation algorithm using closed loop integration method, and then we proposed a improved flux estimation method of high accuracy. And the rotor speed is estimating using the stator current and the estimated flux, it is used speed information. The proposed scheme is verified through digital simulations and experiments for 3.7[kW] induction motor and shows good dynamic performance.

  • Linear motor is characterized by its high velocity, high acceleration and good positioning accuracy. In recent years, linear motor is often used as a fast feed mechanism for high-speed machine tools. For the effective application of linear motors to machine tools, many demands on machine conceptions must be fulfilled. In this paper, some important construction concepts such as bending deformation of machine table, frictional force on the linear guidance and thermal behavior of linear motors are presented.

  • Bal1 screw systems has been used for positioning elements of machine tools. In order to maintain high rigidity and accuracy, preload is applied between nut and screw. However, large amount of preload increases frictional heat. Temperature rises remarkably at high speed notion, Thermal expansion degrades positioning accuracy, In this paper, finite differance method is applied to compute temperature distributions and thermal expansions of ball screw systems according to preload condition and rotational steed. Some simulation results show that the developed methodology is good to study thermal expansion of ball screw systems.

  • High speed cutting processes of rigid flexible printed circuit board by making use of high power UV laser with nano-second pulse width have been proposed and investigated experimentally. Also robust laser cutting system has been designed and developed in order to obtain a good cutting quality of rigid and flexible PCB with multi-layers (2-6 layers). Power controller module developed for ourselves is adapted to control the laser output power in the range less than 1%. The systems show the good performance of cutting speed, cutting width and cutting accuracy, respectively. Especially we have confirmed that the short circuit problem due to the carbonized contamination occurred in cross section of multi-layers by thermal effect of high power laser has been improved largely by using multi-pass cutting process with low power and high speed.

  • The technique of high speed machining is widely studied in machining fields, because the high efficiency and accuracy in machining can be obtained in high speed machining. Unfortunately the development of tool for high speed machining in not close behind that of machine tool. In this study, several types flat endmill is prepared for obtaining data according to tool shape. Especially, we concentrated in helix angle, number of cutting edge, rake angle and relief angle. Machinability is measured by cutting force, tool life, tool wear, chip shape and surface roughness according to cutting length. 3-axis cutting forces are acquired from the invented tool dynamometer for high speed machining. Particularly, we found out that the axial cutting force waveform has a good relation with tool wear features. By above results, it is suggested the endmill tool with $45^{\circ}$ helix angle, 6 cutting edge, $-15^{\circ}$ rake angle and $12^{\circ}$ relief angle be suitable for high speed machining

A computed torque method incorporating an iterative learning scheme

  • An iterative learning control scheme is incorporated to the computed torque method as a means to enhance the accuracy and the flexibility. A learning rule is constructed by utilizing a gradient descent algorithm and data compressing techniques are illustrated. Computer simulation results show a good performance of the scheme under a relatively high speed and a heavy payload condition.

  • In this study, the authors introduce a newly developed flatfish grading system. Owing to the features of flatfish with and wide body, the general types of grading system are not easy to apply for it. Furthermore, the flatfish to be graded is alive such that the existing measurement and grading systems cannot be used for it as well. This study gives a solution for measuring and grading the flatfish with high speed and good accuracy. For this object, the authors developed flatfish measurement and grading system. This system consist of the feeding, conveying, measurement part and sorting part. Especially, the measurement part is made by vision based measuring technique which satisfies the given specification. The result from the experiment shows that the developed system is applicable for measuring and grading the flatfish sizes in variety.

  • This paper presents manufacture of mock-up by HSM and optimization of machining condition for high productivity in the view of manufacturing time and accuracy. The rapid machining of prototypes plays an important role in building mock-up. Rapid Prototyping(RP) is a technology to make prototype. But, it have many problems such as shrinkage. deformation and formation occurred by hardening of resin and stair shaping. On the contrary, high speed machining(HSM) technology has many advantages such as good quality, low cost and rapid machining time. HSM and RP is compared for machining efficiency. Experiments are designed by Latin Square Method and machining condition is optimized and selected by ANOVA. For example, propeller is machined by the surface machining of thin surface parts.

  • Due to various advantages over the conventional linear motion device such as ball-screw, linear motors have been used in wide variety of industrial applications for years. Driven by increased demand for precision machine tools, the importance of high positioning accuracy, high stiffness and high thrust are greatly increasing. The merits of linear motor are high speed high acceleration and good positioning accuracy. In addiction, Linear motor for high qualify machine tool call for high thrust, high stiffness. In this paper, thrust ripple, detent force and thermal behavior are considered for the development of high performance linear motor whose thrust is up to 1,900N. This paper presents a comprehensive study for an iron core type linear motor characteristics that include the influence of PM position on thrust ripple by detent force and motor dynamics as well.
