  • As a way of enhancing the intercultural ability needed for diverse cultural eras, this study focuses on the "narration" of the Italian education scholar Maddalena De Carlo in order to determine the "diverse values" created by the "symbolic representation" based on the folktales narrated by immigrants living in Korea. Through this, it specifically presents educational elements and contents that can raise relative sensitivity. The authors of this paper have connected, empathized, and communicated with people of various cultures in order to go beyond Carlo's discussion. The paper discusses the expansion of cultural sensitivity as an element of education through narrative topics using the folktales of immigrant narrators in Korea. It also recognizes the limitations of a desire for a homogeneous union within an intercultural society and thus formulates educational contents for creating a relationship with heterogeneous ideas through the elimination of communication barriers through heterogeneity and a consideration of the surface and the back. This is systemized in six steps. Step 1: Listening to oral folktales of immigrants, Step 2: Finding heterogeneous motifs imprinted in the immigrants' memories, Step 3: Understanding the meaning of the opposing qualities symbolized by heterogeneous motifs, Step 4: Creating narrative topics containing the key motifs, Step 5: Generating the value of symbolic representation as a narrative topic, and Step 6: Expanding the value of life into a cultural symbol. In Chapter 3, this study focuses on educational contents using immigrants' folktales by applying these six steps. The class contents include the recognition of the limitations of desire for a homogeneous union within an intercultural society and the consideration of how to create a relationship with heterogeneous ideas through the elimination of communication barriers through heterogeneity and consideration of the surface and the back. This paper then compares the Indonesian folktale, The Inverted Ship Mountain and the Mom's Mountain, with the world-famous Oedipus myth, to determine what the symbolic representation of these heterogeneous motifs is. In Step 6, when the symbolic system is culturally extended, the incestuous desire that appears in the "inverted ship" is interpreted as a fixation that was created when the character sought to unite with homogenous idea. The Cambodian folktale, The Girl and the Tiger, is a story that is reminiscent of the Korean folktale, The Old Man with a Lump. Through the motif in "Tiger," this paper generates a narrative topic that will enhance the students' intercultural abilities by culturally expanding their skills in how to relate with a heterogeneous being that is usually represented as an animal. The Vietnamese folktale, The Coconut Bowl, similar to the Korean folktale, GureongDeongDeong SinSeonBi, is a story that draws a variety of considerations about the surface and theback, and it shows readers how to build a relationship with a heterogeneous idea and how to develop and grow with such a relationship. Thus, if a narrative topic is generated and readers are able to empathize using an opposing feature formed by the core motif of the folktale, it becomes possible, through immigrant folklore, to construct a possibility of a new life through the formation of a relationship with an unfamiliar and heterogeneous culture.

  • Accurate estimations of pre-failure deformations and post-failure responses of geostructures require that the simulation tool possesses at least three main ingredients: 1) a constitutive model that is able to describe the macroscopic stress-strain-strength behavior of soils subjected to complex stress/strain paths over a wide range of confining pressures and densities, 2) an embedded length scale that accounts for the intricate physical phenomena that occur at the grain size scale in the soil, and 3) a computational platform that allows the analysis to be carried out beyond the development of an initially "contained" failure zone in the soil. In this paper, a two-scale micropolar plasticity model will be used to incorporate all these ingredients. The model is implemented in a finite element platform that is based on the mechanics of micropolar continua. Appropriate finite elements are developed to couple displacement, micro-rotations, and pore-water pressure in form of $u_n-{\phi}_m$ and $u_n-p_m-{\phi}_m$ (n > m) elements for analysis of dry and saturated soils. Performance of the model is assessed in a biaxial compression test on a slightly heterogeneous specimen of sand. The role of micropolar component of the model on capturing the post-failure response of the soil is demonstrated.

  • Due to the development and proliferation of internet technology, cooperation and interaction between companies have become very important. However, different heterogeneous systems have been used as information systems for companies because of various types of pressure in the business environment. Therefore, business process integration and interaction are recognized as essential elements, not optional elements. In addition, it is important to make a business process which is valuable as an intellectual property in a storable form and share. So, many business process languages for service integration and GUI type's automatic systems using the same and making business process easily have been introducing. However, to integrate previously created web service[1] workflows, or to use a web service workflow for another workflow production like an activity, that is, research to support multi integration language and system is not ongoing except for research to make and connect adapter between workflow engines.[2] Also, research for current languages and systems that integrate the BPEL[3] process into a workflow in the industrial world does not exist. This means that integration between workflows being used at companies is difficult, and becomes the biggest obstacle to service integration, which is necessary for cooperation and interaction between companies. To solve this problem, in this paper, I defined BPIL based on XML[4], which can store business processes. Also, using this, BPIL workflow system based on SOA[5] which supports multiple integration and workflow profiling was designed and prototype was embodied.

