배압터빈을 사용하는 열병합발전소의 열 회수 온도에 따른 성능특성 분석 (Performance Analysis on CHP Plant using Back Pressure Turbine according to Return Temperature Variation)

  • Combined heat and power (CHP) system is one of the power generation system which can generate both electricity and heat. Generally, mid-size and big-size CHP plant in Korea generate electricity from gas turbine and steam turbine, then supply heat from exhaust gas. Actually, CHP can supply heat using district heater which is located at low pressure turbine exit or inlet. When the district heater locates after low pressure turbine, which called back pressure type turbine, there need neither condenser nor mode change operating control logic. When the district heater locates in front of low pressure turbine or uses low pressure turbine extraction steam flow, which calls condensing type turbine, which kind of turbine requires condenser. In this case, mode change operation methods are used for generating maximum electricity or maximum heat according to demanding the seasonal electricity and heat.

Feasibility of using biogas in a micro turbine for supplying heating, cooling and electricity for a small rural building

  • In this study, the use of a micro gas turbine system using biogas to supply heating, cooling and electricity loads of a rural building located in rural area around Tehran has been studied. Initially, the amount of energy needed by the farmhouse was calculated and then the number of needed microturbines was determined. Accordingly, the amount of substances entering biogas digester as well as tank volume were determined. The results of this study showed that village house loads including electrical, heating and cooling and hot water loads can be supplied by using a microturbine with a nominal power of 30 kW and $33.5m^3/day$ of biogas. Digester tank and reservoir tank volumes are $67m^3$ and $31.2m^3$, respectively. The cost of electricity produced by this system is 0.446 US$/kWh. For rural area in Iran, this system is not compatible with micro gas turbine and IC engine system use urban natural gas due to low price of natural gas in Iran, but it can be compatible by wind turbine, photovoltaic and hybrid system (wind turbine& photovoltaic) systems.

한랭지용 열펌프의 저온난방 성능에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Performance of a Heat Pump for the Cold Climate)

  • The present study concerns an experimental study of a R-22 heat pump system consisted of liquid and liquid heat exchangers. The test was performed for various systems of a single-, tandem-, and two stage-cycle at the same environmental conditions of temperature. Various experiments of the heat pump system were peformed to compare the heating capacity and COP, when the outdoor temperature is near $-15^{\circ}C$ and the indoor temperature is $20^{\circ}C.$ As the results of the present study, the system of Tandem(parallel) cycle showed the best heating performance, while the discharge temperature of refrigerant was too high. In case of the system of two stage cycle, the performance characteristics were significantly improved by employing the inter cooler.

EnergyPlus 해석용 수랭식 VRF 히트펌프의 냉·난방 능력 및 소비전력 예측식 산출 기법 (Capacity and Power Input Performance Curves Creation of Water-cooled VRF Heat Pump for EnergyPlus)

  • Variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems have recently attracted attention in many countries due to a variety of advantages over conventional system. Especially, the water-cooled VRF heat pump, including geothermal heat pump, is a system that accurately controls the flow rate of refrigerant for the improved efficiency under part load operation. This paper describe the process of generating the cooling and heating energy performance curve coefficients and performance expressions for modeling water cooled VRF system using EnergyPlus. Through this study, the process for generating performance curves can be implemented into EnergyPlus or other comparable building energy analysis tools for the long-term evaluation of heat pump under dynamic conditions.

대규모 고등학교의 냉난방 및 신재생에너지시스템 적용방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Application Plan of Air-Conditioning and New and Renewable Systems in the Large High Schools)

  • The study is conducted to study a new, optimum and new and renewable energy application method that can cover the minimum energy and operation costs within a range of school budgets. By deriving the optimum application method, it is expected to maximize the cooling/heating and hot water supply energy saving efficiencies for educational facilities. Therefore, this research implemented a study on the new and renewable energy utilization technique diffusion expansion method and the optimum method. As a result, the first optimum plan was introduced with the multi-type geothermal heat pump 475.6 kW+highly efficient electronic cooling/heating device(EHP) 545.2 kW. On the other hand, the second optimum plan was induced as the multi-type geothermal heat pump 261kW+solar heat collector $240\;m^2$+highly efficient electronic cooling/heating device(EHP) 759.8 kW.

