MnTe layers of high crystalline quality were successfully grown on Si(100) : B and Si(111) substrates by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE). Under tellurium-rich condition and the substrate temperature around $400^{\circ}C$, a layer thickness of $700{\AA}$ could be easily obtained with the growth rate of $1.1 {\AA}/s$. We investigated the structural, magnetic and transport properties of MnTe layers by using x-ray diffraction (XRD), superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) magnetometry, and physical properties measurement system (PPMS). Characterization of MnTe layers on Si(100) : B and Si(111) substrates by XRD revealed a hexagonal structure of polycrystals with lattice parameters, ${\alpha}=4.143{\pm}0.001{\AA}\;and\;c=6.707{\pm}0.001{\AA}$. Investigation of magnetic and transport properties of MnTe films showed anomalies unlike antiferromagnetic powder MnTe. The temperature dependence of the magnetization data taken in zero-field-tooling (ZFC) and field-cooling (FC) conditions indicates three magnetic transitions at around 21, 49, and 210 K as well as the great irreversibility between ZFC and FC magnetization in the films. These anomalies are attributable to a magnetic-elastic coupling in the films. Magnetization measurements indicate ferromagnetic behaviour with hysteresis loops at 5 and 300 K for MnTe polycrystalline film. The coercivity ($H_c$) values at 5 and 300 K are 55 and 44 Oe, respectively. In electro-transport measurements, the temperature dependence of resistivity revealed a noticeable semiconducting behaviours and showed conduction via Mott variable range hopping at low temperatures.

The accelerated cooling rate associated with vitrification reduces injuries attributed to cryopreservation and improves the post-freezing developmental competence of vitrified embryos. In this study, embryos were vitrified and warmed and morphologically evaluated for their development to blastocysts. Survival rates between the fresh ($96.7%{\pm}3.8%$) and vitrified embryos ($90.7%{\pm}5.1%$) did not differ significantly (P>0.05). The mitochondrial membrane potential of fresh control cells measured by 5,5',6,6'-tetrachloro-1,1',3,3'-tetraethylbenzimidazolyl carbocyanide iodide staining was similar to that of cryoprotected and vitrified embryos. Mitochondrial staining with rhodamine 123 did not differ among the fresh, cryoprotected, and vitrified embryos. Moreover, the distribution of $H_2O_2$, assessed by 2',7'-dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate staining, did not differ among the groups. The results showed that the developmental rate did not differ significantly among the fresh ($87.8%{\pm}11.3%$), cryoprotected ($83.2%{\pm}7.6%$), and vitrified 2-cell embryos ($75.8%{\pm}14.2%$). The mean number of the inner cell mass (ICM), trophectoderm (TE), and apoptotic cells was counted and statistically compared, and although the number of ICM and TE was decreased in the cryoprotected and vitrified embryos, there were no significant differences among the groups (P>0.05). During the cultivation period, randomly selected blastocysts from each group were stained using either 4',6-diamidino-2-phenylindole and bisbenzimide or the terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated dUTP nick-end labeling technique. The incidence of apoptosis appeared to be almost identical in all the groups. Droplet vitrification could subsequently lead to high survival and developmental rates of cryopreserved mouse embryos.

The heating load using solar hot water is lower in summer than in the other seasons. This decreased heating load leads to the overheating solar collectors and related components. To prevent overheating of the solar collectors, air cooling and shading shields were used. On the other hand, it requires additional mechanical components, and reduces the system reliability. The geothermal heat dump system to release the high temperature heat (over $150^{\circ}C$) transferred from the heat pipe solar collectors was investigated in the present study. Research on the heat dump to cool the solar collector is rare. Therefore, the present study was carried out to collect possible data of a geothermal heat dump to cool the solar collector. A helical type geothermal heat exchanger was buried at a 1.2m depth. Experimentally and numerically, the geothermal heat dump was investigated in terms of the effects of parameters, such as the quantity of solar radiation, aperture area of the collector and the mass flow rate. A pipe length of 50m on the geothermal heat exchanger was suitable with a 0.33 kg/s flow rate. The water reservoir was a possible co-operation solution linked to the geothermal heat exchanger.

