A Study on the Fabrication of Heater based on Silicone Rubber (실리콘러버 기반의 히터제작에 관한 연구)

  • Since silicone rubber heaters are flexible, they can be directly attached or installed in objects to be heated even in flat, curved or three-dimensional shapes. Since the current heating method heats the entire object to be heated and raises it to a required temperature, ignoring areas or positions where heat is not required, partial intensive heating cannot be performed. When using multi-heating zones, rather than heating the entire object to be heated, only the parts that need heat are intensively heated according to the process, so it is possible to heat quickly by local location by applying different amounts of heat with a small amount of electric capacity to each place that needs heat, and heat energy can reduce. In this study, the temperature and heating time of the partially concentrated region in the multi-heating region structure are measured so that a uniform temperature or temperature difference occurs in the region requiring thermal fusion. In order to determine the optimal power density range and reduce capacitance, the safety of a silicon rubber heater manufactured with a multi-heating zone structure is investigated. If the silicon rubber heater is manufactured in a multi-heating method, the multi-intensive heating technology can be ideally applied to all heating processes.

  • The robot mainpulator for inspection of pressurizer in the nuclear power plant has been developed, which consists of four parts : 2 arms, movable gripper, base frame, contorl console. To extract the damaged electric heating rod inside pressurizer, the gripper has been developed using wire lope and self-locking mechanism. for the examination of the structural stability of the robot manipulator, stress analysis is performed by using the ANSYS code.

  • This paper proposes two directional bending actator using three link, two shape memory alloys(SMA) of coil-type springs and two guide wires. By the heating of two SMA springs sequentially, the bending and stretching of the actuator is possible. Bending angle, force and repeated bending motion of actuator were measured and characterized. The performance of the actuator has been characterized for the possible application for catheter.

  • Nickel wire of 0.2mm diameter and 50mm in length was exploded in ethanol for Ni nanopower synthesis. The waveform of discharge current shows that the process can be divided by ohmic heating phase and plasma state. The Ni nanopowder classified after synthesis has 100nm of mean diameter.

Quantitative Analysis on the Effects of Welding Parameters on Diffusible Hydrogen Contents in Weld Metal Produced by FCAW Process (FCAW에서 용접금속 확산성수소량에 미치는 용접변수 영향의 정량적 해석)

  • The effects of welding parameters such as contact tip-to-work distance (CTWD), voltage, and current on the weld metal diffusible hydrogen contents (HD) were investigated and rationalized by the calculation of heating time and amount of heat generated in the extension length of flux cored wire. As CTWD increased from 15 to 25mm, HD decreased from 8.46 to 5.45mL/100g deposited metal. Calculations showed that, with an increase of CTWD, the amount of heat generated increased from 46 to 92J in addition to an increase of heating time. Increase of current from 250 to 320A, however, gave little variation of HD. It showed that no significant change in the amount of heat generated was found, and heating time was decreased with an increase of current. It also showed that CTWD is more influential than voltage in relatively lower heat input ranges, while voltage is more in higher input ranges

  • For almost of concrete structures by placing in cold weather, it is very important that the selection of curing method at early aged construction stage. The Exothermic curing method with hot wire and rapid hardening cement is used mostly to prevent the initial cracks and the strength decrease. Most of the construction sites, however, have not been applied to the optimal curing method caused by the simple approaches and the empirical judgements. Therefore, this paper has proposed a evaluation algorithm of the exothermic curing method for representing heating temperature, period, position of hot wire by analyzing the transient heat transfer solution. This has been implemented, moreover, using an object oriented programming language to develop structural analysis system taking account risk parameters. This system is composed of input module, database module, database store module, analysis module, and result generation module. Linkage interface between the central database and each of the related module is implemented by the visual c# concept. Graphic user interface and the relational database table are supported for user's convenience.

  • An experimental study was carried out to investigate the performance of a latent heat storage system using paraffin wax as the phase change material. A thermosyphon was employed to transfer heat from the hot ethylene glycol flowing across the evaporator section of the thermosyphon into the wax. In order to increase the effective thermal conductivity of wax, layers of copper wire mesh were immersed in the wax. Experiments were run for volume ratios of 2%, 3%, and 4%, varying mass flow rate of ethylene glycol in each case. Some of the important results are as follows : (1) The wire mesh enhanced the conductive hea transfer and thus, helped even out the temperature distribution in the wax : (2) The increase of the number of layers of wire mesh increased the conduction. However, it also resulted in increasing the resistance to the convective motion of liquefied wax : and (3) There is an optimal number of layers of wire mesh, maximizing the performance of the storage system, which occurred at a volume ratio of $3{\sim}4%$ in the present study.

  • To analyze the thermal characteristics of wire connection part that is connected to a screw-clamping terminal block depending on screw torque, the normal screw torque defined in KS C 2625 and the abnormal screw torque that can occur due to loosened screws resulting from defective work or aged deterioration were used as experimental variables. After the same load was applied to normal and abnormal screw torques, the thermal characteristics of the wire connector were measured and compared with a thermal imaging camera. The findings from this study will be used to detect heating due to defective screw torque at terminal block connections during electric safety inspection in the future and minimize the hazard of electric fire.

  • Heating wire cutting type separation mechanism has been widely used for cube satellite applications due to its design constraints such as small size of $10cm{\times}10cm{\times}10cm$ and light weight of less than 1kg. In addition, usage of pyro technic device is not allowed for cube satellite application. The conventional methods have some disadvantages of relatively small mechanical constraint force and the system complexity for the multi-deployable systems. In this paper, a separation nut type non-explosive separation mechanism has been proposed and investigated. The effectiveness of the design has been verified through the qualification tests of the mechanism.

  • In this paper, the optimum RPM was suggested comparing rotor filling rate of RPM through the analysis of rotor's filling rate as studying and developing centrifugal-casting machine's method for high precision rotor in order to increase the related types of business's productivity. The result was similar to other result in industrial site, showing 99.47% of filling rate when rotational speeds are 600 rpm, so it is considered that if this result is conducted with additional research, it will be possible to plan a better process design. Besides, the optimum temperature of compact ladle was examined to produce high quality casting product through the analysis of compact ladle's conductivity. In the case of the heating device's absence using nicrome wire, Al solution solidifies falling drastically into $427^{\circ}C$. However, it is feasible to work over $427^{\circ}C$ which is the melting temperature of aluminium solution when the heating device of nicrome wire is included. It reveals that there is little temperature change.
