In this paper, digital watermarking method using quad-tree algorithm and the lowest frequency band is proposed. The proposed algorithm searches the coefficient of the watermark by using quad-tree algorithm and inserts the watermark by the Cox's algorithm. The simulation of the proposed algorithm is implemented about the effect of various weight factors in Cox's algorithm, that of embedding watermark in each subband coefficient (HH, LH, HL), and that of embedding in the lowest frequency band (LL). As a simulation result, the bigger weight factors in Cox's algorithm show strong to noise. The watermarking performance of simultaneously embedding in HH, LH, and HL band is better than that of different cases. In addition, insertion the watermark to the LL band about $30{\sim}60%$ of all watermarks improves the watermarking performance in comparison with the case of not using the LL band.
The substituent effects in the gas-phase rearrangement of carbenes to ketenes involved in the Wolff reaction have been investigated theoretically using the AM1 method. In the initial state, carbene, there is a relatively strong vicinal n-σ* interaction between the lone pair (n) and carbonyl group (σ*). In the bridged transition state (TS), electronic charge is transferred from the migrating ring (Z-ring) toward the nonmigrating ring (Y-ring). The carbenes are stabilized by an electron donor Y (δσY < 0) whereas the TS is stabilized by an electron acceptor Y (δσY > 0). Multiple regression analysis of log (kYZ/kHH)(=-δΔG≠/2.3RT) leads to a relatively large negative cross-interaction constant, ρYZ=-0.53, log (kYZ/kHH)=2.96 σY--1.40 σZ-0.53 σY-σZ reflecting an extensive structural change in the transition state due to the stabilization of the initial state by the vicinal n-σ* overlap. When the solvent (water) effects are accounted for by the SM2.1 model of the Cramer and Truhlar method, the magnitude of all the selectivity parameters, ρY-, ρZ and ρYZ (=-0.66) are increased.
The present study examines whether pitch range variation in North Kyunsang Korean shows a categorical or continuous function. Specifically, the study is focused on the data imitated by adults and children in the North Kyungsang region. To investigate pitch range variation, the log-produced f0 intervals were measured and statistically analyzed. The results of the study are as follows. First, both the adults' and children's imitations were more categorical than continuous, especially for the HL-LH patterns. For the other pitch accent patterns, such as HH-HL and HH-LH, the curves were continuous or flat for most of the speakers. Second, the children's imitations were poorer than those of the adults. That is, the children's imitative responses were shown as more continuous or flat curves than categorical. For the children, the HL-LH pattern showed a categorical function at the midpoint of the curves, though the shifts were not as distinctive as the adults' data. This implies that the imitative responses of children follow the perceptual and productive trace of adults' speech behavior.
This experiment was conducted to determine the extent to which susceptibility to cortisol-induced follicle shutdown is influenced by fleece phentotype. Twenty Finewool (10 sheep low fibre diameter, low coefficient of fibre diameter-LL and 10 low fibre diameter, high coefficient of variation of fibre diameter-LH) and twenty Strongwool (10 low fibre diameter, low coefficient of variation of fibre diameter-HL and 10 high fibre diameter and high coefficient of variation of fibre diameter-HH) sheep of 9 months of age were individually penned in an animal house and were injected intramuscularly with an aqueous suspension of hydrocortisone acetate at a rate of 1.42 mg/kg body weight for a period of two weeks. Fibre diameter was measured from clipped tattooed patch wool samples. Follicle activity was measured by histological changes in skin biopsies taken weekly. Blood samples were collected at two-week intervals and plasma cortisol measured. Increased plasma cortisol concentration significantly (p<0.05) reduced clean wool production and mean fibre diameter dropped to its lowest level four weeks after commencement and two weeks after the cessation of cortisol injection. Elevation of plasma cortisol concentration significantly (p<0.0001) increased the percentage of inactive follicles two weeks after injection started. High fibre diameter groups (Strongwool sheep; i.e. HL+HH) had significantly (p<0.0001) higher percentage of follicle shutdown than low fibre diameter groups (Finewool sheep; i.e. LL+LH). Average percentage of shutdown follicles for Finewool (LL+LH) and Strongwool (HL+HH) Merino sheep was $9.8{\pm}0.9$ and $13.5{\pm}0.9$ respectively. Shutdown of primary follicles was more pronounced in Finewool than Strongwool sheep. There was no significant effect of coefficient of variation of fibre diameter on propensity to follicle shutdown induced by exogenous cortisol. It is concluded that elevation in plasma cortisol concentration is inhibitory to the normal activity of follicles in Strongwool sheep but that variation in fibre diameter has little or no effect.
