전투차량용 온수히터 냉각수 누수방지 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Coolant leaks Prevention Design of Heaters for Combat Vehicles)

  • 본 논문은 전투차량에 장착되는 온수히터의 코어부위 냉각수 누수방지를 위한 설계에 관한 것이다. 온수히터는 가온된 냉각수를 승무원실의 히터 코어에 흘려 난방하는 장치로, 전투차량 운용 시 온수히터 코어 부위의 냉각수 누수현상이 발생하는 문제점이 확인되었다. 이 문제점은 주로 코어의 탱크와 튜브 부위의 접합부에서 발생하였는데, 이 부위가 취약하여 고압을 가압하였을 때 누수가 발생한 것으로 추정하였다. 이 문제를 개선하기 위하여 용접방식을 개선하고 온수히터 코어 말단 부위를 높은 압력에서 견딜 수 있는 구조로 변경하였다. 기존 코어와 개선 코어에 대하여 순차적으로 압력을 가하였을 때 기존 코어는 7.0 kgf/㎠에서 누수가 발생하였으며 개선 코어는 17.0 kgf/㎠까지 견고하게 구조를 유지하여 개선이 되었음을 입증하였다. 마지막으로 개선한 구조의 체계 적합성을 입증하기 위하여 성능시험 및 환경시험을 실시하였다. 본 논문의 연구결과를 바탕으로 제작된 개선 온수히터는 전투차량에 적용될 예정이며, 신뢰성 확보를 통한 방위력 향상과 유사 장비의 설계 및 고장분석에도 참고자료가 될 것으로 기대된다.

연료전지 자동차용 이산화탄소 열펌프 시스템의 성능평가 (Performance Evaluation of a $CO_2$ Heat Pump System for Fuel Cell Vehicles)

  • The global warming potential (GWP) of $CO_2$ refrigerant is 1/1300 times lower than that of R134a. Furthermore, the size and weight of the automotive heat pump system can decrease because $CO_2$ operates at high pressure with significantly higher discharge temperature and larger temperature change. The presented $CO_2$ heat pump system was designed for both cooling and heating in fuel cell vehicles. In this study, the performance characteristics of the heat pump system were analyzed for heating, and results for performance were provided for operating conditions when using recovered heat from the stack coolant. The performance of the heat pump system with heater core was compared with that of the conventional heating system with heater core and that of the heat pump system without heater core, and thus the heat pump system with heater core showed the best performance among the selected heating systems. On the other hand, the heating performance of two different types of coolant/air heat pump systems with heater core was compared each other at various coolant inlet temperatures. Furthermore, to use exhausted thermal energy through the radiator, experiments were carried out by changing the arrangement of a radiator and an outdoor evaporator, and quantified the heating effectiveness.

적외선 패널히터의 온도분포 측정 (Measurement of Temperature Distribution in the Infrared Panel Heater)

  • Temperature distribution and heating characteristic of the panel heater for infrared heating have been investigated. The temperature variation with time is firstly measured with the thermocouple to figure out the response time of the heater to the power input. The heater reaches faster to the steady state in comparison to the ceramic heater. The infrared thermal imaging system is utilized to investigate the temperature distribution over the heater surface. The measured thermal images show that the thermal boundary layer induced by the free convection near the heater surface affects the temperature distribution on the surface. The images also show the fairly good uniformity of the temperature distribution in the core region of the surface.

Thermal Analysis for Design of Propulsion System Employed in LEO Earth Observation Satellite

  • Thermal analysis is performed to protect the propulsion system of low-earth-orbit earth observation satellite from unwanted thermal disaster like propellant freezing. To implement thermal design adequately, heater powers for the propulsion system estimated through the thermal analysis are decided. Based on those values anticipated herein, the average power for propulsion system becomes 22.02 watts when the only one redundant catalyst bed heater is turned on. When for the preparation of thruster firing, 25.93 watts of the average power is required. All heaters selected for propulsion components operate to prevent propellant freezing meeting the thermal requirements for the propulsion system with the worst-case average voltage, i.e. 25 volts.

  • This paper deals with charging and persistent-current mode operating characteristics of BSCCO magnet load using high-temperature superconducting (HTS) power supply. The HTS power supply consists of two heater-triggered switches, an iron-core transformer with the primary copper winding and the secondary BSCCO solenoid, and a BSCCO magnet load. The magnet load was fabricated by double pancake winding and its inductance is about 21 mH. A hall sensor was installed at the middle of the magnet load to measure the current in the load. In order to investigate the efficient pumping characteristics, operating tests of heater-triggered switch with respect to dc heater current were carried out, and the electromagnet current was determined by considering saturation characteristics of its iron core. The saturation characteristics of charged current in the magnet load were observed with respect to various pumping periods: 12 s, 14 s, 24 s and 32 s. After charging the magnet load, the persistent current was measured. The operating characteristics of the persistent current mode were mainly determined by joint resistance and magnet load.

