Purpose: This study was conducted to identify resiliency factor, to test causal relationship and effect of resiliency factors on adaptation in families of children with cancer. A conceptual framework was constructed based on McCubbin's resiliency model. Hypotheses were tested with empirical data. Method: Data were collected using self-report questionnaire from 232 families of children with cancer. The collected data were analyzed using the SAS program and LISREL program for covariance structural analysis. Result: Family hardiness and problem-solving coping had significant direct effects on adaptation in families of children with cancer. Social support had significant indirect and total effect on adaptation. Family Schema had significant direct effect on family hardiness and problem-solving coping. Problem-solving communication had a significant direct effect on family hardiness and an indirect effect on family functioning and problem-solving coping. Among the resiliency factors, family hardiness had the greatest effect on adaptation in family of children with cancer. Conclusion: The findings suggest that nursing interventions to enhance family hardiness, problem-solving coping and social support would result in an increase in adaptation in families of children with cancer. An integrated intervention that emphasizes and promotes resiliency factors should be developed and established for families of children with cancer.
Purpose: This research was conducted to the comparison of flipped learning on nursing students' learning motivation, learning attitude and problem solving ability. Method: Flipped learning was a learner-centered learning method. This study was conducted on 93 nursing students and 4th grade students taking community nursing. This study was a comparative experimental study of single group. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS Win 20.0 program. Results: The results of this study showed that the instruction of the flip learning application was statistically different from that before the test in the learning motivation (t=-2.149, p=.034) and problem solving ability (t=2.210, p=.030). However, there was no statistically significant difference in learning attitude. It is thought that the flipped-learning classes was progressed with the learner-centered, and the learner was given a lot of tasks and the preparation time was required. The classes with the flip learning was effective for the motivation and problem solving ability improvement. Conclusion: Therefore, in the next study, it is necessary to design a classes that complements this part in order to positively increase the students' attitude of learning. I would like to apply flipped-learning classes in various subjects.
Purpose: Patients with Parkinson's disease suffer many restrictions in daily life. This case report investigated how intervention with proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF)-based physical therapy can affect the activities of Parkinson's patients. Methods: The subject was a 67-year-old female patient diagnosed with Parkinson's disease 3 years ago. Since the last five months, overall activities have become difficult for her, and she finally visited a hospital to take outpatient physical therapy because of the gait difficulties she suffered. The patient's medical history, system review, body structure and function, and activities were evaluated. The patient had difficulties in activities such as lying down, sitting, standing, maintaining a standing position, and walking. The PNF-based intervention was used for treating the impairments and improving the activities. The intervention was performed for 30 min a day, three times a week, for eight weeks. The qualifier of the international classification of functioning, disability, and health was used to measure the result, and the measurement was conducted before and after the intervention for eight weeks. Results: According to the result, the scores for maintaining a standing position, moving around within the home, and going to the toilet improved to "no problem" from "moderate problem." The scores for shifting the body's center of gravity, walking short distances, and washing oneself improved from "moderate problem" to "mild problem." The scores for sitting and standing improved to "no problem" and "mild problem" from "complete problem." The scores for preparing meals and doing housework improved from "severe problems" to "mild problem" or "moderate problem." The scores for walking long distances, moving around outside the home and other buildings, and using transportation did not show significant changes. Conclusion: Intervention with PNF-based physical therapy improved the activity of patients with Parkinson's disease, thus proving its effectiveness. The case report suggested that a therapist can use PNF as a physical therapy intervention for patients with Parkinson's who suffered restrictions in daily activities.
Purpose: This study analyzed the effects of virtual reality simulation-based problem-based learning on nursing students' critical thinking ability, problem-solving ability, and self-efficacy in the nursing care of women undergoing induction of labor. Methods: A nonequivalent control group pretest and posttest design was employed. The study participants included 52 nursing students (24 in the experimental group and 28 in the control group). The experimental group took a problem-based learning (PBL) class in the first week, and then engaged in self-directed learning using virtual reality simulation. In the second week, lectures about emergency nursing care for induction of labor and drug administration were given. The control group participated in PBL in the first week and lectures in the second week. The study was conducted from April 17 to May 19, 2023. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test, Fisher exact test, analysis of variance, and the independent t-test. Results: Before-and-after differences between the two groups were statistically significant in problem solving ability (t=-5.47, p<.001) and self-efficacy (t=-5.87, p<.001). Critical thinking ability did not show a statistically significant difference between the two groups. The score for satisfaction with the virtual reality simulation program was 3.64±5.88 out of 5 in the experimental group. Conclusion: PBL education using a virtual reality simulation was found to be an effective way of teaching. Although convenience sampling was used, PBL education using virtual reality can be used as an educational strategy to enhance nursing students' problem-solving ability and self-efficacy.

Background: Noncompliance of operators with work procedures is a recurrent problem. This human behavior has been said to be situational and studied by many different approaches (ergonomic and others), which consider the noncompliance with work procedures to be obvious and seek to analyze its causes as well as consequences. Methods: The object of the proposed method is to solve this problem by focusing on the performance of work procedures and ensuring improved performance on a continuous basis. Results: This study has multiple results: (1) assessment of the work procedures' performance by a multicriteria approach; (2) the use of a continuous improvement approach as a framework for the sustainability of the assessment method of work procedures' performance; and (3) adaptation of the Stop-Card as a facilitator support for continuous improvement of work procedures. Conclusion: The proposed method emphasizes to put in value the inputs of continuous improvement of the work procedures in relation with the conventional approaches which adopt the obvious evidence of the noncompliance to the working procedures and seek to analyze the cause-effect relationships related to this unacceptable phenomenon, especially in strategic industry.
