Purpose: This study was conducted to identify factors affecting health behavior related to particulate matter (PM) of among nursing college students. Methods: A cross-sectional survey design was used. Data were collected from 261 volunteering nursing college students from three universities via an online survey. The survey questions measured PM risk perception, self-care agency, and health behavior related to PM. The study was conducted from June 22 to August 21, 2020. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis. Results: The factor with the greatest influence on health behavior related to PM was PM risk perception, followed by self-care agency and the frequency of going out. These variables explained about 41% of the types of health behavior related to PM. Conclusion: PM risk perception and self-nursing agency were found to be significantly correlated with health behavior related to PM. This result suggests that there is a need to develop an educational program for nursing students to improve PM risk perception and self-nursing agency.
Purpose: This study was aimed at identifying levels of compliance of patients with metabolic syndrome and the factors influencing their compliance. Methods: Data were collected from patients with metabolic syndrome at K medical center in 2009 using questionnaires. The data were analyzed using ANOVA, t-test, Scheffe test, Pearson correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The mean score of health behavior compliance was 2.82 (range: 1.43~3.87). Of the factors significantly influencing compliance with health behavior, health perception, exercise efficacy, age and perceived severity explained the 42.8% variance of compliance with health behavior. The factor explaining the highest level of variance was health perception. Conclusion: It is essential for health professionals to consider the aforementioned four factors when developing interventions to increase compliance with health behavior of the patient with metabolic syndrome.
The purpose of this study was to research healthy food behavior and food recognition for each Asian country after subjects had visited Asian restaurants. The subjects of the study were university students from Griffith university and Queensland university, Australia. The survey was conducted from June 1 to 28, 2010. The summary of the analysis is as follows. Firstly, for dietary behavior related to healthy food, 'average' was the most common answer at 41.0% (102 respondents). Regarding the standard of selecting healthy food, 'if it is good for health' was the most common answer, regarding the reasons to like healthy food, 'because it is good for health', was the most common, and for information about healthy food, 'obtain from TV or media' was the most common. Regarding eating healthy food at home or dining out, most respondents answered 'once or twice a week', whereas regarding thinking of eating healthy food while dining out, 'average' was the most common answer. Secondly, the recognition of six Asian cuisines were ranked in the order of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Indian, and Vietnamese. Representative well-being food by country, Bibimbap of Korea, Sushi of Japan, Shark's Fin of China, Tom Yum Kung of Thailand, Curry of India and Goi Cuon of Vietnam were selected. Thirdly, regarding recognition of well-being food, disease effect factor, health-oriented factor, nutrition factor and vegetarian diet factor were extracted. We found that disease effect factor and nutrition factor had positive (+) effects on visiting Asian restaurants due to recognition of well-being foods. Therefore, it is expected that more local people will eat at Asian restaurants if the public relations for Asian restaurants emphasizes harmony between well-being food and Asian food.
The purpose of the study is to examine gender differences in health behaviors and the related factors for the urban elderly population. This study utilized the data from the Suwon city health survey of the elderly in 2001. The data consisted of a random sample of 979 (388 males, 591 females) elderly people aged over 65. The results of the study were as follows. First, the elderly people's health behaviors were different by gender. Concerning health risk-taking behavior, the frequencies of smoking and drinking were higher in males than in females. In terms of health promotive behavior, the regular exercise rate was higher in males than in females. Second, there were different factors that influenced health behaviors by gender. The factors that influenced the health risk-taking behaviors were health status factors for male, and socioeconomic factors for female. The factors that significantly influenced the health promotive behaviors were social supports networks for both gender. Therefore, program priorities need to be modulated in accordance with these gender differences in health behaviors. Moreover, different program strategies are needed that reflect the gender differences in health behavior determinants.
The purpose of this study was to investigate dining-out behavior at ethnic restaurants and its relationship with ethnic restaurant satisfaction based on the food-related lifestyle (FRL) of undergraduate students. A total 306 of questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS ver. 12.0 package. The data were analysed using frequency, chi-square, one-way ANOVA, factor analysis and multiple regression analysis. According to the results of factor analysis, the FRL of undergraduate students categorized into health factor, taste factor, convenience factor and ethnic restaurant satisfaction was influenced by four elements: service & hygiene, food quality & convenience, atmosphere & image and unique culture. In addition, visiting frequency and visiting motivation of all dining-out behaviors at ethnic restaurants were significantly different and the FRL groups had differences in the influence of food quality & convenience, atmosphere & image and unique culture. Futhermore, the health factor of FRL was influenced by all elements of ethnic restaurant satisfaction. The findings indicate that ethnic restaurant owners should provide food with healthy ingredients in addition to unique culture and atmosphere to customers.

This study explored the determinant variables of physical health of the high school students in Korea. Specifically, it explored how the sociodemographic characteristics factor, school factor, delinquent behaviors factor of the students affect their physical health using the 2012 Korean Youth Health Risk Behavior On-line Survey. Using the case of 36,889, this study conducted frequency analysis, t-test, F-test, and multiple regression analysis. As the result of total multiple regression analysis, gender, father's educational level, sibling(s), economic status, grade, academic record, problem drinking, drug use were statistically significant determinant variables of physical health of the high school students in Korea. Also, it delivered some implications for enhancing their physical health.
