  • This paper gives the application method for Electric Heat Rump to DSM programs. The EHP has a function transfer heat and uses electricity as a energy source. In nowadays, as oil prices go up, many People uses the EHP, instead of GHP, the electric power peak load is escalating gradually. By that reason, to achieve successful load leveling, new DSM programs for EHP is needed. Under those circumstances, we discussed about the need of DSM programs for EHP, and the detail method for application EHP to DSM programs in this paper. And we dealt with the site specific test for EHP, and analyzed the test result.

침탄처리한 Ni-Cr-Mo강의 마찰-마모특성 (Friction-Wear Properties of Carburized SNCM)

  • In this study, friction-wear test was carried out on the carburized layer depth of a mechanical structure steel SNCM carburized with RX and LPG for 7hrs at $930^{\circ}C$ and also the wear properties of wear loss, wear rate, coefficient of friction, friction force and friction temperature were investigated. The wear properties for carburized layer of SNCM were tested on dry condition at the room temperature by the thrust load of 49~245N range at sliding speed of 0.2m/sec and the sliding speed of 0.2~1.0m/sec range at thrust load of 98N. Wear loss on the depth of carburizing layer was increased with increasing of thrust load and sliding speed, and with decreasing of hardness. The condition of worn surfaces were showed mild wear at less than the thrust load of 98N and sliding speed of 0.6m/sec but were showed severe wear at more than 98N and 0.6m/sec. The friction load and temperature were increased with increasing of thrust load but with increasing sliding speed was appeared minimum at 0.6m/sec. With increasing thrust load the wear rate was increased and the coefficient of friction was decreased, but with increasing sliding speed the wear rate and the coefficient of friction were decreased in 0.2~0.6m/sec and increased in 0.6~1.0m/sec, therefore 0.6m/sec in this testing is a transition velocity.

  • To guarantee life time more than 20 years for manufacturer without stopping photovoltaic(PV) system, it is really important to test the module in realistic time and condition compared to outside weather. In here, we tested PV modules in highly stressed condition compared to IEC standards. In IEC 61215 and IEC 61646 standards, damp-heat, thermal cycle(TC200) and mechanical test are main test items for evaluating long-term durability of PV module in controlled temperature and humidity condition. So in this paper, we have lengthened the test time for TC200 and damp-heat test and increased the loading stress on surface of module. Through this test, we can get some clue of proper the method for measuring realistic life cycle of PV modules and suggested the minimum time for PV test method. The detail description is specified as the following paper.

  • The study on the wear characteristics of compound layers formed during gaseous nitrocarburising in the medium carbon boron steels and the plain carbon steel has been carried out by using a pin-on-disc type wear test machine under the oil lubricating condition at room temperature and by varying applied loads, sliding speeds and wear distances. Values of friction coefficient measured at the sliding speed of 0.4m/sec under the oil lubricating condition have been shown to decrease considerably with increasing applied load and become gradually a constant value as load is increased to a higher value, showing that the transition load for friction coefficient appears at an applied load of 247.2N. The length and volume wear rates of compound layer have been revealed to relatively constantly increase, also showing that the wear life per unit thickness of compound layer turns out to be superior as porous layer has a denser and thinner appearance. As the sliding speed increases during wear test performed by varying sliding speed at a load of 63.2N under the oil lubricating condition for medium carbon boron steel nitrocarburised in gas atmosphere, the wear rate has been found to increase, the friction coefficient to decrease and the wear life per unit thickness of compound layer to decrease considerably.

  • The Performance of U-tube ground heat exchanger for geothermal heat Pump systems depends on the thermal properties of the soil, as well as grout or backfill materials in the borehole. In-situ tests provide a means of estimating some of these properties. In this study, in-situ thermal response tests were completed on two vertical boreholes, 130 m deep with 62 mm diameter high density polyethylene U-tubes. The tests were conducted by adding a monitored amount of heat to water over a $17\~18$ hour period for each vertical boreholes. By monitoring the water temperatures entering and exiting the loop and heat load, overall thermal conductivity values of grout/soil formation were determined. Two parameter estimation models for evaluation of thermal response test data were compared when applied on the same temperature response data. One model is based on line-source theory and the other is a numerical one-dimensional finite difference model. The average thermal conductivity deviation between measured data and these models is of the magnitude $1\%$ to $5\%$.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the performance of a sea water heat source cascade heat pump system. R717(Ammonia) is used for a low-stage working fluid while R134a is for a high-stage. In order to gain a high temperature supply water in winter season, the system is designed to perform a cascade cycle. In this study, two experiments were carried out. One is a system starting test from the low load temperature of $10^{\circ}C$. The other is a system performance investigation over the R717 compressor capacity changes. Experimental results show that when it starts from the low load temperature, the suction temperature of the low-stage compressor is higher than that of a high-stage. The system performance increases when a water source temperature or a low-stage compressor rotational frequency goes higher.

  • The heavy thermal load to battle tanks can cause electronic components' malfunction and crew to be put out of action. The thermal load is generated from Internal heat sources such as electronic devices installed in the room as well as extremely hot weather. In this study, heat and flow analysis for the cabin room of a battle tank was performed to deal with this thermal problem. This study presented the validation of simulation results in comparison with those of test, the investigation of optimal flow design for effective cooling in cabin room and finally the evaluation of thermal comforts to crew.

가공열처리한 Al-Zn-Mg 합금의 피로균열 성장거동에 미치는 하중비의 영향 (Effects of Load Ratio on Fatigue Crack Growth in a TMT Treated Al-Zn-Mg Alloy)

  • Fundmental fatigue crack propagation tests with C-T type specimens were conducted at various load ratios (R) such as 0.1, 0.3 and 0.5 in T6 and Thermomechanically treated (TMT) conditions of 7039 Al alloy. Better mechanical properties from monotonic test as well as fatigue crack propagation were obtained by TMT process owing to uniform distribution of fine microstructures and non-existence of precipitation free zone (PFZ). Through the measurement of Kop and ${\Delta}K$ at various R the concept of effective stress intensity factor range ratio, U was reviewed to asses the load ratio effect on fatigue crack propagation. A relationship between U and variables such as ${\Delta}K$ and R was obtained empirically. This may enable us to predict ${\Delta}K_{eff}$ that is of critical importance for prediction of fatigue crack propagation rate.

  • High temperature superconducting power cable requires forced flow cooling. Liquid nitrogen is circulated by a pump and cooled back by cooling system. Typical operating temperature range is expected to be between 65K and 80K. Subcooler heat exchanger uses saturated liquid nitrogen boiling on the shell side to subcool the circulating liquid nitrogen stream that cools the HTS cable. The paper describes performance tests of the cooling system. The test items are heat exchanging performance of subcooler. pressure drop between supply and return lines, heat transfer coefficient inside former, cable cryostat heat leak and simulation of electrical load of HTS cable.