Injection molding is a method for manufacturing many products, wherein a plasticized resin is injected into a mold at high pressure and hardened. According to the method, the product can be manufactured into various forms, and the mass production of up to tens of thousands of products is possible. The purpose of this study was to determine the process conditions for manufacturing a door latch for automobiles, through an analysis of the injection molding method. To calculate an appropriate injection flow for injection molding, a primary analysis for comparing the injection time, pressure, flow pattern, consolidation range, shear stress, shear rate, and weld line, as well as a secondary analysis for determining the conditions for stabilizing the molding temperature, holding pressure, and cooling process, were conducted. The characteristics of injection molding, and their influence on the product quality are discussed. No weld line and pores were observed on the products that had been manufactured based on the process conditions determined above. In addition, there were no flaws regarding the deformation compared to the prototype. Therefore, the manufacture of a product under the conditions determined in this study can reduce the defect rate compared to the existing production, and the process is also more competitive due to reduced production time.
Background: The Legionella case detection and notification rate have increased in public artificial water environments where people visit, including large buildings, public baths, and hospitals. Objectives: In this study, the distribution of Legionella and its epidemiologic characteristics were analyzed in the water systems of public facilities in Chungcheongnam-do Province in South Korea. Methods: Culture and PCR analysis were performed on 2,991 environmental water system samples collected from 2017 to 2019, and associations with year, facilities, seasons, and temperature of water system were statistically analyzed by using R-Studio for Windows. Descriptive data was compared using chi-square tests and independent t-tests. Results: The detection rate of Legionella increased from 3.1% in 2017 to 10.3% in 2019, appearing most frequently in the order of public baths, large-scale buildings, hospitals, and apartments. It was detected mainly in summer from June to August, over 1.0×103 CFU/L on average in 133 cases (66.5%). Lots of germs were detected in bathtub water, cooling tower water, and warm water (p<0.001), and it was detected at higher rates in the cities where multipurpose facilities were concentrated than in rural areas (p=0.018). Conclusions: This study suggests that continuous monitoring and control are required for Legionella in the water system environment of high risk facilities. Moreover, these results will be helpful to prepare efficient management plans to prevent the Legionellosis that occurs in Chungcheongnam-do Province.
This study was conducted to apply with an air duct for the cooling and a utilizing cultivating method that uses the fruiting node and the defoliation to the high-temperature vertical and hydroponic cultivation of the oriental melon. The lower fruiting node (LF) was to remove all third vines generated from 5 nodes of a secondary vine. The higher fruiting node (HF) was fruiting on the third vine generated from a first node of the third vine. The direction of the stem string; upward (UW), downward (DW). Four treatment conditions were applied with the LF-UW, LF-DW, HF-UW (control), and HF-DW. The leaf age of melon leaves was measured for photosynthesis at 3 days intervals, and the fruit characteristic was conducted on 79 fruits in each treatment. The photosynthesis rate steadily increased after leaf development, reaching 20.8 μmol CO2·m-2·s-1 on the 10 days, gradually increasing to 21.3 μmol CO2·m-2·s-1 on the 19 days, and reaching 23.4 μmol CO2·m-2·s-1 on the 32 days. After that, it lowered to 16.8 μmol CO2·m-2·s-1 on the 38 days and dropped significantly to 7.6 μmol CO2·m-2·s-1 on the 47 days. As a result of the fruit characteristics by fruiting nodes, the treatments of the fruit length was 12.6-13.4 cm, respectively, which was significant, and the fruit width was 7.9- 8.6 cm, respectively, was not significant. The soluble content ranged from 12.9 to 15.7°Brix, and the significance of all treatments, and higher than of LF-DW and HF-UW. The photosynthesis rate of melon leaves was good until 32 days after leaf development, but after that, the rate decreased. As for fruit quality, it was conformed that melons can be cultivated at the LF because the fruit enlargement and soluble content dose not decrease even when set at the LF. Results indicated that those can be used for LF and defoliation in the development of vertical and hydroponic cultivation method in high-temperature season.

In closed plant production system like plant factory, changes in environmental factors should be identified for conducting efficient environmental control as well as predicting energy consumption. Since high relative humidity (RH) is essential for crop production in the plant factory, transpiration is closely related with RH and should be quantified. In this study, four varieties of lettuces (Lactuca sativa L.) were grown in a plant factory, and the leaf areas and transpiration rates of the plants according to DAT (day after transplanting) were measured. The coefficients of the simplified Penman-Monteith equation were calibrated in order to calculate the transpiration rate in the plant factory and the total amount of transpiration during cultivation period was predicted by simulation. The following model was used: $E_d=a*(1-e^{-k*LAI})*RAD_{in}+b*LAI*VPD_d$ (at daytime) and $E_n=b*LAI*VPD_n$ (at nighttime) for estimating transpiration of the lettuce in the plant factory. Leaf area and transpiration rate increased with DAT as exponential growth. Proportional relationship was obtained between leaf area and transpiration rate. Total amounts of transpiration of lettuces grown in plant factory could be obtained by the models with high $r^2$ values. The results indicated the simplified Penman-Monteith equation could be used to predict water requirements as well as heating and cooling loads required in plant factory system.
