The thermal ratcheting deformation at the reactor baffle and upper internal structure of the liquid metal reactor (LMR) can occur due to movement of the hot sodium free surface. In in-service inspection of reactor internals of LMR, a new inspection technique should be developed for the detection of the thermal ratcheting damage. In this study, an inspection technique using ultrasonic guided wave is proposed for the detection of the thermal ratcheting damage of cylindrical vessels. A 316L stainless steel cylindrical shell specimen has been prepared. The thermal ratchet structural tests were cyclically performed by heat-up up to $550^{\circ}C$ with steep temperature gradients along the axial direction after cool-down by cooling water. Ultrasonic guided wave propagation has been characterized by analysis of dispersion curve of the stainless steel plate. The zero-order antisymmetric $A_0$ guided wave has been selected as the optimal mode for detection of the ratcheting deformation. It is confirmed that the thermal ratcheting deformation can be detected by the measurement of transit time difference of circumferentially propagated $A_0$ guided waves.
Rather than causing damage from heat, blast, and radiation of a regular nuclear weapon, recently, it is predicted that North Korea has been inventing high altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP) missile in order to incapacitate electronic equipment. HEMP shielding facility is used for military purpose today. Despite the electromagnetic shielding effects from high quality compression plates, problems may include such as the possibility of electromagnetic influx resulting in the welding of the compression plates, and difficulties and high cost of construction. Therefore, in this study, a high electrical conducting material was added to the concrete experimental subject to ensure the shielding effect through electromagnetic waves to for the concrete structure, instead of building a shielding facility separately for the structure. Also, among the experimental subjects, 100 ${\mu}m$ of Iron-Aluminum alloy metal spraying coat was applied to two types with the highest shielding effect, and to two types with the lowest shielding effect. The result of the experiment indicates that experimental subjects added with a high electrical conductivity material did not meet the minimum shielding criteria of MIL-STD-118-125-1 standard, but all the experimental material applied to the metal spraying coating satisfied the minimum shielding criteria. In conclusion, it is considered that 100 µm of Iron-Aluminum alloy metal spraying coat contains high efficiency in the HEMP shielding.
Due to the cases of recent global warming and unusual weather etc., large-scale natural disasters such as typhoons, floods, snow damage occur frequently across the continents such as Southeast Asia and North America, South America etc. and risks of earthquakes and tsunami are also increasing gradually in Korea which has been regarded as a safe zone and disaster types are also being diversified such as typhoons, floods, heat waves, heavy snow and damage scale is also enlarged. In addition, due to geographical characteristics or lack of infrastructure, disasters tended to occur intensively around a specific region or city in the past but disasters occur throughout the country in recent years so preparation for disaster prevention has emerged as an urgent challenge issue. Therefore, considering that the plan of obtaining the effective feedback function of disaster Information is very important in the proactive and software aspects for disaster reduction, this paper analyzed this three aspects of contents, procedural and contextual aspects and proposed the plan. First, in the content aspect, building disaster prevention information communication Infrastructure, building urban and regional disaster prevention system, obtaining concurrency and sharing of information and second, in the procedural aspect, active utilization of ICT(Information and Communication Technology) of the prevention stage, disaster prevention information collection and analysis reinforcement of the preparation stage, improvement of decision-making structure and field command system of the response stage, recovery system related information promotion of the recovery stage were proposed as alternatives and finally, in the contextual aspect, if disaster prevention information is effectively managed through maintenance of disaster prevention information related systems, obtaining domainality by disaster prevention work, improvement of the ability to judge the situation, obtaining comprehensive and feedback function etc, it is considered to significantly contribute to reducing natural disasters.

