벤더형 고응답 압전밸브의 주파수 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Frequency Characteristics of a Bender Type High-Speed Piezoelectric Pneumatic Valve)

  • Two kinds of piezoelectric actuator are applied to the valve for controlling the direction, the flow and the pressure of the fluid. One is a stack type piezoelectric actuator which has very fast response characteristics but very tiny displacement. The other is a bender type piezoelectric actuator which has also fast response characteristics but lower than the stack type one, and has longer displacement than the stack type one. So, the bender type piezoelectric actuator has advantage to apply to the valve for controlling a large amount of flow and fast on-off operating. In this study, the bender type piezoelectric pneumatic valve for color sorter is designed and fabricated. The new type high speed piezo valve with the both side supporting mechanism for high operating frequency and high reliability is discussed for separating the foreign body from the grains. Finally, the performance characteristics of a fabricated valve are analyzed and the frequency characteristics are also discussed for substituting the conventional type solenoid actuator.

주기적 연료공급에 따른 화염거동에 관한 실험적 연구 (An experimental study on flame characteristics with periodical fuel supply)

  • Flame characteristics of periodic fuel jets were studied experimentally by supplying the fuel periodically using solenoid valve. Flame was observed using a high speed camera, a 35 mm camera and a cathetometer. Hot-wire ananometer was used to meature the speed of fuel flow at the nozzle exit to analyze the flow characteristics. Various types of flame characteristics such as the flame lift-off and extinction were observed for different ranges of period, duty, and flow rate, but the flame shape was not affected much by the variation in the flow rate. Decreasing duty of the pulses applied to the solenoid valve promotes lift-off and enhances premixed flame characteristics.

고주파수 PWM제어를 이용한 ABS의 맥동 저감에 관한 연구 (A Study on Falling Pressure Surge of ABS Using High Frequency PWM Control)

  • The solenoid valve in ABS hydraulic modulator is a two directional on-off valve and is controlled by around 100Hz high speed pulse width modulation. When the valve is switched from open state to closed state, noise and vibration due to pressure surge phenomena in the hydraulic line and wheel cylinder are made. In this study, we identify Pressure surge phenomenon in the braking process of a ABS, and investigate the way to reduce the phenomenon. For the purpose of theoretical analysis on the pressure surge in the closed state hydraulic line, characteristic curve method based on wave equation was utilized. To reduce the surge, high frequency control of 20kHz was attempted. The result showed that the surge pressure of 50% was reduced compared to one observed in the low frequency control. Duty variation of high frequency can control current of solenoid valve and prevent sudden change of displacement.

When the inlet valve is switched from open state to closed state, there are braking force degration, noise and vibration due to pressure surge phenomena in the hydraulic line and wheel cylinder. In this study, identifies pressure surge phenomenon in the braking process of a ABS, and investigates the way to reduce the phenomenon. For the purpose theoretical analysis on the pressure surge in the closed state hydraulic line, characteristic curve method based on wave equation was utilized. During this analysis, we could find pressure surge characteristics change due to hydraulic line change and PWM control conditions. In conclusion, by using the results of this study for the pressure surge prediction and reduction method, we could expect braking performance enhancement in Anti-Lock Braking System.

  • This study describes the merits of PWM control of hydraulic system using high speed on-off valves. Generally, Electro-hydraulic valves can be classified into two classification: valves which are controlled by analog signal and which are controlled by digital. The former includes hydraulic servo valves and proportional valves which require A/D converters as interface to digital computer and too costly and sensitive to oil contamination because of complexity in structures. The latter includes high speed on-off valves which do not require A/D converters because they are normally operated in a pulse width modulation(PWM) method, and are low in price and robust to oil contamination because of their simple structures. The objectives of this study is to analyze the limit cycle which regularly appear in the position control system using 2/2way high speed on-off valves and to give a criterion for the stability of this system. The nonlinear characteristics of PWM and cylinder friction of this system are described by harmonic linearization and the effects of parameter variations to the system stability are simulated.

  • Put Recently, development of micro valves that operate by compressed air has received significant attention in the fields of the micro fluid chip for medical applications or production lines of semi-conduct chip for electronic goods. Especially it is required that high-speed responsibility and lower power in optimal design of these micro valves. The primary objective of this study is to compare the optimally designed Solenoid Valve with the actually produced one which can highly improve the efficiency by providing optimal current according to mechanical load.

  • In this paper, proportional modulator which controls the second pressure of the pneumatic system was studied and proportional operating of modulator was gotten by two digital valves that have a fast dynamic characteristics and were controlled by PWM operating method. In order to more precision pressure control, this modulator consist of not only high speed two digital valves but also pressure sensor, measurement equipment and controller having a microprocessing function. In this study, for the development of the new proportional modulator, various research such as PWM control method, test equipment manufacturing, testing and evaluation were accomplished.
