RFID 시스템에 사용되는 주파수 적응형 고효율 Class-E 증폭기 (Frequency Adaptive High Efficiency Class-E Amplifier in RFID System)

  • 이 논문은 RFID와 같은 무선통신 시스템에 적용할 수 있는 고 효율을 유지하는 적응형 E급 증폭기를 제안하였다. 스위치 모드의 이 증폭기는 출력의 공진기를 제어하기 위하여 MCU를 사용하였고, 이에 따라서 입력 주파수 변화에 공진기 주파수를 적용하여 고 효율을 유지하도록 하였다. 이러한 적응형 E급 증폭기의 동작을 보이기 위해서 중심 주파수 450 MHz. 대역폭은 100 MHz인 증폭기를 제작하여 이 주파수 구간에서는 60% 이상의 효율을 유지하였고, 최대 효율은 74.8%를 얻었다.

  • In this paper a high efficiency bidirectional resonant converterfor Vehicle-to-Grid applications (V2G) is proposed.The proposed converter has adopted an LC auxiliary circuit in the third winding of the transformer. With the proposed method full softswitching can be ensured in all switches over a wide range of loadsand the secondary ringing can be removed with no additional snubber or clamp circuitry.In addition, since the proposed resonant converter is able to operate at an almost constant resonant frequencyregardless of the load, CC/CV charge of the battery can be simply implemented with high efficiency. A 3.3 kW bidirectional converter for On-Board Charger of Electric Vehicle is implemented to verify the validity of the proposed method. The experimental results show the high efficiency characteristics of the proposed converter over the wide range of load in both charge and discharge mode. The maximum efficiency of the proposed system was 98.13 % at 2.3 kW during the constant voltage mode charge operation.

Study of the Flow in Centrifugal Compressor

  • Reducing the losses of the tip clearance flow is one of the keys in an unshrouded centrifugal compressor design and development because tip clearances are large in relation to the span of the blades and also centrifugal compressors produce a sufficiently large pressure rise in single stage. This problem is more acute for a low flow high-pressure ratio impeller design. The large tip clearance would cause flow separations, and as a result it would drop both the efficiency and surge margin. Thus a design of a high efficiency and wide operation range low flow coefficient centrifugal compressor is a great challenge. This paper describes a recent development of high efficiency and wide surge margin low flow coefficient centrifugal compressor. A viscous turbomachinery optimal design method developed by the authors for axial flow machine was further extended and used in the centrifugal compressor design. The compressor has three main parts: impeller, a low solidity diffuser and volute. The tip clearance is under a special consideration in this design to allow impeller insensitiveness to the clearance. A patented three-dimensional low solidity diffuser design method is used and applied to this design. The compressor test results demonstrated to be successful to extend the low solidity diffusers to high-pressure ratio compressor. The compressor stage performance showed the total to static efficiency of the compressor being about 85% and stability range over 35%. The test results are in good agreement with the design.

  • Natural gas is one of the most promising alternatives to gasoline and diesel fuels because of its high thermal efficiency and lower harmful emissions, including $CO_2$. Although the high octane value of natural gas increases engine output and efficiency due to the high compression ratio, this fuel is prone to such difficulties as a narrow limit of inflammability and a slow combustion speed in the lean burn operation domain, leading to unstable combustion and higher emissions of harmful exhaust gases. Hydrogen blended with natural gas can extend the lean burn limit while maintaining stable, efficient combustion and achieving lower NOx, hydrocarbon and green house gas emissions. In this study, the effect of hydrogen addition on an engine performance and NOx emission characteristics was investigated in a heavy duty natural gas engine. The results showed that thermal efficiency was increased and NOx emissions were reduced due to the expansion of lean operation range under stable operation. NOx emission can be significantly reduced with the retard of spark advance timing.

싱글칩 마이크로컨트롤러를 이용한 고효율 공진형 플라이백 전력변환기 (High Efficiency Resonant Flyback Converter using a Single-Chip Microcontroller)

  • 본 논문에서는 싱글칩 마이크로컨트롤러를 이용한 고효율 공진형 플라이백 전력변환기를 제안한다. 제안한 전력변환기의 1차측은 하프브리지의 전력구조에 비대칭펄스폭변조(APWM : Asymmetrical Pulse-Width Modulation)을 적용하여 공진형 스위칭을 수행한다. 그리고 2차측은 다이오드 플라이백정류기 전력구조를 이용하고 영전류스위칭(ZCS : Zero Current Switching)으로 동작한다. 그리하여 제안한 컨버터는 고효율을 달성한다. 제안한 컨버터는 제어와 구동을 위하여 싱글칩 마이크로컨트롤러와 부트스랩 회로를 각각 이용하므로 전체적 구조가 매우 간단하다. 본 논문에서는 먼저, 제안한 전력변환기의 전력회로의 동작을 동작모드 별로 설명하고 정상상태 해석을 보인다. 그리고 제안한 전력변환기를 동작시키는 소프트웨어 제어 알고리즘과 구동회로에 관하여 설명하며, 그 후 각 설명에 근거하여 제작된 프로토타입의 실험결과를 통하여 제안한 전력변환기의 동작 특성을 보인다.

