4-PAM signaling을 이용한 high speed serial link transmitter (High Speed Serial Link Transmitter Using 4-PAM Signaling)

  • 본 논문은 multi-level signaling을 이용한 high speed serial link transmitter에 관하여 제안하였다. High speed serial link에서 수 Gb/s를 달성하기 위해 4-pulse amplitude modulation (PAM) 을 사용하였다. 4-PAM은 4개의 level로 한 symbol time에 2 bit data를 전송함으로써 binary signaling보다 2배 빠른 data 전송이 가능해졌다. 제안된 4-PAM transmitter는 전압 output 대신 전류 output을 생성하며 이로 인해 driver의 switching time이 빨라져서 더 높은 속도의 transmitter를 구현할 수 있었다. $2^5-1$ pseudo-random bit sequence (PRBS) 생성기는 built-in self test (BIST)를 하기 위해 on-chip으로 설계되었다. 본 연구는 동부 하이텍 $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS 공정을 통하여 설계되었으며 1.8 V supply voltage에서 eye 크기가 160 mV 이고 최대 동작 속도는 8 Gb/s이다. 칩 전체 면적은 $0.7\times0.6mm^2$이며 전력 소모는 98 mW이다.

  • The transmission system of high speed train serve in the severe condition compared with those of other trains, namely, they have to transmit high power to run with high speed and they have to make maximum use of the limited space. To clarify the strength of gear for Korea High-speed train, a bending fatigue test is performed for the output gear of axle gear reduction unit. This paper reports the reviews of bending fatigue strength test method and the test results of output gear of axle gear reduction unit for high speed train.

  • For permanent magnet brushless DC motors used for high speed fuel pumps, torque ripple is an important origin of vibration, acoustic noise and speed fluctuation. In this paper, the output torque profile of a PM motor with one phase energized is decomposed into the commutation torque, the reluctance torque and the armature reaction torque according to their source origins. It verifies that the output torque profile is qualitatively equivalent to the BEMF profile for low reluctance motors. This paper discusses the effect of magnet pole shaping and magnet arc length on the output torque and torque ripple. A magnet edge shaping is proposed to design a trapezoidal BEMF motor without torque ripple, with minimal sacrifice of the maximum output torque.

  • This paper proposes the Systematic Design Methodology of the Korean High Speed Train. High Speed Train do not operate in isolation and are part of a rail system which is influenced through input and output effects from the environment and from the neighbouring system. To fulfil its overall desired function, such input and output relationships between the systems must be considered in the system boundary conditions. Therefore, the overall interrelationship of all these effects has to be carefully considered during the design process. Here proposed methodology may provide a guide line and criteria for the systematic problem solving method of that highly complex High Speed Train System.

  • This paper proposes a magnetic analysis model and design method of transformer for the high-speed EMU. It has a many part of the consideration in design because the transformer in high-speed train has the multiple output. Also the output characteristic, weight, and size of transformer is an important factor. This research proposes a design method of transformer in high-speed EMU. And it is easy to design by using the analysis model in design the transformer through the establishment of the magnetic analysis model.

  • Magnetic encoder with relatively low pulse per rotation is generally used for detecting speed of the high-speed rotating machine. It is due to the fact of the mechanical problems of vibration and bearing stiffness and also the limit of maximum output pulse of the mounted encoder. The magnetic encoder is divided into two types, that is, toothed gear-wheel method and magnetic wheel method according to the shape of the rotation disk. In case of detecting speed by the tooth gear-wheel, the encoder itself can be acted as the additional inertia where the number of tooth determining the output pulse and the width of the wheel detecting the change of the magnetic flux density are relatively enough large considering the volume of the rotating machine. While the magnetic wheel method has the limit of the magnetizing number of the ring magnet, there is relatively few, if nv, the influence of inertia on the machine. In this paper, it is proposed a simple magnetic wheel encoder suited for the high speed rotating machine and the method of signal processing and the output characteristics are examined through the V/F operation of max 48,000(rpm) and 2.4(KW) spindle motor.

  • In this paper, the charge control with the input voltage feedback is proposed for the input series-output series-output parallel connected converter configuration for the high speed train power system application. This control scheme accomplishes the output current sharing for the output-parallel connected modules as well as the input voltage sharing for the input series connected modules for all operating conditions including the transients. It also offers the robustness for the input voltage sharing control according to the component value mismatches among the modules. And this configuration enables the usage of MOSFET for a high voltage system allowing a higher switching frequency for lighter system weight and smaller size. The performance of the proposed scheme is verified through the experimental results.

110kW급 고출력 밀도형 PMSM의 손실 저감을 통한 고효율 설계에 대한 연구 (Study on the High Efficiency Design through the Loss Reduction of the 110kW Class High-output Density PMSM)

  • In this paper, 110kW high output density, high efficiency Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor which can be applied on tram’s traction system is introduced, along with its output and loss characteristics. The motor model is 2pole 18slot model and its size has been reduced through the high speed for high output density. Especially, structure and retainer sleeve structure is applied to its structure, which is also appropriate for high speed rotation. This kind of structure has eddy current loss problem on the surface of rotor, which must be reduced for high output density design. This study has designed the most optimized additional design parameter in order to improve the output characteristics and efficiency of previous produced 2pole 18 slot 110kW motor model and how the width of airgap affects from the loss perspective is mainly analyzed. Finally, the analysis on the extent of the efficiency improvement effect compared to the previous model has performed through electromagnetic FEM analysis. The influence of airgap flux density distribution has also been thoroughly examined.
