This study analyzes the factors involving clinical practice which have an influence on the satisfaction of students majoring in physical therapy at colleges or universities located in the Pusan and Kyungnam area. We investigated using a self-reporting method 305 students receiving a grade point average between 2.0 and 4.0 and who had finished their clinical practice. We also investigated the characteristics of clinical settings which make up the clinical practice, the general characteristics of the students involved and the characteristics of a clinical teaching method performed by physical therapists versus a teaching method by a professor of a university. The number of students divided according to educational background are as follows: 149 people (48.9% of the total group) were 4 year students, 156 people were 3 year students (51.1% of the total group). Sixty-nine students' or 22.6% of the group were men while women consisted of 236 persons or 77.4% of the group. Four year students had a longer clinical practice period than that of the 3 year students (p<.05). An average satisfaction score of students with their clinical practice was 3.84. The satisfaction scores showed no significant difference between genders, educational backgrounds, and grades. (p>.05). There were no significant differences in the satisfaction score of students with their clinical practice was 3.84. The satisfaction scores showed no significant difference between genders, educational backgrounds, and grades. (p>.05). There were no significant differences in the satisfaction scores regarding the student management system among varying gender or educational backgrounds between the 3 year and 4 year programs. The average satisfaction score with the environment of the physical therapy room was 3.35. And there were no significant differences in the physical therapy room satisfaction score based on sex or educational system (p>.05). The most influential factor of determining clinical practice satisfaction was a student management system of the clinical practice (p<.01). The next most influential factors were the clinical practice period (p<.05), size of facilities (p<.01) and relationship with physical therapists (p<.01) ($R^2$=.554).
This study examined and analyzed the demographical characteristics of the study target and their expectancy level on the factors in selecting dental medical institutes (basic elements of dental clinics, traffic convenience, physical environment of dental clinic and explicit qualification of dentist) with the questionnaire survey method with 222 questionnaires answered and returned (return rate 88.8%) out of 250 copies distributed to the 1st, 2nd and 3rdyear college students attending technical colleges located in Cheongwon-Gun, Chungbuk, Korea from March 26 to April 7, 2009. The results of this study are as follows: 1. The demographical characteristics of the study target group consisting of 225 college students include 92.3% of age 20s (205 students); 123 males (55.4%) and 99 females (44.6%); the number of those who had at least one experience to visit dental clinic was 199 (89.6%) and 23 (10.4%) of those with no-visiting experience. 2. The descriptive statistics for the selection factor showed that basic elements, traffic convenience, physical environment and explicit qualification of dentist were regarded important as in order. In particular, the factors considered in selecting dental clinic was ordered from most to least in their importance beginning with cleanness of dental clinic as the most important factor, dentist's trustworthiness, kindness of medical staffs, low medical fee, dentist's knowledge level, modernized medical equipments and convenience in using medical facilities as the least. On the contrary, brand name of dental clinic, age, college, sex and appearance of dentist were rated low in order in terms of their importance in selecting dental clinic. 3. As for the difference in the selection factors across demographical characteristics, while male students placed importance on traffic convenience and physical environment of dental clinic, female students placed more importance on dentist's qualification and basic elements of dental clinic. With respect to the difference in the selection factors across the visiting experiences, while those with visiting experience regard traffic convenience more importantly, those without visiting experience regarded physical environment of dental clinic, dentist's qualification and basic elements of dental clinic. 4. In terms of pearson correlation coefficient, the result showed that all aspects in selecting dental clinic were positively correlated. Particularly, the correlation between physical environment of dental clinic and dentist's explicit qualification were correlated highest. Significant positive correlations were found high in traffic convenience, physical environment of dental clinic, dentist's explicit qualification and basic elements of dental clinic in order.