  • 최근 컨테이너선의 대형화 추세와 항만간의 경쟁 가속화로 인해 컨테이너터미널의 효율적 운영과 생산성 향상에 대한 관심과 노력이 증대되고 있다. 특히 YT를 이용한 이송방식을 채택하고 있는 터미널의 경우 AGV(Automated Guided Vehicle)를 이용하고 있는 자동화터미널에 비해 상대적으로 경제성 및 운용효율성 측면에서 불리한 것이 사실이다. 최근 10여 년간 이와 같은 YT운용의 비효율성을 보완하기 위해 YT Pooling Operation 도입과 같은 노력이 계속되어 왔으나 개별 YT의 위치인식기능부재로 인한 제약으로 실질적인 효과는 미미한 수준이었다. 본 연구에서는 최근 주목받고 있는 RTLS(Real Time Location System) 기술을 활용하여 기존 YT Pooling Operation의 제약사항을 해결하는 새로운 개념의 YT Dynamic Operation 모델을 세안한다.

Compound-Type Hybrid Energy Storage System and Its Mode Control Strategy for Electric Vehicles

  • This paper proposes a novel compound-type hybrid energy storage system (HESS) that inherits the unique advantages of both battery/supercapacitor (SC) and the SC/battery HESSs for electric vehicles (EVs). Eight operation modes are designed to match this system. A mode control strategy is developed for this HESS on the basis of these modes, and five classes of operation modes are established to simplify this strategy. The mode control strategy focuses on high operating efficiency and high power output. Furthermore, the compound-type HESS is designed such that the SC is the main priority in braking energy absorption. Thus, this HESS can operate efficiently and extend battery life. Simulation results also show that the compound-type HESS can not only supply adequate power to the motor inverter but can also determine suitable operation modes in corresponding conditions. Experimental results demonstrate that this HESS can extend battery life as well. The overall efficiency of the compound-type HESS is higher than those of the battery/SC and the SC/battery HESSs.

  • A study on electrical and electronic equipment will occur in the atmosphere, which is essential to cut the power to prevent the waste of power by power measurement technology development and to develop the technology to do this operation is the main core of standby power to detect and block it and return the configured for software and hardware, while the actual construction to ensure stability through field testing and debugging of problems improved accordingly, as well as ease of installation and so it could be done while the test. In addition, in terms of basic hardware switching of standby power when blocking, reducing stress and ensure stable operation and circuit design, power off and back to ensure stable operation even when a protection circuit is applied.

High Power Continuous-Wave and Graphene Q-switched Operation of Er:YAG Ceramic Lasers at ~1.6 ㎛

  • We report on high-power continuous-wave operations of an Er:YAG ceramic laser in-band pumped by a cladding-pumped Er,Yb fiber laser at 1532 nm. With an output coupler of 10% transmission, the ceramic laser yielded 16.7 W of continuous-wave output at 1645 nm for 28.8 W of incident pump power, corresponding to a slope efficiency of 61.0% with respect to the incident pump power. The lasing wavelength switched to 1617 nm when output couplers of > 20% transmission were used. Up to 16.2 W of 1617 nm output was generated for 33.0 W of incident pump power, corresponding to a slope efficiency of 51.8%. Graphene Q-switched operation of Er:YAG cermic laser at 1645 nm was also demonstrated with stable pulses of 30-74 kHz repetition rates and 1.5-6.4 ${\mu}s$ pulse widths.

  • This paper proposes a method to adjust the turn ratio of a transformer for the high-efficiency operation of an LLC converter with a wide input range in a wired/wireless integrated charging system for electric vehicles. The characteristics of the inductive power transfer converter in the integrated charging system are analyzed to design the LLC converter, and the DC-link voltage range is derived. The aspect of voltage gain following each parameter of the LLC converter is analyzed, and the resonant network and transformer are designed. Based on the designed parameters, the feasibility of the design and control method is verified by implementing the operation of the LLC converter according to the DC-link and battery voltages.
