1. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to survey the Original symptoms(素證) of Soyangin's and to compare the tendency of their symptoms between Soyangin Heat-related diarrhea accompanied by headache(身熱頭痛亡陰證) and Soyangin Cold-related diarrhea accompanied by abdominal pain(身寒腹痛亡陰證). 2. Methods: We recruited 56 Soyangin subjects in the Korean Medicine clinic and researched their original symptoms. Subjects were diagnosed by the Sasang Constitutional specialists and Sasang Constitutional Medication. Subjects were two groups, confirmed to Soyangin Heat-related diarrhea accompanied by headache and Soyangin Cold-related diarrhea accompanied by abdominal pain. All subjects answered the questionnaire about their Original symptoms. We found the differences between 2 groups using the Independent-Samples T-test. Analysis was conducted using SPSS 12.0 for Korean. 3. Results and Conclusions: In Original symptoms, Tendency of overeating(p=0.01), Condition of digestion(p=0.04), Perspiration after exercise (p=0.02), Usual perspiration(p=0.00), Tiredness after perspiration(p=0.05) Cold intolerance on extremities(p=0.04), General edema(p=0.01) etc. are different between 2 groups. We found the differences of heat and cold in symptoms between two Soyangin syndromes.

1. Objectives : The aim of this study was to survey the Original symptoms of Soyangin's and to compare the tendency of their symptoms between Soyangin Gyolhyungjeung and Soyangin Heat-related diarrhea accompanied by headache in patients of indigestion. 2. Methods : We recruited 76 Soyangin subjects in the Korean Medicine clinic and researched their original symptoms. Subjects were diagnosed by the Sasang Constitutional specialists and Sasang Constitutional Medication. Subjects were two groups, confirmed to Soyangin Gyolhyungjeung and Soyangin Heat-related diarrhea accompanied by headache. All subjects answered the questionnaire about their Original symptoms. We found the differences between 2 groups using the Mann-Whitney U Test. Analysis was conducted using SPSS 18.0 for Korean. 3. Results : In Original symptoms, there was no difference between 2 groups in sleep, appetite, digestion, eating habits, water temperature, function of bowel movement, urination, sweating, sensitivity to coldness and sensitivity to warmness. But there was difference between 2 groups in frequency of defecation & hardness of feces(p=0.027). 4. Conclusions : We found the differences of heat and cold in symptoms between two Soyangin syndromes.

Objectives This research was proposed to present Clinical Practice Guideline(CPG) for Soyangin Disease of Sasang Constitutional Medicine(SCM): Yin-Depletion (Mangeum) Symptomatology. The CPG was developed by the national-wide experts committee consisting of SCM professors. Methods The CPG was developed by the national-wide experts committee considering of the society of Sasang Constitutional Medicine. It was performed by search and collection of literature related SCM, opinion of SCM experts and journal search and it was followed by CPG's guideline. Results & Conclusions The CPG of Yin-Depletion (Mangeum) Symptomatology in Soyangin Disease include classification, definition and standard symptoms of each pattern. Yin-Depletion (Mangeum) Symptomatology is classified into severe and critical pattern by severity. The severe pattern of Yin-Depletion (Mangeum) Symptomatology is classified into the pattern of Heat-related diarrhea accompanied by headache (Sinyeol-dutong Mangeum) and the advanced pattern of Heat-related diarrhea accompanied by headache (Sinyeol-dutong Mangeum). The critical pattern of Yin-Depletion (Mangeum) Symptomatology is classified into the pattern of Cold-related diarrhea accompanied by the abdominal pain (Sinhan-bocktong Mangeum) and the advanced pattern of Cold-related diarrhea accompanied by abdominal pain (Sinhan-bocktong Mangeum).

Objectives The aim of this study was to report significant improvement of hyperhidrosis after treatment with Hyungbangsabaek-san (荊防瀉白散), in a Soyangin Mangeum Symptomatic pattern Patient. Methods The patients were diagnosed with Soyang Sin-Yeol Du-Tong Mang-Eum Symptomatology(身熱頭痛亡陰證) and treated with Hyungbangsabaek-san(荊防瀉白散). The primary outcome measure for this study were sweat using a questionnaire with visual analogue scale(VAS). Secondary outcome assessment included change of odinary symptoms such as patient's sleep, feces and digestion. Results The symptoms of hyperhidrosis disappeared by the end of the accure period without side effect. Original symptoms were also changed. Conclusions This result show Hyungbangsabaek-san(荊防瀉白散) can be used to treat hyperhidrosis in a Soyangin Heat-related diarrhea accompanied by headache Mangeum(身熱頭痛亡陰) symptomatic pattern patient. Meaning and process of hyperhidrosis are different according to Sasang Constitutions.
