An Ortho-image is the production of removed geometrical displacement, which is generated the aerial image distortion and the relief displacement, etc., using the DSM (Digital Surface Model). Accordingly, the resolution of raw image and the accuracy of DSM will has significant impacts on the ortho-image accuracy. Since the latest DMCII250 aerial camera delivers the high resolution images with five centimeters Ground Sampling Distance(GSD), it expects to generate the high density point clouds and the high quality ortho-images. Therefore, this research has planned for reviewing the potentiality and accuracy of high quality ortho-image production. Following to proceed the research, DSM has been produced through the high density point cloud extracted from DMCII250 aerial image to supply of high density DSM by creation of ortho-image. The research results has been identified that images with the DSM brought out higher degrees in positional accuracy and quality of ortho-image, compared with the ortho-image, produced from the existing digital terrain map or DSM data.

SGM (Semi Global Matching) can be used to find all the conjugate points between stereo images. Therefore, it enables high-density DSM (Digital Surface Model) production from high-resolution satellite images. However, water, shadows, and occlusion areas cause mismatching of the surrounding points in this method. Particularly, in buildings with large-parallax and elongated-shapes such as a Korean style apartment, it is difficult to reconstruct the 3D building even if the SGM method is applied to a high-resolution 50cm satellite image. This study proposed and performed the SGM technique with a classified image and an edge image from the IKONOS-2 satellite stereo-image with a 1m resolution to produce DSM. It was compared with the DSMs from the general SGM and the high-density ABM (Area Based Matching) matching of ERDAS software. The results of the apartment DSM by the proposed method were the best in the test area. As a result, despite the image having a resolution of 1m, the outline of the building DSM could be expressed more clearly than the existing method.

The advantage of the lidar data is in fast acquisition and process time as well as in high accuracy and high point density. However lidar data itself is difficult to classify the earth surface because lidar data is in the form of irregularly distributed point clouds. In this study, we investigated land cover classification using both lidar data and optical image through a supervised classification method. Firstly, we generated 1m grid DSM and DEM image and then nDSM was produced by using DSM and DEM. In addition, we had made intensity image using the intensity value of lidar data. As for optical images, the red, blue, green band of CCD image are used. Moreover, a NDVI image using a red band of the CCD image and infrared band of IKONOS image is generated. The experimental results showed that land cover classification with lidar data and optical image together could reach to the accuracy of 74.0%. To improve classification accuracy, we further performed re-classification of shadow area and water body as well as forest and building area. The final classification accuracy was 81.8%.
Previously, we reported that a diet including sesame meal (SM) increased plasma total and high-density lipoprotein (HDL)-cholesterol concentrations in goats. In the present study, the components in the sesame meal that can increase plasma total and HDL-cholesterol concentrations have been examined. In experiment 1, we gave goats defatted sesame meal diet (DSM) to investigate the influence of ether extract fraction remained in sesame meal. Corn gluten meal diet (CGM) was also fed to goats as a high-protein diet to examine the influence of high dietary protein level caused by usage of sesame meal. Plasma total and HDL-cholesterol concentrations of goats fed DSM and CGM did not change during experimental periods though they were elevated by feeding SM. In experiment 2, the influence of sesame oil and corn oil added in diets on plasma total and HDL-cholesterol concentrations in goats was investigated. Plasma total and HDL-cholesterol concentrations were increased by feeding both corn oil diet and sesame oil diet. In conclusion, the increase in plasma HDL-cholesterol concentration by feeding sesame meal was resulted by the effect of ether extract fraction including sesame oil or some lipid-soluble components remained in sesame meal.

Drone images with high spatial resolution are emerging as an alternative to previous studies with extraction limits in high density forests. Individual tree in the dense forests were extracted from drone images. To detect the individual tree extracted through the image segmentation process, the image segmentation results were compared between the combination of DSM and all R,G,B band and the combination of DSM and R,G,B band separately. The changes in the tree density of a deciduous forest was experimented by time and image. Especially the image of May when the forests are dense, among the images of March, April, May, the individual tree extraction rate based on the trees surveyed on the site was 50%. The analysis results of the width of crown showed that the RMSE was less than 1.5m, which was the best result. For extraction of the experimental area, the two sizes of medium and small trees were extracted, and the extraction accuracy of the small trees was higher. The forest tree volume and forest biomass could be estimated if the tree height is extracted based on the above data and the DBH(diameter at breast height) is estimated using the relational expression between crown width and DBH.

