Since the temperature during summer is higher than the temperature which is suitable for milking cows, high temperature stress have severely affected dairy farmers due to decreased milk production. This study was carried out to investigate the effect of rainwater sprinkling system for reducing heat stress in milking cows during intense heat time. Treatment conditions were divided into 2 types ; No rainwater sprinkling (T1) and Rainwater sprinkling (T2). Temperature in the milking cow shed, feed intake, milk yield, respiration rate and rectal temperature were measured to investigate the effect of hot environment on the physiological, productive responses in milkig cows. The results obtained are summarized as follows : The daily milk yields were 24.5 and 27.4 kg per head in T1 and T2 during experimental period. The respiration rate was significantly higher in T1 than those of T2. The rectal temperature in T1 ($40.6^{\circ}C$) was higher than those of T2 ($39.8^{\circ}C$). It was suggested that rainwater sprinkling system installed in the dairy cow shed was effective means to reduce heat stress of milking cow.

Cryogenic milling which is a combined process of low-temperature treatment and mechanical milling was applied to fabricate high critical current density $(J_c)MgB_2$ bulk superconductors. Liquid nitrogen was used as a coolant, and no solvent or lubricant was used. Spherical Mg ($6-12{\mu}m$, 99.9 % purity) and plate-like B powder (${\sim}1{\mu}m$, 97 % purity) were milled simultaneously for various time periods (0, 2, 4, 6 h) at a rotating speed of 500 rpm using $ZrO_2$ balls. The (Mg+2B) powders milled were pressed into pellets and heat-treated at $700^{\circ}C$ for 1 h in flowing argon. The use of cryomilled powders as raw materials promoted the formation reaction of superconducting $MgB_2$, reduced the grain size of $MgB_2$, and suppressed the formation of impurity MgO. The superconducting critical temperature ($T_c$) of $MgB_2$ was not influenced as the milling time (t) increased up to 6 h. Meanwhile, the critical current density ($J_c$) of $MgB_2$ increased significantly when t increased to 4 h. When t increased further to 6 h, however, $J_c$ decreased. The $J_c$ enhancement of $MgB_2$ by cryogenic milling is attributed to the formation of the fine grain $MgB_2$ and a suppression of the MgO formation.

Globally, rising energy costs and increased energy demand are important issues for the food processing and manufacturing industries, which consume significant amounts of energy throughout the supply chain. Accordingly, there is a need for the development of a real-time energy monitoring and analysis system that can optimize energy use. In this study, a food factory energy monitoring system was proposed based on IoT installed in a food factory, including monitoring of each facility, energy supply and usage monitoring for the heat treatment process, and search functions. The system is based on the IoT sensor of the food processing plant and consists of PLC, database server, OPC-UA server, UI server, API server, and CIMON's HMI. The proposed system builds big data for food factories and provides facility-specific monitoring through collection functions, as well as energy supply and usage monitoring and search service functions for the heat treatment process. This data collection-based energy monitoring system will serve as a guide for the development of a small and medium-sized factory energy monitoring and management system for energy savings. In the future, this system can be used to identify and analyze energy usage to create quantitative energy saving measures that optimize process work.
The wear resistance of Hyper-eutectic Al-Si alloy, have recently been noticed as a new automobile material, was investigated. For the purpose of developing wear resistant Al-Si alloy, some factors which attribute to wear resistance are examined as follows; refinement of primary Si particle during solidification, and effect of refinement on wear resistance and other mechanical properties. The most effective refinement was accomplished by adding both NaF and S, and this improve wear-resistance in abrasive wear type. The wear losses of specimens cast in metal mold were ruduced to 80% of those in sand mold. T6 heat treatment increases hardness, which resulted in reduction of wear loss about $3{\sim}18%$.
Glass ceramics for dental crown prosthesis were prepared by crystallization of CaO-MgO-SiO2-$P_2O_5-TiO_2$ glasses. Their crystallization behaviors have been investigated as a function of heattreatment temperature, holding time and chemical composition in relation to mechinical properties. Crystallization peak temperatures were determined by differential thermal analysis(DTA). Crystalline phases and mircostructures of heat-treated sample were determined by the means of powder X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The final crystalline phase assemblages and the microstructures of the samples were found to be dependent on glass compositions, heattreatment temperature, and holding time. 1st crystallization peak temperature(TP), affected strongly by apatite, was found to be increased or decreased. From the experiment, the following results were obtained : 1. The crystallization peak temperature($T_P$) formed by apatite increased until adding up to 9wt% $TiO_2$ to base glass composition, then decreased above that. 2. Apatite($Ca_{10}P_6O_{25}$), whitlockite(${\beta}-3CaO-P_2O_5$), $\beta$-wollastonite($CaSiO_3$), magnesium tianate($MaTiO_3$) and diopside(CaO-MgO-$2SiO_2$) crystal phase were precipitated in MgO-CaO-$SiO_2-TiO_2-P_2O_5$ glass system containing 9wt% and 11wt% of $TiO_2$ 3. Vickers hardness of samples increased with increasing heat-treatment temperature and Vickers hardness of S415T9 samples heat-treated at 1075 was approxi-mately 813Kg $mm^{-2}$ as maximum value. 4. Vickers hardness of samples increased due to precipitation of apatite, whitlockite, $\beta$-wollastonite, magnesium titanate, and diopside crystal phases within glass matrix.