지하수 열원 복수정 지열 열펌프 시스템의 성능에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study of Ground Water Source Two Well Type Geothermal Heat Pump System)

  • Ground water source heat pump system is the oldest one of the ground source heat pump systems. Despite of this, little formal design information has been available until recently. The important design parameters for open system are the identification of optimum ground water flow, heat exchanger selection and well pump. In this study, the capacity of 50 RT system of two well type ground water heat pump system was used. As a result, static water level was -7 m and the level during the heating operation was -32 m, cooling operation was -40 m. The initial static water level recovered within 48 hrs. The temperature of ground water is $15.6^{\circ}C$ for heating season and $16.2^{\circ}C$ for cooling season and does not depend on the outdoor temperature. Operation efficiency of the system shows that, COP 3.1 for heating and COP 4.2 for cooling.

  • This paper presents a novel prototype of dual mode control based phase shift ZVS PWM high frequency load resonant inverter with lossless snubber capacitors in addition to a single active auxiliary resonant snubber for electromagnetic induction heating(IH) foam metal based consumer fluid dual packs(DPA) heater. The operating principle in steady state and unique features of this voltage source soft switching high frequency inverter circuit topology are described in this paper. The lossless snubber and auxiliary active resonant snubber assisted constant frequency phase shift ZVS PWM high frequency load resonant inverter employing IGBT power modules actually is capable of achieving zero voltage soft commutation over a widely specified power regulation range from full power to low power. The steady state operating performances of this dual mode phase shift PWM series load resonant high frequency inverter are evaluated and discussed on the basis of simulation and experimental results for induction heated foam metal heater which is designed for compact and high efficient moving fluid heating appliance in the consumer pipeline systems.

  • Stamper surface temperature is very critical in replicating the high density optical disc substrates using injection molding as the pit or land/groove patterns on the optical disc substrate have decreased due to the rapid increase of areal density. During the filling stage, the polymer melt in the vicinity of the stamper surfaces rapidly solidifies and the solidified layer generated during polymer filling greatly deteriorates transcribability and fluidity of polymer melt. To improve transcribability and fluidity of polymer melt, stamper surface temperature should be controlled such that the growth of the solidified layer is delayed during the filling stage. In this study, the effect of heating on replication process was simulated numerically. Then, an injection mold equipped with instant active heating system was designed and constructed to raise the stamper surface temperature over the glass transition temperature during filling stage of the injection molding. Also, the closed loop controller using the Kalman filter and the linear quadratic Gaussian regulator was designed. As a result, the stamper surface temperature was controlled according to the desired reference stamper surface temperature.

Influence of Curing and Heating on Formation of N-Nitrosamines from Biogenic Amines in Food Model System using Korean Traditional Fermented Fish Product

  • The myeolchi-jeot samples were divided into different groups with or without the supplementation with biogenic amines. Subsequently, the samples were placed in an oven at $80^{\circ}C$ for 1 hr to allow the chemical reaction to proceed, and then were analyzed for N-nitrosamine contents using GC-TEA. N-nitrosamine was not detected in any of the myeolchi-jeot samples which had been treated with/without sodium nitrite. On the other hand, the yield of N-nitrosopyrrolidine from 1,000 mg/kg of putrescine and spermidine in the myeolchi-jeot samples (treated with 5 mg/kg of sodium nitrite) was 0.002 and 0.014%, respectively. N-nitrosamine was not produced from any other biogenic amines like, histamine, tyramine, cadaverine and spermine. In addition, curing and heating were the factors which influenced the formation of N-nitrosamine during the nitrosation of biogenic polyamines. For the formation of N-nitrosamine in the food systems, treatment with sodium nitrite and heating at appropriate temperature along with the satisfied supplementation of biogenic polyamines are required.

  • The heating and cooling performance of system multi-air conditioner under high-head and long-line conditions are experimentally investigated. The maximum head and tube length were 110 m and 1000 m, respectively. The experimental system was composed of 4 outdoor units with module systems, and 13 indoor units which were joined with the mode change unit by single-tube circuit. Field tests without indoor and outdoor temperature control were performed in a general office building with 22 different working conditions. Experimental results were prepared on the p-h diagram. Also the oil level in the compressor was normally maintained at the safety zone for the system multi-air conditioner with high-head and long-line conditions.
