Bare Glass Inspection System using Line Scan Camera

  • Various defects are found in FPD (Flat Panel Display) manufacturing process. So detecting these defects early and reprocessing them is an important factor that reduces the cost of production. In this paper, the bare glass inspection system for the FPD which is the early process inspection system in the FPD manufacturing process is designed and implemented using the high performance and accuracy CCD line scan camera. For the preprocessing of the high speed line image data, the Image Processing Part (IPP) is designed and implemented using high performance DSP (Digital signal Processor), FIFO (First in First out), FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) and the Data Management and System Control part are implemented using ARM (Advanced RISC Machine) processor to control many IPP and cameras and to provide remote users with processed data. For evaluating implemented system, experiment environment which has an area camera for reviewing and moving shelf is made.

The Effects of Substrate, Metal-line, and Surface Material on the Performance of RFID Tag Antenna

  • We investigated the effects of substrate, metal-line, and surface material on the performance of radio frequency identification(RFID) tag antenna using a tag antenna with a meander line radiator and T-matching network. The results showed that readability of the tag antenna with a thin high-loss substrate could be increased so that it was similar to that of a low-loss substrate if the substrate was very thin. The readability of the tag antenna decreased significantly when the metal line was thinner than the skin depth. The readability of the tag also decreased drastically when the tag was attached to high-permittivity high-loss target objects.

고출력 전자기파의 커플링 효과에 의한 마이크로컨트롤러 소자의 피해 (The Damage of Microcontroller Devices due to Coupling Effects by High Power Electromagnetic Wave)

  • We investigated the damage effects of microcontroller devices under high power electromagnetic(HPEM) wave. HPEM wave was radiated from the open-ended standard rectangular waveguide(WR-340) to free space. The influence of different reset-, clock-, data-, and power supply-line lengths has been tested. The susceptibility of the tested microcontroller devices was in general much influenced by clock-, reset-, and power supply-line length, little influenced by data-line length. Further the line length was increased, the malfunction threshold was decreased as expected, because more energy couples to the devices. The surfaces of the destroyed microcontroller devices were removed and the chip conditions were investigated with microscope. The microscopic analysis of the damaged devices showed component and bondwire destructions such as breakthroughs and melting due to thermal effects.

  • This paper presents the rapid and accurate algorithm for fault discrimination in transmission lines. When faults occur in transmission lines, fault discrimination is very important. If high impedance faults occur in transmission lines, it cannot be detected by overcurrent relays. The method using current and voltage cannot discriminate high impedance fault. Because of this reason this paper uses voltage and zero sequence current, and the proposed algorithm uses fuzzy logic method. This algorithm uses voltage and zero sequence current per period in case of faults. Single line ground fault and three-phase fault can be detective using voltage. Two-line ground fault and line to line fault and high impedance can be detected using zero sequence current. To prove the performance of the algorithm, it test algorithm with signal obtained from ATPDraw simulation.

  • Partial discharge testing are rapidly becoming the most powerful tool to assess the condition of high voltage generator and motor stator windings. Recently, on-line monitoring scheme with trending technique is widely applied in insulation diagnosis. This paper describes the on-line partial discharge detecting techniques in the high voltage motor stator windings. Also, on-line monitoring system for an insulation diagnosis are proposed.

  • In case of high speed and high mobility multibody tracked vehicle, it is hard to develop the realtime simulation model for track tension control because of the hundreds of highly nonlinear equations. In order to design more trustworthy realtime simulator for track tension control, it is necessary to use off-line tracked vehicle model. In this study, a step by step procedure is presented to develop realtime simulation model based on off-line tracked vehicle model. Simulation results show that modified off-line multibody tracked vehicle model can be used for real time simulation to control the track tension.

  • 시스템의 동작 속도가 빨라짐에 따라 인쇄 회로 기판(PCB: printed circuit board)에서 신호 무결성 문제가 매우 중요해지고 있다. 지금까지는 관습적으로 PCB 면적을 줄이고 가격을 낮추도록 설계하는데 치중해왔다. 그러나 초고속으로 동작하는 PCB에서는 유전체 특성, 배선 폭, 배선 간격, 임피던스 정합 등을 고려하여 정밀하고 세심하게 설계하지 않으면 제대로 동작하기 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 초고속 PCB에서 생기는 여러 가지 문제점과 이를 완화할 수 있는 다양한 설계 기법에 대해 살펴본다.

Analysis of Output Pulse of High Voltage and Nanosecond Blumlein Pulse Generator

  • A high voltage and nanosecond Blumlein pulse generator has been developed to produce an output pulse whose voltage level is greater than 250 kV and pulse duration 5 ns. The generator consists of various components such as a charging circuit, a pulse transformer, and a spark gap switch. As a heart of the generator, a Blumlein pulse forming line has been constructed in the cylindrical form using three cylindrical aluminum electrodes that are placed concentrically. Unlike the ideal Blumlein line, the output pulse of an actual Blumlein line may be affected by stray inductances and capacitances of switching and charging components, thereby degrading the performance of the generator. In this paper, PSPICE simulations have been performed to examine effects of stray inductances and capacitances on waveforms of output pulses. Simulation results show that the pulse waveform is significantly distorted mainly by the stray inductance of the spark gap switch.

초고속 OCT응용을 위한 위상변조 광지연단 (Phase Modulation Optical Delay Line for Ultrafast OCT Application)

  • 광위상변조기를 이용하여 OCT용 초고속 광지연단을 설계하고 수치해석을 수행하였다. 수치해석은 electro-optic 위상 변조기에 1310nm, 10ps의 펄스폭을 갖는 레이저 광원을 적용하여 수행하였다. 수치해석결과로 500MHz의 변조 주파수일때 19ps의 시간 지연을 얻었으며, 이는 기존의 기계적 검출 방식(수십kHz)의 OCT장치에 비해 1000배이상 빠른 검출이 가능할 것으로 예상된다.

시운전 시험을 통한 한국형 고속전철 차체진동 특성의 분석 및 평가 (Analysis and Evaluation of Body Vibration Characteristics for Korean High Speed Train through On-line Test)

  • The prototype of Korean high speed train (HSR350), composed of two power cars, two motorized cars and three trailer cars, has been designed, fabricated and tested. In this paper, the body vibration has been reviewed from the viewpoint of the vehicle's safety and the vibration limits for components and sub-assemblies mounted on the car-body using by the experimental method. And, the dynamic characteristics, such as jerk, natural mode and kinematic mode, have been reviewed. The KHST has been run to 300 km/h in the KTX line and the results of on-line test show that it has no problems in the vehicle's safety and the vibration limits. And the characteristics of body vibrations has been predicted at 350 km/h by fitting curve about the measured acceleration signals.