Objective : The relationship between the total daily dose of clozapine given and the plasma concentrations of clozapine and its metabolites(N-desmethylclozapine and clozapine N-oxide) and the effect of Glu158Lys (wild-type : Glu, 'H' ; variant : Lys, 'h') and Glu308Gly(wild-type : Glu, 'D' ; variant : Lys, 'd') variation in FMO3 gene on plasma concentrations of clozapine and its metabolites was studied in schizophrenic patients. Methods : Trough plasma concentrations of clozapine and its metabolites were measured in 34 schizophrenic patients receiving clozapine. The genetic variation of 'h' and 'd' in FMO3 were analyzed in 21 among 34 patients. Results : A linear relationship between the total daily dose of clozapine given(mg/kg body weight per day) and the plasma concentrations(nM) of clozapine was revealed by regression analysis(p<0.001) in the 23 patients receiving a constant daily dose of clozapine for 8 days. The plasma molar concentration ratios of clozapine N-oxide/clozapine in 8 subjects with 'hh' or 'Hh' alleles were not different from those in 6 subjects with 'HH' alleles and the plasma molar concentration ratios in 6 subjects with 'dd' or 'Dd' alleles were not different from those in 8 subjects with 'DD' alleles. Conclusion : The effect of Glu158Lys and Glu308Gly variation in FMO3 gene on clozapine metabolism could not be shown.
Postweaning performance data were obtained on 401 group fed purebred Angus calves from 24 selected sires (12 high and 12 low feed conversion sires) from 1983 through 1986 at the Northwestern Branch of the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center. The objective of this study was to determine the interrelationships between body measurements and 140-d feed conversion (feed/gain) adjusted for maintenance (ADJFC), 140-d feed conversion unadjusted for maintenance (UNADFC) and feed conversion measured until progeny reached 8.89 mm of backfat (FC). Variables measured at the completion of the 140-d postweaning period included hip peight (HH), chest depth (CD), chest width (CW), head width (HDW), head length (HDL), heart girth (HG), muzzle circumference (MC), backfat thickness (BF), length between hooks aod pins (HOPIN) and length between shoulder and hooks (SHHO). Measurements were taken from progeny born from 1983 through 1986 for HH and BF, while others, except chest measurements (CD and CW), which were available only in 1985, were taken from progeny born in 1985 and 1986. Negative phenotypic correlations were found for UNADFC, ADJFC and FC. respectively, with HG (-0.76, -0.65 and -0.85), HOPIN (-0.05, -0.28 and -0.09), HDL (-0.63, -0.66 and -0.57), MC (-0.12, -0.35 and - 0.25), HH (-0.38, -0.29 and -0.001), BF(-0.29, -0.31 and -0.12) and CW (-0.03, -0.35 and -0.58). In general, fatter animals with larger HG, longer HDL and greater MC had better feed conversion.
