A Study on Relationship between Curving Noise and Wheel Wear in Seoul Subway System (지하철 곡선부소음과 차륜 마모와의 관계에 관한 연구)

  • There are many curves in Seoul subway system. Therefore, the noise from subway system in curved line gives displeasure to passenger. The subway noise in curved line is affected not only by rail condition but also wheel condition and dynamic characteristics. The railway curving noise can be divided into 2 categories. The first is the noise due to stick-slip between wheel tread and rail head, and the second is one by wheel flange contact on rail side. Because of these phenomena - stick-slip and wheel flange contact - wheels are worn seriously. In this study the curving noise was reviewed by using eigen-mode of wheel and waterfall plot which shows noise level in time-frequency domain. And also those were reviewed in viewpoint of stick-slip noise and wheel flange contact noise. Finally, the relationship between curving noise and wheel wear was studied.

The Formative Characteristics of Ukrainian Ethnic Dresses (우크라이나 민족복식의 조형성)

  • The traditional Ukrain costume has been gradually developed and influenced by the climate and political, economical environments. The national costumes has represented the beliefs and understanding of people about the beauty and harmony of the world. Eastern Europe and Northern Asia are considered as the origins of the Korean traditional costume, and the artifacts ranged from over the Black Sea to ‘Skitai’ and Northern Asia to ‘Noinoola’ support this hypothesis. This study is investigate the formative characteristics of Ukrain national costume especially of the nineteenth century and the early twentieth century. In Ukrain, Men wear ‘Rubaha’ (shirts style's upper garment-in Ukrain Sarochka) and trousers, women wear ‘Rubaha’ with vest and a skirt and a head gear were worn. Ukrain is consisted with three group - 1) Dnipro region-included the Kiev region in the center of Ukrain, 2) Polissia region in the northwest of Ukra in and 3) Hutsul-Zakarpattia region in the west of Ukrain. These three groups have there own different formative characteristics of Ukrain traditional costume.

  • I observed the important factors of clothing transition - Changes of Korean clothing & reception of Western-style dress - through the survey of the clothing of girl students during the period of enlightenment(1900∼1945) in this study as follows. 1) Stop to use of a long hood an old-fashioned woman shawI(once used to cover th head and upper body when going out). 2) Appearance of same colored Korean costume of the upper and lower sides. 3) Appearance of a short seamless one-piece skirt with a pair of shoulder girdles. 4) Appearance of school uniform, upper white lower black-Korean costume. 5) Appearance of school uniform, Western style. 6) Appearance of sports-wear. 7) Reformation of under-wear. 8) Appearance of short hair. 9) Appearance of socks & stockings and shoes.

  • 타이타늄(CP Ti)과 타?늄합금은 인체의 골격을 구성하고 있는 물질과 가장 흡사한 물리적 성질과 우수한 생체적합성으로 인해 임플란트용 재료로 많이 사용되고 있으며, 최근에 인공관절이나 치근으로의 사용이 증가하고 있다. 그러나 교합면에서의 취약한 마모특성으로 인해 wear debris에 의한 골 흡수 및 이완 등을 야기하는 문제점으로, 이의 개선에 관한 연구가 활발히 진행되어 왔다. 다이아몬드상 카본 (Diamond-Like-Carbon) 박막은, 다이아몬드와 유사한 높은 경도, 내마모성 그리고 화학적 안정성 등의 매우 우수한 물리화학적 특성을 가지고 있는 박막재료로 고체 윤활박막으로서 hard disk나 VCR head drum의 보호막, 우주항공기의 bearing 재료코팅 등으로의 적용이 최근에 급격히 증가하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이와 같은 특성을 지닌 다이아몬드상 카본 박막의 생체재료로의 적용을 위해, CP Ti과 Ti-6Al-4V에 13.56MHz를 사용하는 r.f PACVD법으로 DLC를 증착하여 생체적합적 특성을 조사하였다. C6H6 가스를 사용하여 1$\mu\textrm{m}$의 두께로 DLC 박막을 증착하였으며, 기판과의 밀찰력 향상을 위해 Si을 증간층으로 합성하였다. 마모특성은 pin-on-disk type wear tester을 사용하였으며 직경 5mm의 ruby ball로 실험을 수행하였다.

  • The cutting characteristics of Ti-6Al-4V alloy and total wear when machining Ti-6Al-4V alloy was studied to understand the machining characteristics. This material is one of the strong candidate materials present and future aerospace or met ical applications. Nowadays their usage has already been broaden to commercial applications such as golf club head, finger rings and many decorative items. Anticipating the general use of this material and development of the titanium alloy in domestic facilities, the review and the study of the machining parameters far those alloys are deemed necessary. This study is concentrated to the machining parameters of the Ti-6Al-4V alloy due to their dominant position in the production of tita mum alloys.