Asian dust particles are known to have sizes ranging from a few nanometers up to about a few micrometers. The environmental and health effects depend on the size of the dust particles. The smaller, the farther they are transported, and the deeper they penetrate into the human respiratory system. Sedimentation field-flow fractionation (SdFFF) provides separation of nano to microparticles using a combination of centrifugal force and parabolic laminar flow in a channel. In this study, the steric mode of SdFFF (Sd/StFFF) was tested for size-based separation and characterization of Asian dust particles. Various SdFFF experimental parameters including flow rate, stop-flow time and field strength of the centrifugal field were optimized for the size analysis of Asian dust. The Sd/StFFF calibration curve showed a good linearity with $R^2$ value of 0.9983, and results showed an excellent capability of Sd/StFFF for a size-based separation of micron-sized particles. The optical microscopy (OM) was also used to study the size and the shape of the dust particles. The size distributions of the samples collected during a thick dust period were shifted towards larger sizes than those of the samples collected during thin dust periods. It was also observed that size distribution of the sample collected during dry period shifts further towards larger sizes than that of the samples collected during raining period, suggesting the sizes of the dust particle decrease during raining periods as the components adsorbed on the surface of the dust particles were removed by the rain water. Results show Sd/StFFFis a useful tool for size characterization of environmental particles such as the Asian dust.
To investigate the prevalence of Toxoplasma gondii in pork on the market in Korea, an in-house enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for tissue fluid (CAU-tf-ELISA) was developed using a soluble extract of T. gondii RH strain tachyzoites. As the standard positive controls, the piglets were experimentally infected with T. gondii: Group A (1,000 cysts-containing bradyzoites), Group B (500 cysts-containing bradyzoites) and Group C ($1.0{\times}10^3$ or $1.0{\times}10^4$ tachyzoites). The CAU-tf-ELISA demonstrated infection intensity-dependent positivity toward tissue fluids with average cut-off value 0.15: 100% for Group A, 93.8% for Group B and 40.6% for Group C. When tissue-specific cut-off values 0.066-0.199 were applied, CAU-tf-ELISA showed 96.7% sensitivity, 100% specificity, 100% positive and 90.0% negative predictive values. When compared with the same tissue fluids, performance of CAU-tf-ELISA was better than that of a commercial ELISA kit. Of the 583 Korea domestic pork samples tested, anti-T. gondii antibodies were detected from 9.1% of whole samples and 37.9% from skirt meat highest among pork parts. In the 386 imported frozen pork samples, 1.8% (skirt meat and shoulder blade) were positive for anti-T. gondii antibodies. In Korea, prevalence of anti-T. gondii antibodies in the pork on retail markets appeared high, suggesting that regulations on pig farming and facilities are necessary to supply safe pork on the tables.

Objective: This study was conducted for the nationwide statistical survey of poison exposure to provide the rationale for establishing and developing the poison control center (PCC) in Korea. Design: Study group for Korea PCC in National Medical Center reviewed the medical literature on poison exposure of Korea from death reports of National Statistical Office (NSO), the toxic exposure statistics from the report of National Health Insurance Corporation (NHIC), and poison related data from 119 ambulance services (FD) for the purpose of obtaining the poison and its related data. We also conducted questionnaire from the expert who work in emergency medicine department at the designated 320 emergency medical centers in Korea for the preparedness and acknowledgement about necessity of PCC and their need for that. Results: We reviewed the reliable data from the death report of NSO, poison exposure data from NHIC, and running report from FD. Poisoning death occured at home ($36.7\%$) and hospital ($46.3\%$). Poisoning are more common in rural area than the city area. Patients were seen more frequently in the local clinics than in any hospital. The drugs ($45.7\%$) and pesticide ($18.1\%$) are common poison. Common place to poison exposure were residential area ($39.9\%$), industry ($9\%$). mass residential area ($7\%$). and farm ($6\%$). The education level were primary school ($33.2\%$), high school ($23.7\%$), and middle schol ($21.3\%$) in order. We have to provide the poison guideline for lay public to understand easily, and for medical experts. The medical facilities need to be invested and have more interest for toxicology. All medical staff who work in the designated emergency medical center want PCC to establish. They want to have poison information from hospital ($91.3\%$), regional poison information center ($45.0\%$), regional poison control center ($52.5\%$), nationwide poison information center ($48.8\%$), nationwide poison control center ($46.25\%$), as a role of poison control center. They also want that pcc have poison epidemiologic study and statstics, training program for the experts, registration of rare case of posion on website, reflection of policies to activities for antidote production etc., speedy consultation system for poison analysis, public education, establishment of both regional and national pee, etc. Conclusion: Poison center must be established to provide poison information for all the public and medical experitise, focusing rural area and private clinic, to detoxify, to reduce the cost, time, morbity, and mortality through the whole country.
