Personalized Healthcare System for Chronic Disease Care in Cloud Environment

  • The rapid increase in the number of patients with chronic diseases is an important public healthcare issue in many countries, which accelerates many studies on a healthcare system that can, whenever and wherever, extract and process patient data. A patient with a chronic disease conducts self-management in an out-of-hospital environment, particularly in an at-home environment, so it is important to provide integrated and personalized healthcare services for effective care. To help provide effective care for chronic disease patients, we propose a service flow and a new cloud-based personalized healthcare system architecture supporting both at-home and at-hospital environments. The system considers the different characteristics of at-hospital and at-home environments, and it provides various chronic disease care services. A prototype implementation and a predicted cost model are provided to show the effectiveness of the system. The proposed personalized healthcare system can support cost-effective disease care in an at-hospital environment and personalized self-management of chronic disease in an at-home environment.

  • 헬스케어는 정보통신기술을 활용하여 원거리에서 대상자들의 건강상태에 대한 모니터링과 홈 기반의 보건의료 서비스를 제공하는 것이라 할 수 있다. 따라서 헬스케어 서비스는 응급상황 대처를 위한 경보서비스와, 진료자 및 가족에게 대상자와 댁내 환경을 모니터링 할 수 있는 원격지원 서비스로 분류할 수 있다. 여기서, 일반적인 유선 기반의 고정형 생체계측 시스템에서는 두 가지 서비스를 위해서, 실시간으로 높은 신뢰성을 갖는 데이터를 전송하는데 한계가 있다. 그러므로 대상자가 공간적으로 구속을 받지 않고 자유롭게 이동하면서 생체신호 계측 및 응급경보가 가능하도록, 무선 네트워크 환경에서 구현되는 휴대용 헬스케어 시스템을 구현하고자 한다.

  • This paper proposes an ontology-based context-aware home healthcare platform employing environmental factors obtained from home. The proposed platform manages the health of home residents, and notifies relatives or a medical team of critical condition through context-awareness based on home ontology by using information sensed from various sensors. The ontology definition of context-awareness from the sensed information provides technically more precise decision for us. Therefore the platform can be aware of the health state of residents and environment by reasoning exactly from data gathered from various sensors and heterogeneous devices. The platform also can individually provide the customized service for users by setting priority for critical status that can be occurred in the health state of residents.

  • RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) is a method of remotely storing and retrieving data using devices called 'RFID tags'. An RFID tag is a small object, such as an adhesive sticker, that can be attached to or incorporated into a product. RFID tags contain antennas to enable them to receive and respond to radio-frequency queries fro an RFID transceiver. Eventually, RFID SYSTEM is very interesting to watch people live linger than they used to before. Some of reasons for that phenomenon is the improving medical studies. As we live healthier and get to know more about our body, we can extend our lives. This Platform is Physical Health Promotion Service, Home Health Monitoring Service, Mental Health Promotion Service, Home Patient Management Service, Chronic Disease Management Service, Emergency Patient Management Service, Medical Information and Consulting Service of the RFID.

일본 요개호노인 거주시설의 면적변화에 관한 연구 - 개호노인보건시설과 개호노인복지시설을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Change of Area Resulted of Welfare Facilities on the High-Care degree Elderly in Japan - Focused on the Geriatric Health Services Facility and Special Nursing Home for the elderly -)

  • The Japanese elderly welfare policy has focused on facility policy for the aged and preventive care service for healthy elderly people. This paper has conducted a comparative analysis on Geriatric Gealth Services Facility and Special Nursing Home for the Elderly. For this, each service function has been divided into six categories; daily life / nursing and caring / medical service / management / supply / miscellaneous. Then the change in real structure by category has been analyzed through a plan analysis on case facilities. In the Geriatric Health Services Facility, the biggest change was observed in 'livelihood' among six categories. In the Special Nursing Home for the Elderly, 'the nursing and care parts' and 'medical service part' are decreased since 1999. At that time, the facilities started to be individualized and divided into a unit. To pursue home-like care instead of unit care, there was a change in construction planning to help the aged with dementia live a self-sufficient life.

  • Purpose: This secondary data analysis study evaluated the effects of ICT enhanced home-visit nursing in long-term care insurance on health-related quality of life among community-dwelling older adults. Methods: This study included data of 131 older adults who had experienced a pilot service for ICT enhanced home-visit nursing. ICT enhanced home-visit nursing refers to a method of sharing health records and teleconference between a visiting nurse and a doctor during the home-visit nursing services to community-dwelling older adults. Health-related quality of life and influencing factors were analyzed by t-tests, logistic regression analysis using the Stata 17/SE program. Results: After a pilot service for ICT enhanced home-visit nursing, their health-related quality of life increased. The teleconferencing method had a significant effect on the increase in health-related quality of life. Conclusion: The findings indicate a pilot service for ICT enhanced home-visit nursing can be applied to the domestic community-based healthcare service model in terms of health management. In the future, the advanced service model of a pilot service for ICT enhanced home-visit nursing in which subjects conduct detailed for each health problem, and a well-designed evaluation system should be developed.