The moxibustion therapy of orient medical is well known. Moxibustion method is used to burning moxibustion. The variation factors of the moxibustion stimulation for body can be applied to the electronic moxibustion method. This study is to analyze and examine the electroencephalogram(EEG) variations for moxibustion stimulation. In experiment, we divided six healthy male subjects into two same sized groups : with and without stimuli. The given stimuli are the moxibustion for CV4(Kwan-Won), CV8(Shin-Guel), and CV12(Jung-wan) acupuncture points. We have analyzed the power spectrum for ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$, ${\delta}$, ${\Theta}$ waves and the average EEG variation level and each channels variation level of EEG. The result was that the moxibustion stimulation decreased the EEG levels of parietal lobe(ch 2, 3, 6, 7) according to the somatosensory system. And the apparent different points are that mild-heat($42{\sim}44^{\circ}C$) stimulation generating ${\alpha}$-wave is increased and ${\beta}$-wave is decreased, also slight-hot($45{\sim}48^{\circ}C$) stimulation made ${\alpha}$-wave decrease and ${\beta}$-wave increase for occipital lobe(ch 4,8) on the simulation group.
This study investigates the temporal and spatial variations of marine meterological elements (air temperature (Temp), Sea Surface Temperature (SST), and Significant Wave Height (SWH)) in seven coastal waters of South Korea, using hourly data observed at marine meteorological buoys (10 sites), Automatic Weather System on lighthouse (lighthouse AWS) (9 sites), and AWS (20 sites) during 2013-2017. We also compared the characteristics of Temp, SST, and air-sea temperature difference (Temp-SST) between sea fog and non-sea-fog events. In general, annual mean values of Temp and SST in most of the coastal waters were highest (especially in the southern part of Jeju Island) in 2016, due to heat waves, and lowest (especially in the middle of the West Sea) in 2013 or 2014. The SWH did not vary significantly by year. Wind patterns varied according to coastal waters, but their yearly variations for each coastal water were similar. The maximum monthly/seasonal mean values of Temp and SST occurred in summer (especially in August), and the minimum values in winter (January for Temp and February for SST). Monthly/seasonal mean SWH was highest in winter (especially in December) and lowest in summer (June), while the monthly/seasonal variations in wind speed over most of the coastal waters (except for the southern part of Jeju Island) were similar to those of SWH. In addition, sea fog during spring and summer was likely to be in the form of advection fog, possibly because of the high Temp and low SST (especially clear SST cooling in the eastern part of South Sea in summer), while autumn sea fog varied between different coastal waters (either advection fog or steam fog). The SST (and Temp-SST) during sea fog events in all coastal waters was lower (and more variable) than during non-sea-fog events, and was up to -5.7℃ for SST (up to 5.8℃ for Temp-SST).
Objective: In this study, educational activities were organized to emphasize the importance of natural disaster safety education by reflecting the recent rapid increases in natural disasters. The study focused on story-sharing, art, and game activities to effectively conduct natural disaster safety education for four-year-old children, and in doing so, aimed to improve the children's safety problem-solving abilities and eco-friendly attitude. Methods: Based on the types of natural disasters that are handled by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security and the Chungcheongbuk-do Office of Education, earthquakes, yellow dust, heat waves, floods, typhoons, bolts of lighting, fires, snowstorms, and global warming were included as the study's educational contents, and a total 20 sessions of natural disaster safety education activities were planned. For the subjects, 20 four-year-old children at K Kindergarten attached to a school were selected as an experimental group and 20 four-year-old children at N Kindergarten attached to a school were selected as a control group. Both kindergartens were located in C City, Chungcheongbuk-do. The experimental group was instructed to perform the study's education activities, whereas the control group only carried out general activities based on the Nuri Curriculum's subjects of daily life. Results: As a result, the children in the experimental group, who received the natural disaster safety education, improved their safety problem-solving abilities and eco-friendly attitude when compared to those in the control group. This outcome proved that the natural disaster safety education conducted by the present study offers educational activities that can positively affect improvements in children's safety problem-solving abilities and eco-friendly attitude. Conclusion/Implications: Therefore, the present study is likely to provide concrete information to teachers who plan to conduct natural disaster safety education in the actual early childhood education field.

