Tungsten bronze structure $Sr_{1-x}Ba_xNb_2O_6$ (SBN) single crystals were grown primarily using the Czochralski method, in which several difficulties were encountered: striation formation and diameter control. Striation formation occurred mainly because of crystal rotation in an asymmetric thermal field and unsteady melt convection driven by thermal buoyancy forces. To optimize the growth conditions, bulk SBN crystals were grown in a furnace with resistance heating elements. The zone of $O_2$ atmosphere for crystal growth is 9.0 cm and the difference of temperature between the melt and the top is $70^{\circ}C$. According to the growth conditions of the rotation rate, grown SBN became either polycrystalline or composed of single crystals. In the case of as-grown $Sr_{1-x}Ba_xNb_2O_6$ (x = 0.4; 60SBN) single crystals, the color of the crystals was transparent yellowish and the growth axis was the c-axis. The facets of the crystals were of various shapes. The length and diameter of the single crystals was 50~70 mm and 5~10 mm, respectively. Tungsten bronze SBN growth is affected by the temperature profile and the atmosphere of the growing zone. The thermal expansion coefficients on heating and on cooling of the grown SBN single crystals were not matched. These coefficients were thought to influence the phase transition phenomena of SBN.

The purpose of this study was 1) to estimate the improvement of thermal storage/release and moisture transport properties of PEG-treated acrylic athletic socks and suggest the optimum add-on for PEG treatment, 2) to investigate wear performance of untreated cocks and two kinds of socks treated with PEG of minimum and optimum add-on respectively, and 3) to consider the effect of thermal storage/release and moisture transport properties of PEG- treated socks on the wear performance and the subjective comfort zone. Thermal activities of specimens treated by PDC were evaluated on a DSC by measuring the heat of fusion on heating and the heat of crystallization on cooling. Moisture regain, absorption speed, wickability, water retenti on value, and water-vapor permeability were measured. In the wear trials that the subjects performed a subsequent exercise protocol wearing three differently treated socks in a conditioned environment ($14\pm2^{\circ}C$, 65$\pm$2% R.H.), microclimate temperature and humidity, and subjective wear sensations including thermal sensation, wettedness, softness, fit, and overall comfort were obtained. PEC-treated specimens with more than 20% add-on showed thermal storage on heating and thermal release on cooling by a DSC and the heat contents of treated ones were generally proportional to the add-ons. Moisture transport properties were highly improved after PEG treatment and increased rapidly with increasing add-on. The tendencies were, however, relaxed above 50% add-on and the treated knits were much stiffer above that add-on. In the wear trials of untreated, PEG add-on 20%, and 50% acrylic socks, the changes of microclimate temperature of 50% socks were significantly less than that of 20% socks. PEG add-on 50% socks showed significantly less changes of microclimate humidity than other two kinds of socks. Three kinds of socks showed significant differences in overall comfort and add-on 50% socks were accepted more comfortable than other two kinds of socks. Comfort zone of foot was extended after PEG treatment on socks and it implied that the subjects wearing PEG- treated socks felt comfortable in wider ranges of microclimate temperature and humidity.
Monitoring of energy use should be a priority in order to efficiently manage building energy use. Energy use in buildings can be managed by dividing them into energy sources, uses, and ZONE. By energy source, electricity, gas, fuel, and district heating are supplied to run the building's facilities. The purpose can be divided into five main applications, including cooling, heating, lighting, hot water and ventilation, but not many elevators and electric heaters that are difficult to include in the five applications are classified. ZONE Star refers to the comparison or separate management of areas for which the purpose of the building is similar or different. In addition, energy efficiency management requires control of the temperature, humidity, and people who will be measuring energy in the building, and the recent problem of fine dust should directly affect the ventilation of the building.

AlN Single Crystal were grown by PVT (Physical vapor transport) method on bulk seed. It was performed by high-frequency induction-heating coil. AlN source powder was loaded at bottom side of the carbon crucible and the crystal seed was loaded at the upper side of the crucible. The temperature conditions of the growth was varied $2000{\sim}2100^{\circ}C$ and the surrounding pressure was $1{\times}10^{-1}{\sim}200$ Torr. And the hot-zone of the heating position was controlled elaborately according to growth. The 17 mm-diameter, 7 mm-thickness AlN single crystal is obtained for about 600 hours growing. It was recognized that the growth direction of as grown crystal was R[011] by the Laue X-Ray camera measurement.
The cathodic protection method is being widely used in marine structural steel, however a high tensile steel like RE 36 steel for marine structural steel is easy to get hydrogen embrittlement due to over protection during cathodic protection as well as preferential corrosion of HAZ(Heating Affected Zone) part. In this paper, corrosion resistance and mechanical properties such as elongation and hydrogen embrittlement were investigated with not only in terms of electrochemical view but also SSRT(Slow Strain Rate Test) method with applied constant cathodic potential, analysis of SEM fractography in case of both As-welded and PWHT(Post-Weld Heat Treatment) of $550^{\circ}C$. The best effect for corrosion resistance was apparently indicated at PWHT of $550^{\circ}C$ and elongation was increased with PWHT of $550^{\circ}C$ than that of As-welded condition. On the other hand. Elongation was decreased with applied potential shifting to low potential direction which may be caused by hydrogen embrittlement, however the susceptibility of hydrogen embrittlement was decreased with PWHT of $550^{\circ}C$ than that of As-welded condition and Q.C(quasi cleavage) fracture mode was also observed significantly according to increasing of susceptibility of hydrogen embrittlement. Eventually it is suggested that an optimum cathodic protection potential range not causing hydrogen embrittlernent is from -770 mV(SCE) to -850 mV(SCE) in As-welded condition while is from -770 mV(SCE) to -875 mV(SCE) in PWHT of $550^{\circ}C$.