  • This paper deals with the design and fabrication of a heater-trigger type high-Tc superconducting power supply system, and characteristics have been analyzed through experiments. The high-Tc superconducting power supply consists of two heater trigger and electric magnet, and YBCO superconducting bulk. In this experiment, 0.6T class magnet and dc 2.3A heater current are used, and the current-pumping characteristics have been analyzed with computer aided sequence control system. Hall sensors are installed on the YBCO bulk and in the center of iron core in order to analyze the effect of the flux-pumping on the system with when magnet flux changes its value. In this experiment, maximum pumping-current has been achieved to about 6.6 amps.

수소가스 감지용 가연성 가스센서 제작을 위한 요소기술 개발 (Development of Core Technologies for Integrating Combustible Hydrogen Gas Sensor)

  • Core technologies for integrating hydrogen gas sensor were investigated. In this study, the thermally isolated micro-hot-plate with areas of $100{\times}100-260{\times}260{\mu}m^2$ was fabricated by utilizing surface micromachining technique that provides better manufacturing yield than bulk micromachining counterpart. The optimum design of the sensor was peformed by analyzing the thermal profile of the structure obtained from a ANSYS simulator. The 400-nm-thick polysilicon films doped with phosphorus, the 300-nm-thick aluminum films, and the 200-nm-thick $SnO_2$(or ZnO)films were used as the micro-heater material, the temperature sensor material, and the gas sensitive material, respectively. The experimental results show that the developed gas sensors can detect $H_2$ concentration as low as 1 ppm.

  • 전기자동차 배터리 시스템은 낮은 온도에서 배터리 출력과 수명이 감소하는 문제가 발생한다. 상온 유지를 목적으로 Positive Temperature Coefficient(PTC) 히터가 사용되고 있다. 하지만 PTC 히터는 복잡한 절연구조로 인해 중량이 크다. 중량이 클수록 전기자동차의 연비가 감소한다. 반면에 인덕션 히터는 단순한 절연 구조로 중량 저감에 효과적이며 빠른 온도 상승 특성을 가지고 있다. 따라서 전기자동차용 히터는 인덕션 히터가 적합하다. 인덕션 히터는 LC공진 회로로 구성된다. 정전용량이 클수록 가격과 중량이 상승하기 때문에 인덕턴스를 높여 정전용량을 감소시켜야한다. 또한 인덕션 히터의 주 발열원은 철손이다. 따라서 전자기장 설계 관점에서 인덕턴스 및 철손의 최적화가 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 인덕션 히터 구조 변경에 따른 인덕턴스 및 철손을 다구찌 기법과 유한요소법(FEM) 시뮬레이션을 통해 분석하고 최적화 설계하였다.

Growth Strategy of PASECO as a Global Electronic Company: Focusing on the Middle East Market

  • Purpose - This study aims to analyze PASECO's environment and strategies during its advance into the Middle East to find out the success factors of the kerosene heater market and provide strategic implications for small and medium enterprises' growth based on these factors. Research design and methodology - This study analyzes the success factors of companies operating in the Middle East. As a case analysis study, the method of research analyzes case enterprises through existing literature, newspaper articles, and corporate interview materials. Results - PASECO's success was shown by its high technological power in kerosene heater products, understanding customers' needs, understanding the Middle East market and localization strategy. Conclusions - PASECO has been constantly developing R&D capability to secure competitive products and has released localized products to enhance the satisfaction of its customers in the Middle East and has also been successful by constantly creating new opportunities. The firm's success strategies provide implications for small and medium-sized businesses for greater growth.

하나로 수조 방사선 준위의 저감 특성 (Reduction Characteristics of Pool Top Radiation Level in HANARO)

  • HANARO, 30MW of research reactor, was installed at the depth of 13m of open pool, The $90\%$ of primary coolant was designed to pass through the core and to remove the reaction heat of the core. The rest $10\%$, of the primary coolant was designed to bypass the core. And the reactor coolant through and bypass the core was inhaled at the top of chimney by the coolant pump to protect that the radiated gas was lifted to the top of reactor pool. But, the part of core bypass coolant was not inhaled by the reactor coolant pump and reached at the top of reactor pool by natural convection and increased the radiation level on the top of reactor pool. To reduce the radiation level by protecting the natural convection of the core bypass flow, the hot water layer (HWL, hereinafter) was installed with the depth of 1.2m from the top of reactor pool. As the HWL was normally operated, the radiation level was reduced to five percent ($5\%$) in comparing with that before the installation of the HWL. When HANARO was operated with higher temperature than the normal temperature of the HWL by operating the standby heater, it was found that the radiation level was more reduced than that before operation. To verify the reason, the heat loss of the HWL was calculated. It was confirmed through the results that the larger the temperature difference between the HWL and reactor hall was, the more the evaporation loss was increased. And it was verified that the radiation level above was reduced more safely by increasing the capacity of heater.