In the conduct of this study, a web-enabled healthcare system for the management of hypertension was implemented through a hyperlink-based inference approach. The hyperlink-based inference platform was implemented using the hypertext capacity of HTML which ensured accessibility, multimedia facilities, fast response, stability, ease of use and upgrade, and platform independency of expert systems. Many HTML documents, which are hyperlinked to each other based on expert rules, were uploaded beforehand to perform the hyperlink-based inference. The HTML documents were uploaded and maintained automatically by our proprietary tool called the Web-Based Inference System (WeBIS) that supports a graphical user interface (GUI) for the input and edit of decision graphs. Nevertheless, the editing task of the decision graph using the GUI tool is a time consuming and tedious chore when the knowledge engineer must perform it manually. Accordingly, this research implemented an automatic generator of the decision graph for the management of hypertension. As a result, this research suggests a methodology for the development of Web-enabled healthcare systems using the hyperlink-based inference approach and, as an example, implements a Web-enabled healthcare system for hypertension, a platform which performed especially well in the areas of speed and stability.

Objective: After introduction of the Elderly Long Term Care Insurance, number of geriatric hospitals increased greatly. However, few studies were conducted on the satisfaction of the patients of the geriatric hospitals especially on the intention to reuse geriatric hospitals. Methods: The current study modified Sheth's consumption value model, useful for the development of an effective marketing strategy for geriatric hospitals, and tested it in Korean circumstances. The survey was conducted at two municipal hospitals and three private hospitals in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province between August 1 and September 30 of 2012. Data were collected from 472 inpatients who are 60 years or older. The structured research tool was developed and distributed. Factor analysis and hierarchical logistic regression analysis were conducted using SPSS(version 14.0) Results: The result of the research suggested that the satisfaction on rehabilitation services, which is a functional value, among the consumption values was the strongest factor on the intention to reuse geriatric hospitals. Impression of high-end luxury, reliability of care, and outside locus of control on health followed. Conclusion: It is recommended that geriatric hospitals ought to improve rehabilitation programs, facilities, and equipments and enhance kindness of staff to encourage intention to reuse geriatric hospitals.
The Purpose of this study was to assess the willingness to pay(WTP) for the new road construction plan(slip road of urban highway which was advertising extensively to reduce the time to the core of metropolitan area) on housing prices using contingent valuation method(CVM). And this study was an empirical study which was based on the consciousness of residents whose apartment was within the Suwon Si's new plan of 47th road construction zone. In this study, it was revealed that the resident's WTP for the plan of new road construction which was built on the neighborhood of apartment was within the 10 percent of housing prices that was similar to the standard declared price of MLTM(Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs). And also revealed that the difference of sale prices of real estate company was 24 percent. The statistical assessment results show that both the resident's characteristic variables such as gender, incomes, size of apartment and the accessability variables such as distance to parks, schools, department stores, living facilities were positive effects on the prices of apartments significantly. Finally, the house has depreciated than that of MLTM and WTO since torpedoed the road construction plan. These results imply that, we have to take capital appreciation of the property into account due to road construction since the accessibility was very significantly positive internal effects on the apartment housing prices.