This study investigated whether dietary factors are more influential factor than other health behavior such as drinking, smoking and exercise on abnormal serum cholesterol level inspite of Korean dietary pattern differences compared to Europeans and Americans. A double case control study model has been used for the study design. One model consisted of high blood cholesterol cases and control. the other model consisted of low blood cholesterol cased and controls. 5.398 sedentary male workers who had taken medical examinations at a university hospital were used as the study subjects. Out of the study subjects, 36individuals with high blood cholesterol cases and 30 individuals with low blood cholesterol cases were selected. For the 66 individual control selection, the individual control selection, the individuals matching method was adopted. The food frequency method was used to collect the data for assessment of the dietary factors. A standardized questionnaire was used to investigate other health behavior. logistic regression analysis was employed to measure the relative importance between the factors considered. There were no statistically significant differences observed in nutrients consumption or other health behavior among the low, normal and high blood cholesterol groups, An overmatching effect had been suspected as the cause of those findings. However, the results of logistic regression analysis to identify the factors influencing high serum cholesterol showed that odd ratios of dietary factors such as tocopherol(3.0) and saturated fatty acid(1.6) were higher than I. I of smoking and 1.2 of drinking. Similar results were also observed incases of low serum cholesterol. The above findings imply that although the dietary pattern is quite different from that of Europeans and America, the dietary factor is still a significant factor for abnormal blood cholesterol in Koreans. Therefore, the dietary risk factor identified in high fat consumption populations are still relevant for the relatively healthy Korean as guideline for preventive health practices. This research carried out a survey for 569 students in a junior college of jeollanamdo to provide a needful basic data in developing suitable health promotion program and creating a direction of the oral hygiene education process to intial adult population after holding the oral cavity health action and a affecting factors to it. A collected data obtained the following conclusion. According to school grade, a difference of action factor is Chi-square and Pearson's correlation coeficient in actionfactor and acknowledgement-perception factor and a step-by-step recurrence analysis processed a related factor of the oral health action. 1. A related action factor of the oral health appeared meaningful difference of the oral cavity medical examination, the oral cavity clean device use or not, dental surgery prevention cure or not among the third grade who had the most experience of the oral hygiene education within one year recently. 2. A significant of the oral cavity health acknowledged and perceived and a concern of the oral cavity health, acknowledged the oral cavity health state distribution are the highest in the third grade. 3. According to monthly income, a large income is higher than a small income about self-effects in a relation between the oral cavity health action and acknowledgement-perception factor. the average of a large income is 30.59(${\pm}5.79$). The obstacle of the oral cavity health action is 12.51(${\pm}3.19$). a large income is highest. according to school career, under middle school layer obtained the highest average 16.33(${\pm}3.53$). according to a school year, acknowledge-perception factor of the oral cavity health control of the third grade is the highest(38.81(${\pm}6.25$). 4. In mutual relation between acknowledge-perception factor and the oral cavity health action, a variable constants of meaningful mutual relation are the oral cavity health perception, self-effects, the oral cavity health action obstacle, the oral cavity health action benefit, the oral health action control, aggressive. and they are self-effects, the oral cavity health action in the oral cavity health perception. A significant of the oral cavity health and the oral cavity health action obstacle are the oral cavity health action benefit and the oral cavity health action control. 5. The affecting factors to the oral health action are self-effects, action factor, acknowledged the oral health control.
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Nutrition is a determinant factor of health in elderly people. Independent living in elderly people can be maintained or enhanced by improvement of nutritional behavior. Hence, the present study was conducted to determine the impact of Health Belief Model (HBM)-based intervention on the nutritional behavior of elderly women. SUBJECTS/METHODS: Cluster-random sampling was used to assess the sample of this clinical trial study. The participants of this study attended a 12-week nutrition education program consisting of two (2) sessions per week. There was also a follow-up for another three (3) months. Smart PLS 3.5 and SPSS 19 were used for structural equation modeling, determination of model fitness, and hypotheses testing. RESULTS: The findings indicate that intervention had a significant effect on knowledge improvement as well as the behavior of elderly women. The model explained 5 to 70% of the variance in nutritional behavior. In addition, nutritional behavior was positively affected by the HBM constructs comprised of perceived susceptibility, self-efficacy, perceived benefits, and barriers after the intervention program. CONCLUSION: The results of this study show that HBM-based educational intervention has a significant effect in improving nutritional knowledge and behavior among elderly women.

Purpose: This study was conducted to analyze the health concerns, health behavior, and related factors for elders taking part in activities at senior centers. Method: A total of 811 elders were selected through conveniently sampling. Data were collected from November 21, 2006 to December 20, 2006. Data analysis included frequency, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan test, and Stepwise Multiple Regression using SPSS Win 15.0. Results: For health concerns statistically significant differences were found for gender, age, family, pockety money, sleeping time, regular health check-ups, and exercise. For health behavior statistically significant differences were found for gender, age, family, pocket money, religion, medical insurance, perceived health status, sleeping time, regular health check-ups, chronic illness, regular breakfast, exercise, and drinking. Perceived health status was identified as a variable influencing the health behavior. Conclusion: The results suggest that perceived health status can be considered as factor for significant nursing interventions to help single elders and older elders in senior centers.