In this paper, we propose an efficient detph map creation method using Graph Cut and Discrete Wavelet Transform. First, we have segmented the original image by using Graph Cut to process with its each areas. After that, the information which describes segmented areas of original image have been created by proposed labeling method for segmented areas. And then, we have created four subbands which contain the original image's frequency information. Finally, the depth map have been created by frequency map which made with HH, HL subbands and depth information calculation along the each segmented areas. The proposed method can perform efficient depth map creation process because of dynamic allocation using depth information. We also have tested the proposed method using PSNR(Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) method to evaluate ours.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the weight transfer patterns under the different golf swing types which are full swing control swing and putting stroke. Two women golfers participated in this study, one(165cm, 94.3kg)being classified as a low-handicap(LH)player, the other(165cm, 54.5kg) being classified as a high-handicap(HH) player. Both players are right-handed. Two force plates(Kistler, 9286AA) were synchronized with a motion capture system(Qualisys ProReflex MCU240). Anteriorposterior, mediolateral, and vertical forces were used as an indicator of the pattern of swing. Four discrete positions which are address, top of backswing impact, and finish were identified as an event and three phases which are backswing downswing, and follow-through between he events were also identified. The results showed that, at impact, the total force was 1.24BW ring the full swing 1.17BW during the control stroke, 1.00BW during the putting stroke. Depending on the golf swing types, the differences are existed. At impact, the distribution of forces is different with a low-handicap(LH) player and a high-handicap(HH) player. A LH player has 26% in right foot and 74% in left foot during the full swing 49% in right foot and 51% in left foot during the control swing 49% in right foot and 51% in left foot during the putting stroke. A HH, on the other hand, has 74% in right foot and 26% in left foot during the full swing 62% in right foot and 38% in left foot during the control swing 54% in right foot and 46% in left foot during the putting stroke. From address to top of backswing the amount of vertical forces are changed 43:57(right foot: left foot) to 76:24 during the full swing 47:53(right foot: left foot) to 75:25 during the control swing 50:50(right foot: left foot) to 54:46 during the putting stroke. The biggest weight transfer pattern took place in full swing and the control swing is next, and the putting stroke is the final.

The role of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) in honey as antifungal activity has received little attention and their mechanism of inhibitory of fungi is not fully understood. In this study, LAB were isolated from honey samples from Malaysia, Libya, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen. Twenty-five isolates were confirmed LAB by catalase test and Gram staining, and were screened for antifungal activity. Four LAB showed inhibitory activity against Candida spp. using the dual agar overlay method. And they were identified as Lactobacillus plantarum HS isolated from Al-Seder honey, Lactobacillus curvatus HH isolated from Al-Hanon honey, Pediococcus acidilactici HC isolated from Tualang honey and Pediococcus pentosaceus HM isolated from Al-Maray honey by the 16S rDNA sequence. The growth of Candida glabrata ATCC 2001 was strongly inhibited (>15.0 mm) and (10~15 mm) by the isolates of L. curvatus HH and P. pentosaceus HM, respectively. The antifungal activity of the crude supernatant (cell free supernatant, CFS) was evaluated using well diffusion method. The CFS showed high antifungal activity against Candida spp. especially The CFS of L. curvatus HH was significantly (p < 0.05) inhibited growth of C. glabrata ATCC 2001, C. parapsilosis ATCC 2201, and C. tropicalis ATCC 750 with inhibitory zone 22.0, 15.6, and 14.7 mm, respectively. While CFS of P. pentosaceus HM was significantly (p < 0.05) effective against C. krusei, C. glabrata, and C. albicans with inhibition zone 17.2, 16.0, and 13.3 mm, respectively. The results indicated that LAB isolated from honey produced compounds which can be used to inhibit the growth of the pathogenic Candida species.

A ground-based microwave scatterometer has an advantage for monitoring soil moisture content using multi-polarization, multi-frequencies and various incidence angles. In this paper, ground-based multi-frequency (L-, C-, and X-band) polarimetric scatterometer system capable of making observations every 10 min was used to monitor the soil moisture conditions in a corn field over an entire growth cycle. Measurements of volumetric soil moisture were obtained and their relationships to the backscatter observations were examined. Time series of soil moisture content was not corresponding with backscattering coefficient pattern over the whole growth stage, although it increased until early July (Day Of Year, DOY 160). We examined the relationship between the backscattering coefficients from each band and soil moisture content of the field. Backscattering coefficients for all bands were not correlated with soil moisture content when considered over the entire stage ($r{\leq}0.48$). However, L-band Horizontal transmit and Horizontal receive polarization (HH) had a good correlation with soil moisture ($r=0.85^{**}$) when LAI was lower than 2. Prediction equations for soil moisture were developed using the L-HH data. Relation between L-HH and soil moisture shows linear pattern and related with soil moisture content ($R^2=0.77$). Results from this study show that backscattering coefficients of microwave scatterometer appear to be effective to estimate soil moisture content in the field level.