  • Due to the development of technology and medical care following the 4th industrial revolution, the medical paradigm is shifting towards patient-centered medical services. Based on the development of smart home technology, the residential environment is changing into a residential space that cares for and heals the lifestyles and the healthcare of families. As lifestyle changes, the concept of supporting smart home care based on the residential environment is making it possible to build a smart home IoT service design with enhanced accessibility and convenience for medical appointments and well-being lifestyle care. This paper is a study on user-centered health care smart home IoT service design suitable for family members based on the health care, beauty care, exercise care, and customized diet care beyond the conventional concept of health care monitoring. Based on the analysis, this paper proposes a personal care coordinate smart home service design in a human-centered wellness clinic care smart home service design environment. Human-centered wellness clinic smart home IoT service design is meaningful in presenting a vision for research on smart home service design that links hospital-linked and care-linked service industries, which should be considered from the smart home construction planning stage.

Home Healthcare Service Awareness Survey for Korean Medicine Doctors: a survey study

  • Objectives: Discussions regarding "medical blind spots" in Korea's "aging society" are continuously rising. In addition, the demand for medical attention and care for the elderly and vulnerable populations continues to increase. Given this, the government is promoting the "home healthcare service" project. This study aims to lay the foundation for promoting this project by investigating the perception of clinical Korean Medicine (KM) doctors in the "community health care" project. Methods: With the cooperation of the Association of Korean Medicine, we sent a questionnaire to all KM doctors through e-mail. The survey included personal information, awareness, appropriate disease and intervention, proper visit location, and pros and cons. Results: A total of 602 responses were collected and analyzed. Approximately 20% of the doctors answered that they were well aware of the service, while 55% responded that they did not know about it. For a visit, a KM doctor selected the appropriate diseases in the order of stroke, dementia and Parkinson's disease, osteoarthritis, and chronic diseases. Among treatments, acupuncture, moxibustion, and herbal medicine exhibited similar results. The most common opinion was that KM doctors should schedule their visits once a week for 6-12 months, which was the most prolonged period among the given options. More than 80% (84.1%) of the doctors replied that care projects were highly essential, and about 63.8% expressed their willingness to participate in these projects. Conclusion: To provide appropriate home health care, we must raise awareness among Korean medicine doctors. In addition, the healthcare budget must be increased to provide the required support.

Clustering for Home Healthcare Service Satisfaction using Parameter Selection

  • Recently, the importance of big data continues to be emphasized, and it is applied in various fields based on data mining techniques, which has a great influence on the health care industry. There are many healthcare industries, but only home health care is considered here. However, applying this to real problems does not always give perfect results, which is a problem. Therefore, data mining techniques are used to solve these problems, and the algorithms that affect performance are evaluated. This paper focuses on the effects of healthcare services on patient satisfaction and satisfaction. In order to use the CVParameterSelectin algorithm and the SMOreg algorithm of the classify method of data mining, it was evaluated based on the experiment and the verification of the results. In this paper, we analyzed the services of home health care institutions and the patient satisfaction analysis based on the name, address, service provided by the institution, mood of the patients, etc. In particular, we evaluated the results based on the results of cross validation using these two algorithms. However, the existence of variables that affect the outcome does not give a perfect result. We used the cluster analysis method of weka system to conduct the research of this paper.

  • Purpose: This study sought to determine the possibility of developing the data-sharing infrastructure of an integrated information system to improve the quality of home and visit-based healthcare services. Methods: The articles of study here were the forms used by a visiting healthcare agency, a home healthcare system of a home healthcare agency, and those used in long-term care insurance for elderly. We visited a visit-based healthcare agency and a home healthcare agency to survey their forms and interviewed relevant practitioners, and we searched for forms associated with long-term care insurance for the elderly on the Internet. We then organized the terms in each form and mapped them among the form after analyzing the concepts as a whole to inquiry into the possibility of integration. Results: The mapping procedure divided the terms into those related to personal information, problems and interventions. Mapping between the standard system (Omaha system) and the type of form was also done. Conclusion: In this study, we found that programs were configured differently depending on the objectives of the service. It is necessary to develop the program with an integrated information system by comparing the three services in terms of their distinct advantages, after which such a service should be utilized. The results of this study can serve as a database for the creation of a new integrated system.