Objectives : This cross-sectional study aims to investigate the differences in general health status (GHS) and physical care burdens (PCB) of inpatient groups in long-term care hospitals (LTCH). Methods : The data of 228 patients were analyzed by integrating the electronic medical record (EMR) data of 2016, recorded by the nurses of hospitalized patients in the hospital. Results : There was a statistically significant difference in the GHS between the high-medical demand group and the other groups, but there was no difference in the GHS among other groups. The overall PCB was higher in the high-medical demand group than in the middle-medical demand, and cognitive impairment groups, but not in the problem behavioral group. Conclusions : The current classification of patient groups has shown limitations in terms of the basis of differential benefits of the groups. In particular, the PCB of the problem behavior group was not different from that of any group; hence, it should be adjusted through further study. To control the surge of medical care costs, it is necessary to improve the irrationality of the LTCH pay system in terms of the integration and continuity for elderly care.
Objectives : The Purposes of this study were to investigate payment system for oriental medical treatment as supplier of medical services, and to estimate reasonable levels of medical fee. Methods : This study made these following results by reviewing the answers which were given by 172 Korea traditional doctors from March 1 to April 15, 2006. Results : General satisfaction of payment system for oriental health insurance was $2.17{\pm}1.01$$(mean{\pm}SD)$ on a 1-7 scale (median 4) as very low level. Reasonable medical fees which were answered by 172 Korea traditional doctor are higher than present fees, thus Korea traditional doctors think that present fees should be increased. And according to the survey, current insurance fees have a problem of disparity between each treatment fee. Conclusions : According to results of this study, current fees of oriental medical treatment are not rational. And this problem leads to distortion of medical treatment. Additional studies in thls field are needed.

Employing the available technologies and utilizing the advanced means to improve the level of health care provided to citizens in their various locations. Citizens have the right to get a proper health care services despite the location of their residency or the distance from the health care delivery centers, a goal that can be achieved by utilizing air ambulance systems. In such systems, aircrafts and their life spans are the essential component, the flight duration of the aircraft during its life span is determined by the maintenance schedule. This research, enhances the air ambulance systems by presenting a proposal that maximizes the aircraft flight duration during its life span. The enhancement will be reached by developing a set of algorithms that handles the aircraft maintenance problem. The objective of these algorithms is to minimize the maximum completion time of all maintenance tasks, thus increasing the aircraft operation time. Practical experiments performed to these algorithms showed the ability of these algorithms to achieve the desired goal. The developed algorithms will manage the maintenance scheduling problem to maximize the uptime of the air ambulance which can be achieved by maximizing the minimum life of spare parts. The developed algorithms showed good performance measures during experimental tests. The 3LSL algorithm showed a higher performance compared to other algorithms during all performed experiments.
This study addresses the need to adopt teaching-learning approaches in physical therapy education that develop links between theory and clinical practice in a meaningful way. Problem-based learning (PBL) is presented as a useful way to educate physical therapy for the future. The essential characteristics of problem-based learning include: curricular organization around problems rather than disciplines; an integrated curriculum rather than one separated into clinical and theoretical components; and an inherent emphasis on cognitive skills as well as on knowledge. PBL as implemented in the health sciences, is an educational method in which the focus of learning is a small-group tutorial in which students work through health care scenarios. The goals of the health care scenarios are to provide a context for learning, to activate prior knowledge, to motivate students, and to stimulate discussion. Learning is student-centered rather than faculty-centered, and self-directed learning is emphasized. Whereas the former focuses on critical thinking and clinical judgement, the latter's emphasis is on clinical competency. The physical therapist (PT) program at Cheju Halla college is a partial integrated problem-based curriculum. The history and process of PBL in general and in the PT program are reviewed. Long-term advocates of PBL stress that it is the only known method for preparing future professionals to be able to adapt to change, learning how to reason critically, enabling a holistic approach to health.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine differences between the traditional lecture teaching learning method and action learning teaching learning method of nursing students' leadership, problem solving competence, creativity, and critical thinking disposition. Methods: This study was carried out from February 24, 2014 to May 30, 2014 with 171 nursing students (an experimental group of 88 students and a control group of 83 students) assigned among $2^{nd}$ year students attending nursing departments in U city. The Action learning teaching learning method applied to the experimental group by two experts. The Traditional lecture teaching learning method applied to the control group. In order to compare the differences, a pre and post questionnaire were used. The data gathered was analyzed using the SPSS 22. Results: Upon completion of education the nursing students' leadership, problem solving competence and creativity significantly increased both in the experimental group and in the control group compared to the pre testing phase. The critical thinking disposition significantly increased after education in the experimental group, but there was no significant change in the critical thinking disposition of the control group. Conclusion: To improve nursing students' leadership, problem solving competence, creativity, and critical thinking disposition the action learning teaching learning method appears to be more effective than the traditional lecture teaching learning method.
