비접촉식 센서를 사용한 형상 측정 연구 (A Study of Form Measurement using Noncontact Sensor)

  • Many researches on measurement technology has been made and developed by various methods. Considering the measurement environment with cutting fluid, coolant and the like, contact type measurement methods are mostly used. But contact measurement method has measuring force and so the sensing head becomes worn. By these reasons, we considered sensors not influenced by the former fluid and so can acquire accrate measured values using error compensation due to temperature and vibration. For this purpose, eddy current sensors and Extended kalman Filter Algorithm for processing measured data has been used. In this paper, we present new technology that can be used for measuring workpiece with previous bad environment using direct method and comparison measurement method. We used cylindrical workpieces which were produced by grinding machine for the target.

전자식 보행지원 시스템에 관한 연구 (A study on electronic moving aid system)

  • In this paper, we implemented the electornic moving aid system for safe walking of the blind. An obstacle detecting of each sector used ultrasound and a distance measurement used time of flight. The alarm is designed to have a sound and a tactile function that can be selected on an user's convenience. This system can detect and obstacle of upward, forward, downward and optimally warn to the blind with vibration, beep sound by appling warning algorithm on object detection. Experimental testing and performance evaluation have been successfully carried out with a prototype cane, and the experiment shows the capability of the function to detect unknown objects within an assigned distance, under knees, over head height, and crushed puddles.

  • The balance of high speed spindle system with high precision rotation like grinding machine is very important. Traditionally, we use trial and error method to balance the spindle. It takes much time. So we are developing the automatic balancing equipment being used in the grinding machine. The balancing head we develop is wireless. It will be used high-speed grinding machine. We use influence coefficient method to control the automatic balancer. Experiments are based on automatic and manual balancing. We perform test of the vibration filter. It helps to remove noise. The filter and experiments with automatic balancing controller show that automatic balancing control can be successfully achieved with the quick response and good stability characteristics.

  • In general, the function of intake structure, whether it be a open channel, a fully wetted tunnel, a sump or a tank, is to supply an evenly distributed flow to a pump station. An even distribution of flow, characterized by strong local flow, can result in formation of surface or submerged vortices, and with certain low values of submergence, may introduce air into pump, causing a reduction of capacity and efficiency, an increase in vibration and additional noise. Uneven flow distribution can also increase or decrease the power consumption with a change in total developed head. To avoid these sump problems pump station designers are considered intake structure dimensions, such as approaching upstream, baffle size, sump width, width of pump cell and so on. From this background, flow characteristics of intake within sump are Investigated numerically to obtain the optimal sump design data. The sump model is designed in accordance with HI code.

평탄부 선로에서 철도소음의 전파예측에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Predition of Train Noise Propagation from a Level Railroad)

  • In order to predict the train noise propagation from a level railroad, this paper presents the model of train noise source and the prediction model based on the results by using the sound intensity method. The prediction model gives the effects of geometric attenuation, ground attenuation, and barrier attenuation of noise. There are several principal assumption in developing model: (a) the train noise is primarily rolling noise; (b) the rail head and wheels are in good condition; (c) the height of source is 10cm above track; (d) the directivity pattern of train noise sources is a dipole source. Calculated results based on this model are compared with available field data and good agreement has been obtained.

  • Cushion sleeves are used in pneumatic cylinders to avoid impact force arising at the end stroke part between moving piston and cylinder cover. In this study low kinds of cushion sleeves are designed, manufactured and attached to the pneumatic cylinder to be experimented. The effects of cushion sleeves on cushion characteristics are investigated. e results are as follows; the pressure variation of cushion room with orifices are inspected to be smaller than that of cushion room without orifices. So sleeves with orifices are expected as protecting from impact and vibration of pneumatic cylinder. The object of this study is to provide data on the charactristics of pneumatic cushion sleeve in case of being used in industry.

  • Recently, almost all hard disk drives employ the rotary actuator system. The performance of an HDD depends on the accuracy and speed of tracking motion. We study the dynamics of head-suspension assembly during track seek. We develop the numerical analysis program to study the dynamic characteristics of HDD suspension system considering the air bearing effects. The track seek simulation by using the developed program helps to estimate the effect of the suspension vibration on the air bearing dynamics. We calculate the behaviour of the air bearing for the given track seek profile and calculate the positioning error during track seek process due to the lateral deflection of the suspension.

  • Diagnosis of a patient with dysphonia begins with a thorough history and physical examination. Larynx can be visualized either indirectly or directly with a rigid or flexible laryngoscope. One notable limitation of simple indirect laryngoscopy is that the examination dose not yields a recordable and reproducible image of the larynx and vocal tract. And unaided human eye is unable to visualize the vibratory patterns of the true vocal cord during phonantion. When available, stroboscopy provides useful information regarding vocal told closure, vibration, and mucosal wave which is useful to decide between microsurgery, vocal reeducation or a combined treatment Even there are some limitations, recognition of the advantages and disadvantages of stroboscopy allows for optimal appreciation and stroboscopy remains an essential diagnostic tool in the assessment of dysphonia.

끝틈새가 터보펌프 인듀서의 성능에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Tip Clearance on the Performance of a Turbopump Inducer)

  • Experiments were performed to see the effect of radial tip clearance on a turbopump inducer, which has two blades with inlet tip blade angle of 7.8 degree and tip solidity of 2.7. Hydraulic and cavitation tests were done for three cases of tip clearance ratio, that is, 0.026, 0.053, and 0.079. With increase in the tip clearance, inducer head and pressure on the inducer tip decreased. Attached cavitation and cavitation surge were found in the cavitation tests. In the attached cavitation one cell rotated at the same rotational speed as that of the inducer. Cavitation performance deteriorated with increase in the tip clearance. The level of casing vibration increased in the cavitation condition and the level was very high when the attached cavitation appeared.

  • The development of the European railway high speed network brings new problems related to the interoperability across the railways of different countries. The pantograph and the overhead wire form a dynamic coupled system and they affect each other through the contact force. Unfortunately, as the operational speed of a train increases, the vibration of the pantograph and the overhead wire also increases. This may lead to a zero contact force between the pantograph head and the overhead wire, which can results in the loss of contact, arching and abrasion. If the arching and spark happen between the pantograph and the overhead catenary system, the EMI(electro magnetic interface) and noises may occur. After an, the quality of current collection is deteriorated. This paper describes the dynamic response between the pantograph and catenary system by the numerical simulations and predicts the possibility of operating the high speed train in the conventional lines.