The vacuum systems of PLS linac provides average pressure of $2.6\times 10^{-6}$Pa under high power microwave of 54 MW peak with 4.1 $\mu \textrm s$ pulse width and 10 Hz repetition rates. The base pressure of system is$2.4\times 10^{-6}$Pa with 45$^{\circ}C$ cooling water. The outgassing rate of the system is decreased from $3.0\times 10^{-11}Torr-l/sec-\textrm{cm}^2$ at the initial stage after installation to $1\times 10^{-12}Torr-l/sec-\textrm{cm}^2$ at present. Total accumulated microwave energy dose is about 140 GJ per module. All ion pumps are working under saturated regime and effective pumping speeds of 60 I/s, 230 I/s ion pumps are 45 I/s, 65 I/s, 140 I/s under the operating range. Main problems occurred in recent year are troubles of ion pump controller and vacuum gauge controller, vacuum leak of energy doubler window and electron gun ceramic, and water leak in the dummy load of acceleraing columns. Total of 41 troubles with 140. 8 hours down time give good system availability of 98%. Down time can be reduced by high power waveguide valves and water dummy loads under development, and then availability is expected to be increased up to 99.5%.
In order to overcome these disadvantages, the halogen light source, which was previously used as a vehicle fog light, has increased power consumption and a short lifetime, and thus, an automobile light source is gradually being replaced with an LED. However, when the vehicle LED fog light is turned on, there is a disadvantage in reducing the life of the fog lamp due to the high heat generated from the LED. The heat generated by the LED inside the fog lamp is mainly emitted by the heatsink, but most of the remaining heat is released to the outside through convection. When cooling efficiency decreases due to convection, thermal energy generates heat to lenses, reflectors, and bezels, which are the main parts of lamps, or generates high temperatures in LED, thereby shortening the life of LED fog lights. In this study, we tried to improve the heat dissipation performance by convection in addition to the heat dissipation method by heat sink, and to determine the installation location of vents that can discharge the internal air or intake the external air of LED fog lamp for vehicle. Thermal fluid analysis was performed to ensure that the optimal data were reflected in the design. The average velocity of air increased in the order of Case3 and Case2 compared to Case1, which is the existing prototype, and the increase rate of Case3 was relatively higher than that of other cases. This is because the vents installed above and below the fog lamps induce the convective phenomena generated according to the temperature difference, and the heat is efficiently discharged with the increase of the air speed.
The ODSCC detected in the TSP position of Ulchin 3&4 SGs are typical ODSCC of Alloy 600MA tubes. The causative chemical environment is formed by concentration of impurities inside the occluded region formed by the tube surface, egg crate strips, and sludge deposit there. Most cracks are detected at or near the line contacts between the tube surface and the egg crate strips. The region of dense crack population, as defined as between $4^{th}$ and $9^{th}$ TSPs, and near the center of hot leg hemisphere plane, coincided well with the region of preferential sludge deposition as defined by thermal hydraulics calculation using SGAP computer code. The cracks developed homogeneously in a wide range of SGs, so that the number of cracks detected each outage increased very rapidly since the first detection in the $8^{th}$ refueling outage. The root cause assessment focused on investigation of the difference in microstructure and manufacturing residual stress in order to reveal the cause of different susceptibilities to ODSCC among identical six units. The manufacturing residual stress as measured by XRD on OD surface and by split tube method indicated that the high residual stress of Alloy 600MA tube played a critical role in developing ODSCC. The level of residual stress showed substantial variations among the six units depending on details of straightening and OD grinding processes. Youngwang 3&4 tubes are less susceptible to ODSCC than U3 and U4 tubes because semi-continuous coarse chromium carbides are formed along the grain boundary of Y3&4 tubes, while there are finer less continuous chromium carbides in U3 and U4. The different carbide morphology is caused by the difference in cooling rate after mill anneal. There is a possibility that high chromium content in the Y3&4 tubes, still within the allowable range of Alloy 600, has made some contribution to the improved resistance to ODSCC. It is anticipated that ODSCC in Y5&6 SGs will be retarded more considerably than U3 SGs since the manufacturing residual stress in Y5&6 tubes is substantially lower than in U3 tubes, while the microstructure is similar with each other.
