  • In ad hoc network, the scarce energy management of the mobile devices has become a critical issue in order to extend the network lifetime. Current research activity for the Minimum Energy Multicast (MEM) problem has been focused on devising efficient centralized greedy algorithms for static ad hoc networks. In this paper, we consider mobile ad hoc networks(MANETs) that could provide the reliable monitoring and control of a variety of environments for remote place. Mobility of MANET would require the topology change frequently compared with a static network. • We develop a low complexity cooperative diversity protocol for low energy adaptive clustering hierarchy (LEACH) based wireless sensor networks. A cross layer approach is used to obtain spatial diversity in the physical layer. In this paper, a simple modification in clustering algorithm of the LEACH protocol is proposed to exploit virtual multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) based user cooperation. In lieu of selecting a single cluster-head at network layer, we proposed M cluster-heads in each cluster to obtain a diversity order of M in long distance communication. Due to the broadcast nature of wireless transmission, cluster-heads are able to receive data from sensor nodes at the same time. This fact ensures the synchronization required to implement a virtual MIMO based space time block code (STBC) in cluster-head to sink node transmission. An analytical method to evaluate the energy consumption based on BER curve is presented. Analysis and simulation results show that proposed cooperative LEACH protocol can save a huge amount of energy over LEACH protocol with same data rate, bit error rate, delay and bandwidth requirements. Moreover, this proposal can achieve higher order diversity with improved spectral efficiency compared to other virtual MIMO based protocols.

  • Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is a distributed Sensor network whose terminals are sensors that can sense and check the environment. Sensors are typically battery-powered and deployed in where the batteries are difficult to replace. Therefore, maximize the consumption of node energy and extend the network's life cycle are the problems that must to face. Low-energy adaptive clustering hierarchy (LEACH) protocol is an adaptive clustering topology algorithm, which can make the nodes in the network consume energy in a relatively balanced way and prolong the network lifetime. In this paper, the novel multi-objective LEACH protocol is proposed, in order to solve the proposed protocol, we design a multi-objective coupling algorithm based on bat algorithm (BA), glowworm swarm optimization algorithm (GSO) and bacterial foraging optimization algorithm (BFO). The advantages of BA, GSO and BFO are inherited in the multi-objective coupling algorithm (MBGF), which is tested on ZDT and SCH benchmarks, the results are shown the MBGF is superior. Then the multi-objective coupling algorithm is applied in the multi-objective LEACH protocol, experimental results show that the multi-objective LEACH protocol can greatly reduce the energy consumption of the node and prolong the network life cycle.

  • MANET consists of only wireless nodes having limited processing capability. It processes routing and data transmission through cooperation among each other. And it is exposed to many attack threats due to the dynamic topology by movement of nodes and multi-hop communication. Therefore, the reliability of transmitted data between nodes must be improved and security of integrity must be high. In this paper, we propose a method to increase the reliability of transmitted data by providing a secure cryptography protocol. The proposed method used a hierarchical structure to provide smooth cryptographic services. The cluster authentication node issues the cluster authentication key pair and unique key to the nodes. The nodes performs the encryption through two steps of encryption using cluster public key and block encryption using unique key. Because of this, the robustness against data forgery attacks was heightened. The superior performance of the proposed method can be confirmed through comparative experiment with the existing security routing method.

  • FlexRay is an in-vehicle network with maximum two channels and maximum transmission speed of 10Mbps per channel. FlexRay exploits TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) and FTDMA (Flexible Time division Multiple Access) to ensure real-time communication with efficient transmission, so it is used for real-time electronic control of safety-critical vehicular modules such as powertrain. This paper explains FlexRay protocol, time hierarchy, message frame, communication controller, and conformance test in detail based on ISO 17458 standard and FlexRay consortium documents.

  • MANET(Mobile Ad-hoc Network) has been proposed as a infrastructure-less network using distributed algorithm for remote environment monitoring and control. The mobility of MANET would make the topology change frequently compared with a static network and a node is resource-constrained. Hence, to improve the routing protocol in MANET, energy efficient routing protocol is required as well as considering the mobility would be needed. In this paper, we extend RODMRP(Resilient Ontology-based Dynamic Multicast Routing Protocol) structure by a modifying the level of cluster. We call this network protocol CACH-RODMRP. Our contribution consists estimating the optimal level of clustering depth with considering node position and reducing the network residual energy. The simulation results of proposal algorithm show that the energy is significantly reduced compared with the previous clustering based routing algorithm for the MANET.

  • In this paper, we propose an enhanced handoff support scheme based on network-based mobility management protocol, Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6), which is actively standardized by the IETF NETLMM working group. By utilizing the dynamic virtual hierarchy network architecture between mobile access gateways (MAGs), the proposed scheme can support network scalability and reliability to wireless access network. In addition, we propose pre-authentication process based on the policy store (PS) to support a fast and seamless handoff. We evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme in terms of handoff delay and end-to-end delay thru computer simulation. Thru, various computer simulation results, we verified the superior performance of the proposed scheme by comparing with the results of other schemes.

  • A simple modification of well known Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH) protocol is proposed to exploit cooperative diversity. Instead of selecting a single cluster-head, we propose M cluster-heads in each cluster to obtain a diversity of order M. The cluster-heads gather data from all the sensor nodes within the cluster using same technique as LEACH. Cluster-heads transmit gathered data cooperatively towards the destination or higher order cluster-head. We propose a code combining based cooperative diversity protocol which is similar to coded cooperation that maximizes the performance of the proposed cooperative LEACH protocol. The implementation of the proposed cooperative strategy is analyzed. We develop the upper bounds on bit error rate (BER) and frame error rate (FER) for our proposal. Space time block codes (STBC) are also a suitable candidate for our proposal. In this paper, we argue that the STBC performs worse than the code combining cooperation.