This study evaluated the architectural density of urban district using airborne laser scanning(ALS) that is a method used in urban planning, water resources and disaster prevention with high interest recently. First, digital elevation model(DEM) and digital surface model(DSM) was constructed from Light detection and ranging(LiDAR). For getting the height of building, ZONALMEAN filter was used in DEM and ZONALMAJORITY filter was used in DSM. This study compared the floor from filtering with the floor from survey and got standard error, which is ${\pm}0.199$ floor. Also, through the overlay and statistical analysis of total-area layer and zone layer, we could present floor area ratio by zone. As a result of comparison with floor area ratio between airborne laser scanning data and survey data, the standard error of floor area ratio shows ${\pm}2.68%$. Therefore, we expect that airborne laser scanning data can be a very efficient source to decision makers who set up landuse plan in near future.

With precise sensor position, attitude element, and imaging resolution, a simulated geospatial image can be generated. In this study, a satellite image is simulated using SPOT ortho-image and global elevation data, and the geometric similarity between original and simulated images is analyzed. Using a SPOT panchromatic image and high-density elevation data from a 1/5K digital topographic map data an ortho-image with 10-meter resolution was produced. The simulated image was then generated by exterior orientation parameters and global elevation data (SRTM1, GDEM2). Experimental results showed that (1) the agreement of the image simulation between pixel location from the SRTM1/GDEM2 and high-resolution elevation data is above 99% within one pixel; (2) SRTM1 is closer than GDEM2 to high-resolution elevation data; (3) the location of error occurrence is caused by the elevation difference of topographical objects between high-density elevation data generated from the Digital Terrain Model (DTM) and Digital Surface Model (DSM)-based global elevation data. Error occurrences were typically found at river boundaries, in urban areas, and in forests. In conclusion, this study showed that global elevation data are of practical use in generating simulated images with 10-meter resolution.

Assessment of soil carbon stock is essential for climate change mitigation and soil fertility. The digital soil mapping (DSM) is well known as a general technique to estimate the soil carbon stocks and upgrade previous soil maps. The aim of this study is to calculate the soil carbon stock in the top soil layer (0 to 30 cm) in Jeolla Province of South Korea using the DSM technique. To predict spatial carbon stock, we used Cubist, which a data-mining algorithm model base on tree regression. Soil samples (130 in total) were collected from three depths (0 to 10 cm, 10 to 20 cm, 20 to 30 cm) considering spatial distribution in Jeolla Province. These data were randomly divided into two sets for model calibration (70%) and validation (30%). The results showed that clay content, topographic wetness index (TWI), and digital elevation model (DEM) were the most important environmental covariate predictors of soil carbon stock. The predicted average soil carbon density was 3.88 kg·m-2. The R2 value representing the model's performance was 0.6, which was relatively high compared to a previous study. The total soil carbon stocks at a depth of 0 to 30 cm in Jeolla Province were estimated to be about 81 megatons.
Laser scanning is a new technology for obtaining Digital Surface Models(DSM) of the earth surface. It is a fast method for sampling the earth surface with high density and high point accuracy. This paper is for buildings extraction from LiDAR points data. The core part of building construction is based on a parameters filter for distinguishing between terrain and non-terrain laser points. The 3D geometrical properties of the building facades are obtained based on plane fitting using least-squares adjustment. The reconstruction part of the procedure is based on the adjacency among the roof facades. Primitive extraction and facade intersections are used for building reconstruction. For overcome the difficulty just reconstruct of laser points data used with digital camera images. Also, 3D buildings of city area reconstructed using digital map. Finally, In this paper show 3D building Modeling using digital map and LiDAR data.
High-resolution aerial color image offers great possibilities for geometric and semantic information for spatial data generation. However, shadow casts by buildings and trees in high-density urban areas obscure much of the information in the image giving rise to potentially inaccurate classification and inexact feature extraction. Though many researches have been implemented for solving shadow casts, few studies have been carried out about the extraction of features hindered by shadows from aerial color images in urban areas. This paper presents a asphalt road boundary extraction technique that combines information from aerial color image and LIDAR (LIght Detection And Ranging) data. The following steps have been performed to remove shadow effects and to extract road boundary from the image. First, the shadow regions of the aerial color image are precisely located using LEAR DSM (Digital Surface Model) and solar positions. Second, shadow regions assumed as road are corrected by shadow path reconstruction algorithms. After that, asphalt road boundary extraction is implemented by segmentation and edge detection. Finally, asphalt road boundary lines are extracted as vector data by vectorization technique. The experimental results showed that this approach was effective and great potential advantages.