This study has been performed to investigate the effect of Al addition on High Temperature Gas Nitriding (HTGN) in 13%Cr-0.16%C stainless steel with different Al contents of 0.54%, 1.76% and 2.36%, respectively. HTGN treatment was carried out at $1100^{\circ}C$ for 1 hr, 5 hrs and 10 hrs. Nitrogen-permeated surface layers showed round type carbides of $Cr_{23}C_6$ and needle type nitrides of AlN in the matrix of martensite, representing 600~700 Hv. And the thickness of the surface layer increased with increasing Al content and HTGN treatment time. The inner region that was not permeated nitrogen showed chromium carbides in the mixed phase of martensite and ferrite for the 0.53% Al alloyed steel, however chromium carbides in the matrix of ferrite single phase were shown for the steels with the addition of 1.76%Al and 2.36%Al, representing the hardness of ~200 Hv. During nitrogen permeation from surface to the interior, substitutional elements of Cr, Al and Si moved toward the surface and interstitial element of carbon also moved from interior to the surface. This movement of alloying elements leads high concentration of these elements at the outmost surface, subsequently the lowest peak of substitutional elements were shown in the vicinity of near surface. After showing the lowest peak, the high concentration region of Al and C were formed due to the continuous movement of Al toward the surface. The long discontinuous precipitates of $Cr_{23}C_6$ and AlN were formed along the outmost surface owing to the high concentration of these alloying elements.
The effects of chemical composition and thermal cycling on the martensitic transformation characteristics in Cu-rich, equiatomic and Zr-rich CuZr binary alloys have been studied by calorimetry. Only martensite could be indentified in equiatomic $Cu_{49.9}Zr_{50.1}$ alloy, while $Cu_{10}Zr_7$ and $CuZr_2$ intermetallic compounds as well as martensite were formed by rapid cooling from the melts in Cu-rich $Cu_{52.2}Zr_{47.5}$ alloy and Zr-rich $Cu_{48.4}Zr_{51.6}$ alloy, respectively. The $M_s$ temperature of $Cu_{49.9}Zr_{50.1}$ was $156^{\circ}C$ but those of $Cu_{52.5}Zr_{47.5}$ and $Cu_{48.4}Zr_{51.6}$ alloys, being $109^{\circ}C$ and $138^{\circ}C$, were lower than that of equiatomic $Cu_{49.9}Zr_{50.1}$ alloy. In all the alloys, the $M_s$ temperature has fallen but the $A_s$ temperature has risen, resulting in widening of the transformation hysteresis with thermal cycling. The anomalous characteristics in the transformation temperature are due to the presence of the intermetallic compounds i.e. $Cu_{10}Zr_7$ and $CuZr_2$ formed by an eutectoid reaction during thermal cycling in the temperature range between $-100^{\circ}C$ < $T_c$ < $400^{\circ}C$.
The effect of die upset and heat treatment on the magnetic properties of mechanically ground $Nd_{16}Fe_{78}B_{6}$ alloys has been studied. Although stripe domain patterns parallel to the compression direction were observed after die upset, it was found that crystallographic c-axes of a specimen were not completely aligned along the compression direction' which resulted in the decrease of Br. The average grain size of a die-upset specimen annealed for 5 hours at $1000^{\circ}C$ was about $20\mu\textrm{m}$, resulting in reduced values of Br and $_{i}H_{c}$. The maximum magnetic properties (Br=7.8 kG and $(_{i}H_{c}=14\;kOe) were obtained from the magnet die-upset at $750^{\circ}C$ using the alloy powder ground for 13 hours.
A cold roll-bonding process was applied to fabricate an AA1050/AA6061/AA1050 laminate complex sheet. Two AA1050 and one AA6061 sheets of 2 mm thickness, 40 mm width and 300 mm length were stacked up after surface treatment that included degreasing and wire brushing; material was then reduced to a thickness of 3 mm by one-pass cold rolling. The laminate sheet bonded by the rolling was further reduced to 1.2 mm in thickness by conventional rolling. The rolling was performed at ambient temperature without lubricant using a 2-high mill with a roll diameter of 210 mm. The rolling speed was 5.0 m/sec. The AA1050/AA6061/AA1050 laminate complex sheet fabricated by roll bonding was then hardened by natural aging T4) and artificial aging (T6) treatments. The microstructures of the as-roll bonded and the age hardened Al complex sheets were revealed by optical microscope observation; the mechanical properties were investigated by tensile testing and hardness testing. The strength of the as-roll bonded complex sheet was found to increase by 2.9 times compared to that value of the starting material. In addition, the hardness of the complex sheets increased with cold rolling for AA1050 and age-hardening treatment for AA6061, respectively. After heat treatment, both AA1050 and AA6061 showed typical recrystallization structures in which the grains were equiaxed; however, the grain size was smaller in AA6061 than in AA1050.

An entomopathogenic fungus, Paecilomyces fumosoroceus SFP-198 was isolated in Kyungbuk province, Korea and screened out for the control of Trialeurodes vaporariorum nymphs. It showed 72.5% efficacy against second instars of T. vaporariorum nymphs at 6 days after treatment in the laboratory. To select an active ingredient for the mass production and the formulation, SFP-198 culture products were compared based on their insecticidal activities against T. vaporariorum nymphs. Among them, conidia and blastospores showed much higher insecticidal activity than supernatants. Furthermore, SFP-198 conidia were more heat-resistant than blastospores, and also powder form of conidia was more stable than their suspension form. SFP-198 conidia showed high pathogenicity on not only T. vaporariorum but also Tetranychus urticae in the glasshouse. This result suggested that SFP-198 conidia can be used as a multi-targeting biological control agent against sucking agri- cultural pests, such as whiteflies and mites.
