This study analyzes how health education program affect elderly's health knowledge, behavior and health state. Also purposes of this program are to have healthy lifestyle and change health behavior to improve life. The subject of study was over 60 years old 175 persons, which include 89 persons of experience group and 86 persons from social well-being center in seoul. The data was collected by measurement of knowledge, behavior on health. The pre-research was performed before health education and post-research was performed immediately after the education. Collected data were analyzed by using the SPSS win 11.0. The results of this study are as follows: 1. The health knowledge points of experience group improved than the control group's and there is statistically significant difference. 2. The health behavior points of experience group were higher than the control group's and the difference was statistically significant. 3. The perceived health state of experience group was better than the control group's and the difference was statistically significant. 4. There are correlations among knowledge, behavior and perceived health state: Knowledge and behavior are positively correlated and behavior and perceived health state have a positive correlation.
Purpose:The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between mothers' oral health knowledge level and oral health behavior and their children,s oral health behavior. Methods:The subjects in this study were 980 mothers and their children of fourth grade, fifth grade and sixth grade in an elementary school in Daegu city, Korea. The data were collected by a structured questionnaire from 26 June to 30 June, 2006. Collected data were analyzed into frequency, One-Way ANOVA, T-test, and correlation analysis using SPSS 10.0 program. Results:First, the mothers, oral health knowledge was significantly associated with their children,s perception of benefit, seriousness and barrier. Second, the mothers, oral health behavior was significantly associated with their children,s frequency of toothbrushing and visiting at dental care facility. Third, the mothers, toothbrushing frequency was significantly associated with their children,s toothbrushing frequency. Fourth, the mother's visiting at dental care facility were significantly associated with their children's visiting at dental care facility. Conclusion:The mothers, oral health knowledge was significantly associated with oral health belief of their children and the mothers, oral health behavior was significantly associated with oral health behavior of their children. Consequently it was necessary to encourage mothers and their children to take part in oral health education programs and oral health projects.
This study investigated the correlations among the health consciousness, nutrition knowledge, dietary habits and nutrition attitudes of school teachers. The subjects of this study were 75 male and 152 female leachers in elementary and middle schools in Masan city. The survey was conducted by using a questionnaire. Even though the average body mass index (BMI) and the obesity index were normal in both male and female subjects, 33.3% of the male subjects were overweight/obese, while 18.5% of the female subjects were underweight, according to the obesity index. The food components of most concern during mealtime were (in order of importance) salt, MSG and cholesterol by male subjects, and salt, fat and MSG by female subjects. The subjects considered self-relaxation as the most important factor in maintaining optimal health status, followed by resting, bathing or use ova sauna, moderation in diet, exercise, decreasing alcohol intake, and no smoking. Newspapers/magazines and TV/radio were the primary sources of nutrition and health information of the subjects. As the degree of health consciousness increased, scores of the dietary habits and nutrition attitudes increased. Nutrition knowledge scores and nutrition altitudes scores increased with subjects'increased level of perception of the importance of acquiring nutrition knowledge and nutrition information. There was a highly significant correlation between the degree of health consciousness and dietary habit score (${\gamma}$ : 0.3, p<0.001). The degree of health consciousness was also significantly correlated (${\gamma}$=0.6, p<0.001) with nutrition attitudes scores. But the correlation between the degree of health consciousness and nutrition knowledge was not statistically significant. The degree of the perception of the importance of nutrition knowledge showed a positive correlation with nutrition attitude (${\gamma}$:0.4, p<0.001) and dietary habit (${\gamma}$:0.3, p<0.001). The degree of perception about the importance of nutrition knowledge and nutrition information was positively correlated with nutrition knowledge (${\gamma}$:0.2, p<0.001) and nutrition attitudes (${\gamma}$:0.3, p<0.001).
As information technology had shown tremendous development in late 20th century, various service opportunities appeared in many industries. Also, new types of service are becoming available such as, reservation, teleconsultation, telemedicine. In health care industry, in which, many hospitals are faced operational difficulties and competing impetuously, a web site has become a effective tool to attract patients and transfer tremendous health information to the patients. This study is based on many previous researches on online service quality, try to figure out e-service quality factors of health information sites, and the factors' effect on users' satisfaction on the web site via providing knowledge and trust on the web site. As a result, usability, site aesthetic, responsiveness and security are the 4 factors to measure e-service quality of health information web site. All factors except site aesthetic have significant effects on providing knowledge, security only effects on trust on the web site.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate North Korean refugees' knowledge of mental illnesses and treatments and analyze the factors affecting this knowledge. Methods: Subjects were selected via a snowball sampling method, and the survey outcomes of 152 North Korean refugee participants were analyzed. The factors affecting knowledge of mental illnesses were analyzed via a regression analysis by constructing a multivariate model with mental illness knowledge score as the dependent variable. Results: The North Korean refugees' mental illness scores ranged from 3 to 24 points, with an average score of 13.0. Regarding the factors that influence mental illness knowledge, the subjects with South Korean spouses and those who had spent more time in South Korea had higher knowledge scores. Furthermore, the subjects who considered the mental health of North Korean refugees to be a serious issue revealed lower knowledge scores than those who did not believe it was a serious issue. The subjects who visit psychiatric clinics showed higher knowledge scores than those who do not. The South Korean subjects who had at least a college education exhibited higher scores than did those without advanced education. The subjects who are satisfied with life in South Korea manifested a higher mental illness knowledge score than those who are not. Conclusions: This study is significant as being the first study to ever measure and evaluate the level of North Korean refugees' knowledge of mental illnesses. In addition, the evaluations of North Korean refugees' mental illness knowledge and influencing factors while residing in South Korea created basic data that formed the foundation of an effort to enhance mental health literacy and provide proper mental health services. The results of this study can be utilized to solve mental health problems that might frequently occur during the unification process of North and South Korea in the future.