One of the major problems with the livestock industry is that in the summer, livestock will die from heat waves or infectious diseases. Under these circumstances, what livestock need is a proper indoor temperature and a regular sterilization system. Therefore, in this study, we developed a system that automatically controls the power of the fan according to the temperature inside the shaft, and a function that provides feed and sterilization on a regular basis, so that we could manage the toast efficiently. It also proposed the ability to automatically control the power of the fan, to display the temperature inside the shaft to mobile applications, and to provide food and sterilization. First, the function of controlling the power of the fan automatically turns the fan on when the temperature inside the shaft rises above a certain level. Conversely, if the temperature inside the shaft falls below a certain level, turn off the fan. Second, the function of the mobile application is to check the temperature inside the shaft. The third feeding function is periodically fed using a servo motor, and the feeding provided is delivered to livestock through a conveyor belt. Finally, the sterilization function is a function to sterilize livestock periodically using DC motor pump. The intelligent congratulatory functions proposed in this study may contribute to the health of livestock.
In this study, the main influencing factors of the occurrence of cyanobacteria at each of the eight Multifunctional weirs were derived using a random forest, and a categorical prediction model based on a Algal bloom warning system was developed. As a result of examining the importance of variables in the random forest, it was found that the upstream points were directly affected by weir operation during the occurrence of cyanobacteria. This means that cyanobacteria can be managed through efficient security management. DO and E.C were indicated as major influencers in midstream. The midstream section is a section where large-scale industrial complexes such as Gumi and Gimcheon are concentrated as well as the emissions of basic environmental facilities have a great influence. During the period of heatwave and drought, E.C increases along with the discharge of environmental facilities discharged from the basin, which promotes the outbreak of cyanobacteria. Those monitoring sites located in the middle and lower streams are areas that are most affected by heat waves and droughts, and therefore require preemptive management in preparation for the outbreak of cyanobacteria caused by drought in summer. Through this study, the characteristics of cyanobacteria at each point were analyzed. It can provide basic data for policy decision-making for customized cyanobacteria management.

Unprecedented weather phenomena are occurring because of climate change: extreme heavy rains, heat waves, and severe rain storms after the rainy season. Recently, the frequency of these abnormal phenomena has increased. However, regular pattern or cycles cannot be found. Analysis of annual data or annual average data, which has been established a research method of climate change, should be applied to find frequency and tendencies of extreme climate events. In this paper, extreme indicators of precipitation and temperature marked by objectivity and consistency were established to analyze data collected by 66 observatories throughout Korea operated by the Meteorological Administration. To assess the statistical significance of the data, linear regression and Kendall-Tau method were applied for statistical diagnosis. The indicators were analyzed to find tendencies. The analysis revealed that an increase of precipitation along with a decrease of the number of rainy days. A seasonal trend was also found: precipitation rate and the heavy rainfall threshold increased to a greater extent in the summer(June-August) than in the winter (September-November). In the meanwhile, a tendency of temperature increase was more prominent in the winter (December-February) than in the summer (June-August). In general, this phenomenon was more widespread in inland areas than in coastal areas. Furthermore, the number of winter frost days diminished throughout Korea. As was mentioned in the literature, the progression of climate change has influenced the increase of temperature in the winter.
The aim of this research was to develop a climate change vulnerability index at the district level (Si, Gun, Gu) with respect to the health care sector in Korea. The climate change vulnerability index was esimated based on the four major causes of climate-related illnesses : vector, flood, heat waves, and air pollution/allergies. The vulnerability assessment framework consists of six layers, all of which are based on the IPCC vulnerability concepts (exposure, sensitivity, and adaptive capacity) and the pathway of direct and indirect impacts of climate change modulators on health. We collected proxy variables based on the conceptual framework of climate change vulnerability. Data were standardized using the min-max normalization method. We applied the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) weight and aggregated the variables using the non-compensatory multi-criteria approach. To verify the index, sensitivity analysis was conducted by using another aggregation method (geometric transformation method, which was applied to the index of multiple deprivation in the UK) and weight, calculated by the Budget Allocation method. The results showed that it would be possible to identify the vulnerable areas by applying the developed climate change vulnerability assessment index. The climate change vulnerability index could then be used as a valuable tool in setting climate change adaptation policies in the health care sector.
