The purposes of this study were to evaluate the reproducibility of posteroanterior(PA) cephalograms obtained by two methods, the Head Posture Aligner(HPA) method in natural head posture and the conventional method(operator-guided method), and to compare the vertical rotational differences of the head Posture between lateral and PA cephalograms according to the method. The sample was consisted of 30 adults. At first day, a PA cephalogram and a lateral cephalogram were obtained from each subject by two methods to investigate the difference of vertical rotational posture between lateral and PA cephalograms. Two weeks later, another PA cephalogram was obtained using each method to evaluate the reproducibility of head posture. Five height measurements and nine width measurements were used in the paired t-test to compare the reproducibility of the PA cephalometric measurements between two methods. The differences of vertical rotational posture between lateral and PA cephalograms were calculated from a computer program and compared according to the method used, and following results were obtained. 1. Height measurements obtained by operator-guided method showed significant differences according to the time interval and revealed low reproducibility. 2. Height measurements obtained by HPA method did not show significant differences according to the time interval and presented high reproducibility. 3. In the comparison of width measurement, two methods did not show distinct differences in reproducibility. 4. The difference of vertical rotational posture between lateral and PA cephalograms showed $0.8^{\circ}$ in the HPA method, more less than $2.5^{\circ}$ in the operator-guided method. The results of the present study suggest that the HPA may be helpful in the PA cephalometric radiography in terms of reproducibility.
A considerable change observed in X-ray diffraction during the muscle contraction was that the movement of myosin head and conformational change of contractile monecules were occurred in the muscle contraction. Time slice requires tension peak after the onset of stimulation and the height of tension peak depends on the number of twitch cycle. The intensity of I$_{11}$, I$_{10}$, 143${\AA}$ reflection is measured with 5ms time resolution and is recorded in isometric tension. The peak height of I$_{11}$ and 143${\AA}$ intensity is changed after the onset of a stimulation I$_{i}$, and the length of twitch is shortened by successive twitches in the case of stimulation TI$_{i}$. On the other hand, the peak height of I$_{11}$ and 215${\AA}$ intensity starts to decrease at the 1st twitch and remains constant at low peak hight without appreciable recovery during the contraction term. In the case of uccessive twitch stimulation, the myosin heads of muscle are once moved from their resting position and never returned to their initial position.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of older adult's head-turn gait on gait parameters by comparing with head oriented forward gait and to provide criteria for their risk of falling compared to young adult. Methods: The subjects were 19 young adults in their 20s and 18 older adults in their 60s or above residing in Daegu or Gyeongsangbuk-do. To evaluate their gait parameters, spatiotemporal gait parameters were measured using a gait analysis tool (Legsys, BioSensics, USA) under two conditions: 1) walking while keeping one's eyes forward and 2) walking while turning the head. The measurement for each test was performed after one practice session, and the mean value of three measurements was analyzed. The collected data were statistically processed using a two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) to compare any differences in gait parameters between the two groups under the two conditions. The statistical significance level was set at α=0.05. Results: According to the comparison of gait parameters in young adult and older adult between the head oriented forward gait and head-turn gait, statistically significant differences were observed in two parameters: stride length according to the height ratio and stride speed obtained by dividing the stride length according to the height ratio by time (p<0.05). Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that the head-turn gait causes greater differences in stride length and speed among older adult than in young adult and therefore can act as a cause of falling.
Putting score counts about 43 % of the golf score. The dominant idea of the putting motion to amateur golfers as well as to many professional golfers is a pendulum-like motion. If a golfer's putting stroke motion is a pendulum-like motion, the putting motion should be straight-back-and-through, the same backswing, downswing, and follow through length and period, and a swing with a fixed hinge joint. If the putting motions of the human are different from the pendulum motion, there could be confusion in understanding and teaching golf putting. The purpose of this study was to examine the center of rotation(COR) of the putter head to reveal whether professional golfers really putt like a pendulum. Thirteen male professional golfers were recruited for the study. Each golfers executed 10.94 m putts six times on an artificial grass mat. Putter head position data were collected through a 60 Hz three-dimensional motion analysis system and low pass filtered with cut-off frequency of 6 Hz. COR of the putter head was mathematically acquired. Each golfer's last five putting motions were considered. The results show that the COR of the putter head was neither fixed nor located inside of the golfer. The medio-lateral directional component of the COR of the putter head fluctuated in the range of 10 cm during downswing and follow through. The anterior-posterior directional component of the COR of the putter head was fixed from the beginning of the downswing through impact. Just after impact, however, it moved to the target up to 60 cm. The superior-inferior directional component of COR of the putter head moved in a superior direction with the beginning of the downswing and showed peak height just prior to impact. During the follow through, it moved back in an inferior direction. The height-normalized peak value of the COR of the putter head was $1.4{\pm}0.3$ height. Technically speaking, male professional golfers' 10.94 m putting motion is not a pendulum-like motion. The dominating idea of a pendulum-like motion in putting might come from the image of the flawless, smooth motion of a pendulum.