Determinants of User Satisfaction with Mobile VR Headsets: The Human Factors Approach by the User Reviews Analysis and Product Lab Testing

  • Since the VR market is expected to have a high growth, this study aimed to investigate the human factor-related determinants of user satisfaction with mobile VR headsets. A pre-study of customer reviews was conducted with the help of semantic network analysis to identify the core keywords for understanding negative and positive predictors of mobile VR headset experiences. Through laboratory testing with three different commercial models, the main study measured and identified the predictors of user satisfaction. From the results, five factors were extracted as valid predictor variables and used for regression analysis. These factors were immersion, VR sickness, usability, wear-ability and menu navigation interface. All the five predictors were proved to be significant determinants of the perceived user satisfaction with mobile VR headsets. Usability was the strongest predictor, followed by VR sickness and wear-ability. Practical and theoretical implications of the results were discussed.

Short- to mid-term outcomes of radial head replacement for complex radial head fractures

  • Background: The purpose of the current study was to investigate short- to mid-term outcomes and complications following radial head replacement (RHR) for complex radial head fractures and to identify factors associated with clinical outcomes. Methods: Twenty-four patients with complex radial head fractures were treated by RHR. The mean age of the patients was 49.8 years (range, 19-73 years). Clinical and radiographic outcomes were evaluated for a mean follow-up period of 58.9 months (range, 27-163 months) using the visual analog scale (VAS) score for pain, the Mayo elbow performance score (MEPS), the quick disabilities of the arm, shoulder and hand (Quick-DASH) score, and serial plain radiographs. Complications were also evaluated. Results: At the final follow-up, the mean VAS score, MEPS, and Quick-DASH score were 0.6±1.1, 88.7±11.5, and 19.4±7.8, respectively. The mean range of motion was 132.7° of flexion, 4.7° of extension, 76.2° of pronation, and 77.5° of supination. Periprosthetic lucency was observed in six patients (25%). Heterotopic ossification was observed in four patients (16.7%). Arthritic change of the elbow joint developed in seven patients (29.2%). Capitellar wear was found in five patients (20.8%). Arthritic change of the elbow joint was significantly correlated with MEPS (P=0.047). Four cases of complications (16.6%) were observed, including two cases of major complications (one stiffness with heterotopic ossification and progressive ulnar neuropathy and one stiffness) and two cases of minor complications (two transient ulnar neuropathy). Conclusions: RHR for the treatment of complex radial head fractures yielded satisfactory short- to mid-term clinical outcomes, though radiographic complications were relatively high.

  • A Go-go-kwan is a particular hat which has worn by married woman in Mongol and Yuan dynasty in China. It is also widely called as a Boktak in Mongol. The Go-go-kwan, recorded in jip-sa and in the miniature painting of 14th century is the early type of go-go-kwan. Later type can be seen from the relic collections of Gyeonggi Provincial Museum in Korea. The Go-go-kwan is composed with three parts ; feather part, tube part and hat part. Among the feathers, the largest one is as long as four times of the length of the tube and the shortest one is half the length of the tube. The tube is made of light weight wood such as white birch or bamboo, and covered with silk. Some of the hats were made exactly to fit on the head whereas others were designed to wear on the head as like jobawi.

Conventional Female Donor Costume of Cave 79 of Kumtura

  • Cave 79 of Kumtura grottoes, is the best preserved cave, which has an important meaning for research on Uighur costume. This paper is intended to analyze the costume characteristics of female donors in Cave 79 by comparing image materials between Dunhuang murals and other murals in Xinjiang province. In Cave 79, female donor wears red robe with tight sleeve, whose collar is crescent-shaped decorated. Two different opinions are upheld for this decoration. One regards this as the turn-down collar, while the other believes this as decoration on V-neckline. Red robe is quite common in female donors of Xinjiang and Dunhuang murals and a female in fresco is wearing a crown in a triangle red headwear style, regarded as red silk and drooping at head. Female donors wear an extra coat, kame hair clasp, red jacket, light-colored high-waist skirt with a long-tail waistband, and tangerine Pibo (silk ribbon) with scattered small flowers. All these costume styles are commonly-used by Han females. The kame headwear is also the common ornament for Han females and the female's hairstyle is in cone shape on head by a white kame. Current costumes are similar but not completely same.
