Large portion of the domestic bridges are slab bridges reflecting the geographical characteristic of the country, where exists lots of inclines and small winding brooks. Many of the slab bridges are damaged and superannuated as they become obsolete. Deterioration is accelerated when the traffic density becomes large and heavy vehicles pass frequently. A strengthening method for deteriorated slab bridges was studied in this work. The examined net-type strengthening method uses both longitudinal and transverse prestressing for strengthening. In this way, the deflection at the center of the slab can be better controlled, and consequently, the slab is more efficiently strengthened. Three slab specimens were fabricated for the experimental test and subjected to three different loading conditions, and the load bearing capacities and deflections of slabs were examined. Flexural stiffness of slabs increased by 30.7~107.3%, and deflection of slabs decreased by 27.6~52.2% after net-type strengthening. The net-type prestressing is efficient to the strengthening for the center of a slab, and its efficiency is also valid under eccentric loadings. Since extra prestress forces can be added in the future, if necessary, the net-type strengthening system is advantagous for the maintenance and repair of slab bridges.

Most of the previous works on scene change detection algorithm focus on the detection of abrupt rather than gradual changes. In general, gradual scene change detection algorithms require heavy computation. Some of those approaches don't consider the error factors such as flashlights, camera or object movements, and special effects. Many scenes change detection algorithms based on the histogram show better performances than other approaches, but they have computation load problem. In this paper, we proposed a scene change detection algorithm with fast and accurate performance using the vertical and horizontal blocked slice images and their macro block informations. We apply graph cut partitioning algorithm for clustering and partitioning of video sequence using generated spatio-temporal histogram. When making spatio-temporal histogram, we only use the central block on vertical and horizontal direction for performance improvement. To detect camera and object movement as well as various special effects accurately, we utilize the motion vector and type information of the macro block.

To introduce an oyster rack culture in tidal flat of Wando-gun, Korea, we investigated sanitary conditions from 2012 April to 2013 March in oyster growing waters and adjacent area in Wando. Average seawater temperature and salinity ranged $8.6-28.0^{\circ}C$ and 26.2-33.6 psu, respectively. The coliform group and fecal coliform of seawater ranged < 1.8-13.0 MPN/100 mL each. Only one of 60 samples was exceeded in the European criteria of fecal coliform. Influence of adjunct basin's pollution load on cultural waters was negligible, which half radius of dilution was not above 300 m. According to our observation, however, landing of oyster should be banned for at least 5 days after the heavy rainfall. Our findings meet the sanitary seawater criteria for domestic use and export of shellfish and classified as 'Class A' in European Community regulations for bivalve culture.

This study aimed to develop the multi-span plastic greenhouse which is suitable for tomato cultivation and is safe against climatic disasters such as typhoon or heavy snow. The width and heights of eaves and ridge of newly developed tomato greenhouse are 7, 4.5 and 6.5 m, respectively. The width is the same but the eaves and ridge heights are 1.8 and 2 m higher than conventional 1-2 W greenhouses, respectively. Cross beam has been designed as a truss structure so it can sustain loads of tomato and equipment. Tomato greenhouse has been designed according to climatic disaster preventing design standard maintaining the high height. In other words, the material dimensions and interval of materials including column and rafter have been set to stand against $40m{\cdot}s^{-1}$ of wind and 40 cm of snow. Tomato greenhouse has been equipped with rack-pinion type roof vents which have been used in glass greenhouse in order to prevent excessive rise in air temperature. This vent type is different from that of 1-2 W type greenhouse which is made by rolling up and down the vinyl at upper part of column. Roof vents are installed at ridge, and thus external air inflow and natural ventilation are maximized. As the height increases, heating cost increase as well and, therefore, tomato greenhouse has been equipped with multi-layered thermal curtain, of which thermo-keeping is excellent, to prevent heat from escaping.