The purpose of this research was to provide basic information for enhancing sizing suitability in terms of the need for appropriate fit in head gear. The method for this research was to survey about sizing system of head gear, basic measure part, repair service. The subject of this study were 15 head gear companies. The results of this research were as follows : 1. In the sex target analysis according to company type, most of fashion brand companies were producing woman's head gear. In case of the company to produce man's head gear, sizes appeared variously. On the other hand, the sports brand companies were producing unisex head gear and safety helmet companies were producing man's one. 2. The number of size of head gear manufacturing companies were under 3 sizing system. This means that the sizing system of current head gear manufacturing company isn't various. 3. While the measuring part using currently in the company was head girth, one to be considered necessary for manufacturing of head gear except the head girth was head height.

The position of the automobile's head restraint is very important for the neck injury in rear end collision. This study is about influence of the head restraint height and distance on neck injury during rear end collision. The effects of the position have been evaluated experimentally. The neck injuries are calculated by the relative acceleration between the upper and lower neck. As a result, It is found that the head restraint should be close enough to the back of the head and high enough to the top of the head.

This paper presents an approach to optimally design the air-hearing surface (ABS) of the optical flying head for near-field recording technology (NFR) NFR is an optical recording technology using very small beam spot size by overcoming the limit of beam diffraction. One of the most important problems in NFR Is a head disk interface (HDI) issue over the recording band during the operation. A multi-criteria optimization problem is formulated to enhance the flying performances over the entire recording band during the steady state. The optimal solution of the slider, whose target flying height is 50 nm, is automatically obtained. The flying height during the steady state operation becomes closer to the target values than those for the Initial one. The pitch and roll angles are also kept within suitable ranges over the recording band. Especially. all of the all-hearing stiffness are drastically increased by the optimized geometry of the air hearing surface.
Gasket of vehicle engine maintains airtight between cylinder head and engine block under high temperature and pressure, and plays important role in heat conduction of engine. And the characterization of the nonlinear behavior of metal gasket fer various bead shapes is very important as basic research for estimation of gasket durability. But it is very difficult to analyze the behavior of gasket In real experiment. In this paper, to analysis effects of the bead shape on the nonlinear behavior of cylinder head gasket under uniform pressure, the virtual experiment using the nonlinear finite element method was performed. Results are analyzed with residual deformation and the sealing pressure. With the increase of the height and the width of bead, the residual deformation and the sealing pressure increase. And if the height is very high and the width is very narrow, the wrinkles are occurred in the gasket while working.
Objective: In this study, we present a simple closed head injury model as a two-stage experiment. The height of the weight drop enables gradation of head trauma severity. Methods: The head injury device consists of three parts and there are three adjustable parameters-weight (100-600 g). height of fall (5-100 cm) and elasticity of the springs. Thirty male Wistar rats underwent monitoring of intracranial pressure with and without induction of the head injury. Results: The weight drop from 45 to 100 cm led to immediate seizure activity and early death of the experimental animals. Severe head injury was induced from 40 cm weight drop. There was 50% mortality and all surviving rats had behavioral deterioration. Intracranial pressure was 9.3${\pm}$3.76 mmHg. Moderate head injury was induced from 35 cm, mortality decreased to 20-40%, only half of the animals showed behavioral pathology and intracranial pressure was 7.6${\pm}$3.54 mmHg. Weight drop from 30 cm caused mild head injury without mortality and neurological deterioration. Intracranial pressure was slightly higher compared to sham group- 5.5${\pm}$0.74 mmHg and 2.9${\pm}$0.81 mmHg respectively. Conclusion: This model is an eligible tool to create graded brain injury with stepwise intracranial pressure elevation.
The purpose of this study is to set measurement parts which are important to identify the size and shape of the head in order to produce tightly fitted hats, and to identify detailed sizes and the major factors of head shape classifications of Korean women. A total of 285 Korean women's in the age group of 18 to 35 years old. It were measured through the direct measurement method by selecting 67 measurement items. Materials were analyzed by SPSS Ver.10 and technology statistics and factor analysis were performed according to the agenda. An attempt was made to conduct factor analysis of the measured region of the head in women's. Here, this study drew the head and the facial parts horizontal size as Factor 1, the head and facial parts vertical size as Factor 2, the circumference and width item as Factor 3, the factor representing the form of head height as Factor 4, the factor expressing the proportion of the facial form as Factor 5 and the factor about the frontal and back head form on the plan of the middle as Factor 6. Through this study, we will be able to systemize head measurement materials that can differentiate Korean's head from other peoples' and can use the results in developing head shape models according to Korean's head shape by selecting major head parts needed to identify the sizes and shapes.
