This review of literature establishes a contemporary meaning of mathematical problem solving including young children's mathematical problem solving processes/assessments and teaching strategies. The contemporary meaning of mathematical problem solving involves complicated higher thinking processes. Explanations of the mathematical problem solving processes of young children include the four steps suggested by $P{\acute{o}}lya$(1957) : understand the problem, devise a plan, carry out the plan, and review/extend the plan. Assessments of children's mathematical problem solving include both the process and the product of problem solving. Teaching strategies to support children's mathematical problem solving include mathematical problems built upon children's daily activities, interests, and questions and helping children to generate new approaches to solve problems.

The Republic of Korea, ranked as the 5th military power according to the size of its ground troops, discharges more than 200,000 manpower to the society annually; more than 13,000 of them are officers. The re-employment rate of discharged military personnels, who experience early retirement of 5 to 15 years compared to general public officers, is very low, only amounting to 53.2%. On the other hand, major developed countries exhibit great national scale of effort to take responsibility in helping the settlement of the soldiers who have dedicated their career for their countries. The re-employment rate amounts to 94%. Fully acknowledging such disparity, this paper examines various policies on discharged members support of developed countries, and aims to suggest developmental model on employment support designed for discharged members in the Republic of Korea.

Aquatic plants serve the crucial function of helping to balance water reservoir ecosystem, as they filter and remove major minerals required for algal growth such as nitrogen, ammonia, and nitrates. Aquatic plants provide food, shade, and protection for the aquatic biome in and around the reservoir. Thus, it is important to accurately determine the existence and areal extent of the aquatic plants. In the present study drone-based facilities were used for this purpose. In the Muncheon water reservoir, Gyeongbuk, the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and Surface Algal Bloom Index (SABI) were used to determine the existence status of the aquatic plants. The data so obtained exhibited reasonable accuracy; drone-based facilities can be used in future to identify the areal extent of aquatic plants.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of sex education using multimedia program on knowledge and attitude about sex. Method: The subjects of this study were 282 middle school boys in seoul. The data were collected from the 4th of Jun. to 30th of Jun. 2001. This program consisted of 6 subtopics and provided 3 sessions for each class. The per-test was given before the therapy to measure variables and the post-test was performed after intervention. The data were analyzed by the SAS program using t-test. Result: The results of this study are as follows. After intervention, the level of knowledge and attitude were increased significantly. Conclusion: The sex education using multimedia program is effective in helping middle school boys improve their healthy attitudes and thoughts toward sex.

This paper describes a mobile robot intended for being employed in a multi-agent system. We have already proposed a multi-agent system which realizes patient-aid by helping a lying patient take a distant object on the table. In this paper, a mobile robot agent is developed and is included in the system. An effective man-machine communication strategy is proposed by use of a vision agent settled on the ceiling. If a human (assumed to be a patient) wishes to take an object distant on the floor, he points to the object. The vision agent detects the direction of his arm by image processing and guesses which object he intends to take. The vision agent asks him if it is what he wants and, if yes, the mobile robot runs to take and bring it to him. The system is overviewed with the explanation of a mobile robot. Some experimental results are shown with discussion.

A phase lock loop (PLL) circuit is a wellknown electronic circuit in communication engineering and other areas. In this paper, we present application of the PLL and fuzzy logic for DC motor control which are mixed well to be more effective for motor control. With this scheme, the control system can reach the set point rapidly, especially, it can eliminate noises. In addition, the PLL makes the system to have more stability; whereas, fuzzy logic controls helping PLL to be able to lock rapidly for a good response. The experiment result shows that the proposed control system works more efficacious. The purpose of this study were (1) to find out if socio-demographic, resource, psychological, and socio-environmental variables have significant effect6s on environmentally concious consumer behavior and (2) to examine the independent influences of variables related to the environmentally concious behavior. the subjects were 384 housewives living in Kwangju. the data were collected by questionnare methods and analyzed through SPSS PC+ program. The findings were as follows : Environmentally concious behavior differed significantly according to family income, employment, attending a consumer education experience, knowledge about environmental conservation method, post-industrial consumer value orientation, awareness of the seriousness of environmental problems, feeling of efficacy about helping to solve environmental problems, perception of time limit, influence of reference group and the degree of interesting in environmental information. The most critical variable was influence of reference group, that is, environmentally concious behavior by friends and neighbors.

Knowledge of developmental biology is essential for clinicians who seek to develop a rational approach to the diagnostic evaluation of patients with birth defects. After an accurate diagnosis, a clinician can make predictions about prognosis, recommend management options, and provide an indication of recurrence risk for the parents and relatives. In this paper, we first review the basic mechanisms of embryological development and clinical dysmorphology. We then review cellular and molecular mechanisms in development and related congenital anomalies. Developmental anomalies have a major impact on public health. Genetic counseling and prenatal diagnosis, with the option to continue or to terminate a pregnancy, are important for helping families faced with the risk of a serious congenital anomaly in their offspring. Moreover, primary prevention of birth defects, for example, supplementation of prenatal folic acid and prevention of consumption of alcohol which has teratogenic effects, can be accomplished using developmental biology knowledge.

There are various methods to assess to company's outcome. Among them, the customers satisfaction, which is assessed by customers, is the most important. If the customers satisfaction is measured by the CSI based on the proper reliability and validity, you can apply the result for various marketing methods. Therefore, this study develops a model to assess CSI for an industry, specifically, local automotive industry based on the SEM that is already proven valid through assessing models such as ACSI, KCSI and NCSI. Moreover, this research can be utilized for marketing strategy helping customers to decide as an AHP model, one of the decision making method.

Since textbooks for elementary school mathematics in accordance with the seventh curriculum are 'Class I' textbooks, which are used as one and only one textbooks throughout the country, the following aspects have been considered： In the legal aspect, the contents including the curriculum for mathematics asked of the Writing Committee by the Ministry of Education were reflected; in the aspect of theory of mathematics education, the textbooks are written in a way appropriate to theory of mathematics education; and in the aspect of application of reality, the textbooks are written to help improving mathematics education in classrooms. Therefore, the main frame of writing the textbooks is to make students feel proud enough to say "I have done mathematics", through helping students rationally solve problems surrounding them by themselves with their experiences and activities. In the above viewpoint the following sentence is reflected upon: "Hundred explanations are not equal to one manipulation activity."