  • This study aims to analyze the physical distortions of fashion design which appear in the 20th century. People have been expressing the hope and beauty by twisting human body since the beginning of mankind. Each period has been showing different forms according to various social and cultural environments. The exaggerated body distortions from the primitive times to the modern are based on human body proportions. Such distortion is to emphasize the inherent beauty within the human body. However, the distortions of the body after the 20th century have been developed with the advent of surrealism which is not affected by reasons but by imaginations. Generally speaking, the reconstruction of the heterogeneous elements is allowed in art. The unexpected surreal elements are creating formative beauty using by distinctly different technique which is unfamiliar and awkward. Physical distortion creates other beauty that is not uniform and absolute beauty but it pursues the diversity of breaking down into categories. Formativeness of surreal physical distortion fashion has the potential for a variety of clothing design, therefore it has intrinsic values for continuous study.

  • In the current information environment, metadata interoperability has become the predominant way of organizing and managing resources. However, current approaches to metadata interoperability focus on the superficial mapping between labels of metadata elements without considering semantics of each element. This research applied facet analysis to address these difficulties in achieving metadata interoperability. By categorizing metadata elements according to these semantic and functional similarities, this research identified different types of facets: basic, conceptual, and relational. Through these different facets, a faceted framework was constructed to mediate semantic, syntactical, and structural differences across heterogeneous metadata standards.

  • The faith in St. Mary of Guadalupe is supposed to be concerned not as reminiscence of historical events or legends, but organic product of having nowness. It's an organism that can not be stay in a fixed type. From the perspectives of syncretism the coexistence of heterogeneous elements (Symbiosis) between Catholicism and Aztec's religion has been changed constantly depending on the necessity and function of the subjects who have dreamed the social integration. It's fundamentally clear that the faith in St. Mary of Guadalupe is still valid phenomenon in the modern Mexican society and that the faith is an aspect of popular catholicism which includes the remaining elements of the religion of the Aztecs. This is to understand the meanings of the perception of the contemporary mexicans on the phenomenon for the faith in St. Mary of Guadalupe. Through in-depth interviews, it is revealed that a high rate of sharing of the information does not mean the proportional acceptance of the history. It's a interesting point to see that the mexicans consider the faith in St. Mary of Guadalupe catholic belief, having a feeling of strong tie between themselves and the Aztec's religion. In spite of the historical conflicts over the veracity of St. Mary of Gaudalupe, the majority of the contemporary mexicans consider the faith positive element to consolidate the nationality and socio-cultural identity of $M{\acute{e}}xico$ against the socio-political and ethnic conflicts in the Mexican Society.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the concept of a sexual image and verify the method of its design expression through case studies of the sexual image evening dress shown in an Haute Couture Collection over the last 10 years (2005~2014). The results of analysis are as follows: First, "expression by the seeing through of the natural body" expressed a natural sexual image that combined fashion of the previous times with the beauty of the natural body by using a see-through material and classic or ethnic image. Second, "expression of a sexual-image look that emphasizes romantic detail" illustrated a romantic sexual image that emphasizes feminine sensitivity by mixing various ornamental elements such as see-through material and symbolism of underwear image. Third, "creation of a nude look using skin color" expressed sexual image of an evening dress by inducing erotic sexual association through a combination of opaque material of skin color and design shape that is intended for body exposure. Fourth, "combination of sexual symbol and heterogeneous elements" expressed a decadent, avant-garde and futuristic sexual images by using women's underwear and a sexual symbol as design motif and mixed with mismatching elements. Fifth, "use of a fantastic black image" expressed an exclusive and refined sexual image and a decadent and primitive sexual image by using a fantastic image of black color. The results of this study are expected to be used for the design process of the evening-dress industry that aims for quality improvement.

  • Motiongraphics is not short film and has a special communication method characteristic of design. As graphic design needs space-composition, motiongraphics requires time-composition. In the 1920's, artists belonged Bauhaus in Germany tried to realize time-composition in the plans for abstract animation. At that time the russian film director Eisenstein experimented with moving image composit on, creating new meanings through the montage of heterogeneous images. In the digital era of today, motiongraphics is composed of such various elements as moving image, photo, illustration, typography, etc. The editing in montage film is one-dimensional. Meanwhile, motiongraphics of these days consists of a lot of layers, composing various elements by editing. Motiongraphics needs time structure and visual rhythm as well as scenario or storyboard for time composition. The principle of time composition in motiongraphics ist similar to that of musical composition. If we compare the time composition of abstract animation or montage film with the melody in a solo, time composition for motiongraphicf is like a symphony. Various composing elements are developed under different tempos at the same time.