With the increased use of surface textured steel sheet in body-in-white assembly, resistance spot weldability of these steels is considered to be an important subject. This study evaluated nugget formation and weldability by measuring dynamic resistance with various weld pressure, current, and weld time for steel sheet with two different surface roughnesses. The surface roughness for T-H steel ($R_{a}=1.70\;{\mu}m$) was higher than that for T-L steel ($R_{a}=1.33\;{\mu}m$), and resulted in increased contact resistance and heating for T-H steel spot welding. Therefore, at low weld current and weld cycle ranges, the T-H steel showed better weldability over the T-L steel. The evaluations of weld interface showed that the fusion zone in the T-H steel sheet was continuous in contrast to discontinuous fusion zone for T-L steel sheet at the same welding conditions. A comparison of dynamic resistance and tensile-shear strength (TSS) between T-H and T-L steel sheet suggested that high surface roughness provided larger heating at early cycle of welding and larger TSS.

This study presents estimation method of temperature-dependent thermal conductivity by using solution of inverse heat conduction problem. Time and depth temperature distribution data from full-scale fire test were used for estimating temperature-dependent thermal conductivity on hybrid-fiber reinforced shield tunnel lining. At short heating time, estimated thermal conductivity sharply decreased within $100^{\circ}C$. On the other hand, it reflected thermal properties of concrete and effect of steel fiber at heating time of measured maximum heating temperature. Thus arbitrary time should be determined to estimate temperature-dependent thermal conductivity in time zone of measured maximum heating temperature. Estimated temperature-dependent thermal conductivity is similar to results of other study.

The characteristics of the stress corrosion cracking of SUS 304 stainless steel weldments were studied with the speciments of the constant displacement type under the environment of 42% MgC $l_{2}$ boiled solution (143.+.-.2.deg.C). The susceptibility of initiation and propagation of the stress corrosion crack was quantitatively inspected in the weld metal, heat affected zone and heat affected zone with including the reinforcement shape, respectively. Also, those susceptibility were discussed in connection with the change of mechanical and microstructural characteristics caused by heating cycle of welding. Main results obtained are as follows: (1)Stress corrosion cracking is easiest to initiate and propagate in the heat affected zone of weldment. (2)The susceptibility of stress corrosion cracking of the weldment is largely improved by eliminating the reinforcement part of the weld bead. (3)The dominant factor of the cracking susceptibility of the heat affected zone appeared to be the phenomenon of softening and sensitizing caused by welding heat cycle. (4)Under the low loading conditions, the behavior of stress corrosion cracking of the SUS 304 steel weldment is largely influenced by the pitting phenomenon in the front region of the main crack.
In this study, the effect of crown heating on the cultivation environment, budding, flowering and yields of strawberry was analyzed. In December, January, and February, when the outside temperature was low, the average strawberry crown temperature at daytime in the test zone was 1.3℃ higher than that in the control zone, and the average strawberry crown temperature at nighttime in the test zone was 2.7℃ higher than that in the control zone. The average bed temperature at daytime in test zone was 1.7℃ higher than that in the control zone, and the average bed temperature at nighttime in test zone was 2.4℃ higher than that in the control zone. As a result of performing correlation analysis and regression analysis on strawberry crown temperature and budding period, the correlation coefficient was -0.86, which tended to be shorter as the crown temperature was higher, and the determination coefficient was 0.74. The total yields of strawberry during test period were 392.6 g/plant for test greenhouse and 346.0 g/plant for control greenhouse respectively. As for the quality of strawberries, the ratio of 2L (very large) grades and L (large) grades was 62.4% in the test greenhouse and 58.5% in the control greenhouse, indicating that the proportion of high quality strawberries was higher in the test greenhouse.
The experimental design methodology was applied in the real scale coal-fired boiler to predict the various combustion properties according to the operating conditions and to assess the coal plant safety. Response surface method (RSM) was introduced as a design of experiment, and the database for RSM was provided with the numerical simulation of the coal-fired boiler. The three independent variables, high heating value of coal (HHV), overall stoichiometry excess air ratio (OST), and burner-side stoichiometry excess air ratio (BST), were set to characterize the cross section averaged NOx concentration and temperature distribution. The maximum NOx concentration was predicted accurately and mainly controlled by BST in the boiler. The parabola function was assumed for the zone averaged peak temperature distribution, and the prediction was in a fairly good agreement with the experiments except downstream. Also, the location of the peak temperature was compared with that of maximum NOx, which implies that thermal NOx formation is the main mechanism in the coal-fired boiler. These results promise the wide use of statistical models for the fast prediction and safety assessment.