Purpose: This research targeted the high school students to analysis the behavior leading to oral health following the level of knowledge of and attitude towards oral health. Going steps further, this research examines the effect of the education on the oral cavity's health on the behavior leading to oral health to provide the need to conduct education on the oral cavity's health. Methods: High school students in the 1st to the 3rd grades in two high schools in Gyeongsangnamdo were targeted to conduct survey on 444 students. Collected data was subjected to the SPSS statistical program to obtain the frequency, percentage and average. Moreover, standard deviation, t-verification, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis and logistics regression analysis were conducted. Results: First, average of the high school students' knowledge of and attitude towards oral cavity's health was higher when the education on the oral cavity's health was received compared to when education on the oral cavity's health was not received. Second, knowledge of and attitude towards oral cavity's health were high when there was the willingness to participate in the education on the oral health. In case education on the oral cavity's health was received, average of the knowledge of oral cavity's health was high, which manifested statistically significant difference. Average of the knowledge of oral cavity's health was high as well in case there is a perception that the need for the education on oral cavity exists. Third, the probability of having had their teeth scaled was higher when the total score for the knowledge of oral cavity's health was higher. The probability of having had their teeth scaled was higher when the score on the attitude for preventing periodontal disease was higher. Conculsion: These results demonstrate that the existence of high school students' education on the oral cavity's health, and knowledge of and attitude towards oral cavity's health exert significant influence on the behavior leading to oral cavity's health.
Purpose: This study was conducted to develop and investigate the effect of a combined health promotion program for preschool children and their parents. Methods: Physical examinations were done for 993 preschoolers in 12 preschools. Their parents (n=727) completed a questionnaire on health status and health knowledge of their children and 35 teachers in preschools completed one on health knowledge of preschoolers. Based on the results of the physical examinations and survey, a combined health promotion program was developed. In order to evaluate the program, 35 teachers and 104 parents participated in the program. The effects of the program were tested and health knowledge before and after the program was analyzed. Results: Health knowledge of parents and teachers increased significantly after attending the combined health promotion program. Conclusion: In order to promote the health of preschoolers, parents and teachers need to participate in combined health programs that provide an opportunity for preschoolers to have a physical examination and their parents to learn about the health care for their children.
Objectives: This study was conducted to examine the immunization, knowledge, and preventive health behaviors for hepatitis A in college students. Methods: Structured questionnaire survey data were collected from a convenient sample of 266 students at two universities in urban areas. Data were analyzed with Pearson correlation coefficient, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple logistic regression analysis. Results: Only 10.5 percent of the students reported having had hepatitis A vaccination. The levels of knowledge and compliance of preventive health behavior were moderate with the mean scores of 15.56(${\pm}2.12$), and 26.78(${\pm}3.41$), respectively. A significant correlation was found between knowledge and preventive health behaviors. The compliance to preventive health behaviors differed by education on hepatitis A in the past. Conclusions: Vaccination rate of hepatitis A found to be low and the knowledge and health behaviors for hepatitis A prevention among university students are limited. Provision of vaccination, education and strategies to enhance preventive health behaviors are warranted to prevent hepatitis A.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to provide substantial foundation to establish effective sex education plan for university students, and to inquire into sexual knowledge, consciousness and values of university students and into whether there are difference between health related major subjects and non-health related major subjects. Methods: This study was conducted on students in 227 health related major subjects and 226 non-health related major subjects in chungbuk C city. The Questionnaire, used in this study, was re-made on basis of reviews and previous studies, and total of 453 questionnaires were used. Results: Sexual knowledge scores were not significantly difference between health related major subjects and non-health related major subjects. but health related major subjects were more educated contraception, pregnancy artificial abortion, sexually transmitted disease than non-health related major subjects. Sexual knowledge was correlated with attitude in sex, times of sex education and usefulness of sex education. Conclusion: The university authorities make a curriculum for systematic sex educations and need to assertive support students and they can have right sexual consciousness and have mature and responsible attitude to sex through right education of knowledge in sex.
Objectives : This study is to dental knowledge and awareness of special education teachers. Methods : This study is conducted with a total of 244 special education teachers in Dae Gu, Gyeong Buk, Gyeong Nam, Bu San city from 1st April to 30th April, 2011. Results : More healthy state of oral health reflected higher point of oral health behavior. In the correlation among the oral health knowledge, behavior and education, higher oral health knowledge reflected higher oral health behavior. In the obstacle factors against oral health education, 41.0% was in the lack of professionalism and understanding of oral health education. The majority method for oral health education was regular teaching and the oral health in charge of education was school nurse 67.1%. The most important point for improvement for oral health class enabled was oral health recognition of teachers about the importance of education. Conclusions : For improving the oral health of the disabled, it is needed to develop the educational program or awareness of oral health monitoring like applying fluorine by special education teachers and parents, including the necessity of various oral health education development suitable for the special education school to make awareness in the importance and necessity of oral health.