Estimation of the buckling and ultimate strength of a continuous stiffened plate subjected to combined transverse compression and lateral pressure is of high importance to ensure the safety of ship structures, particularly for the bottom plating under a deep draft condition For example, bottom plating of bulk carriers is subjected to transverse thrust caused by the bending of double bottom structure and the direct action of pressure on the side shells. Most of experimental tests, theoretical approach and numerical researches have been performed on the buckling and ultimate strength behaviour of plates or stiffened plates under combined compression and lateral pressure. With regard to stiffened panels, however, most of studies have been concerned with the load conditions of combined longitudinal thrust and lateral pressure, while fewer studies have been performed for the combined transverse thrust and lateral pressure. In addition, the previous researches are mainly concerned with an isolated rectangular plate simply supported along the all edges, whereas actual ship plating is continuous across the transverse frames and heavy girders. In the present paper, a series of elastoplastic large deflection FEA on a continuous stiffened plate is performed and then clarify the characteristic of collapse mode and explain the effect of transverse compression.

In the great motive power which promotes the Game of future to develop. three main factors focus on 3D Graphics, Network and Virtual Reality. the Network technique as necessary elemental technique in Next-generation on-line game is being researched largely. However, from viewing the features of on-line game, if many users meet in same server, it not only causes heavy load to the server and brings inconvenience to the users, but also increases expense to the service provider and creates a problem which is to put up server or not. A proposal is going to do hybrid distributed system a client hardly depends on server for this paper, and to be able to enjoy a network game through information alternating current between clients. depended on the existing server, and the most message processing did a design in order to achieve between clients. A design way to propose is as follows. Primarily it was done in order proposed a message grade anger process way, and to be able to manage server or a client according to importance of message, and, with the second, did a Client-Server method and a Pear-to-Pear method at the same time, and a chase did efficiency. Third is going to propose other problem solving way by message grade anger in multi-anger and a security section of a message cue.

This study proposes seismic response analysis technique of a two-mass rack system which sustains heavy loads with frictional behavioral characteristics. In order to deal with the nonlinear frictional characteristics of the mass on the rack system, the equations of motion of the system has been derived and the appropriate numerical simulation technique has been developed. In order to examine the seismic performance of the proposed system, we consider two parameters that are expected to have great influence on the seismic performance of the system. One is the ratio of the two masses of the load and the rack structure, and the other is the friction coefficient between rack and loaded mass. A number of numerical simulations of the seismic response of structures with various natural frequencies for both parameters have been performed in order to investigate the seismic safety of the rack structures. From the simulated results. it is observed that the maximum displacement of the rack system tends to decrease drastically as the natural frequency of the structure increases regardless of the two parameters of mass ratio and friction coefficient. The proposed study provides important reference data to guarantee the seismic safety of the rack system by considering nonlinear frictional behavior of the loaded mass.

Ship and bridge structures are a type of long box-shaped structure, and resistance to vertical bending moment is a key factor in their structural design. In particular, because box girders are repeatedly exposed to irregular wave loads for a long time, the continuous collapse behavior of structural members must be accurately predicted. In this study, plastic collapse behavior, including buckling according to load changes of the box girder receiving pure bending moments, was analyzed using a numerical analysis method. The analysis targets were selected as three box girders used in the Gordo experiment. The cause of the difference was considered by comparing the results of the structural strength experiment with those of non-linear finite element analysis. This study proposed a combination of the entire and local sagging shape to reflect the effect of the initial sagging caused by welding heat that is inevitably used to manufacture carbon steel materials. The procedures reviewed in the study and the contents of the initial sagging configuration can be used as a good guide for analyzing the final strength of similar structures in the future.
Recent weather changes have led to an increase in heavy rainfall resulting in frequent large-scale slope failures. To minimize damage to life and property, a measurement system is used in slope failure warning systems. However, understanding the slope failure behavior is difficult as the measurement system only measures a specific point. Therefore, numerical analysis must be p erformed with the measurement system. The soil water characteristic curve (SWCC) drying curve and boundary conditions that consider evapotranspiration and precipitation have been applied to numerical analysis, but the hysteresis of SWCC affects the numerical analysis results. To address this, a new evapotranspiration calculation method is proposed and applied to boundary conditions, and the measurement data are compared with the results of the numerical analysis. This method takes into account the different infiltration behaviors on evapotranspiration according to the drying and wetting curves of the SWCC, and allows for a more rational prediction of water movement on unsaturated slopes.
