Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the physical growth and developmental status of infants and children of married immigrant women. Methods: The participants were 92 infants and children aged from birth to 6 yr whose mothers were married immigrant women living in one rural area. Physical growth and developmental status were evaluated by using anthropometric assessment, and Korean Denver II developmental screening test. Results: Of the participants, 10.8% were below the 3rd percentile for weight, 13.0% for length, 5.4% for head circumference, and from 69.6% to 79.3% were distributed below the 50th percentile on growth charts. Further, 18.5% were classified as having questionable development. Factors related to low physical growth in infants and children were mother's weight and mother's level in Korean language classes. Conclusion: The physical growth and developmental status of children is vulnerable and serious. The study results suggest a need for regular growth and developmental evaluations. Political support is important for these mothers. In addition, there also is a need to develop early intervention strategies to promote growth and development of the infants and children of these married immigrant women.

This study explores the effects of various factors on the use of nutrition information on food away from home (FAFH). Consumer groups were classified into groups according to their perception of being overweight and obese (correctly perceiving, underestimating and overestimating weight). For this, frequency analysis, a chi-square test, and an ANOVA were conducted to determine any differences between factors, and a logit analysis (SPSS 18.0) was conducted to identify those factors influencing the use of information. Information recognition, intentions to use information and the use on FAFH showed significant differences across the groups. In addition, health inspection, the perception of the intrinsic quality of restaurants, labeling, FAFH expenditure, and some individual characteristics showed significant differences between groups. The information recognition of FAFH had a significant positive effect on information use in all groups. In all groups, labeling had a significant positive effect on information use, and family health concerns had a significant positive effect on information use in the group correctly perceiving weight. The price of domestic food items, household head and household income had significant positive effects on information use in the group overestimating weight.

Our study is to make the commencement of an enterprise to reducing the faiure and to be successful for main point to successful commencement of an enterprise, the established can self capability and mental condition, the main important factor is types of industry selection, successful and those established who takes this conditions will very carefully inspect various matters by scientifically and rationally mind industrys propulsion graphs and open official fixture graphs will framing detail factors. One by inspect the reduction of failure, and successful commencement of an enterproses mind industry have been studied.

Survey questionnaires were conducted on housewives under 60 who had bought an apartment in Daegu. The data used in this study is collected Dalseo-Gu, Soosung-Gu and Buk-Gu by means of cluster sampling and from those chosen samples I use convenience sampling. The data were analyzed by SPSS WIN 10.0 program. The purpose of this study is to examine housing characteristics and apartment choice as a social class closely in order to improve value of apartment and to provide housing plan of apartment supply which is distinguished by a social class and moreover, to achieve efficient marketing strategy according to a recent recognition that housing is a kind of commodities. Objective and subjective measure of value are used to classify a social class. Objective measure of value includes scale apartment, a form of possession, a price of apartment, an occupation of husband, family income and academic background and subjective measure of value includes the standard of living out of people's own head. These measure of value are classified by giving consequence to each item with reference to ISC (index of status characteristics) of Wanner. There is a difference of housing characteristics and apartment choice as a social class as a consequence of this study. Therefore, this study suggests repeatedly that it should need not standardized housing supply but apartment supply of diverse demand desire because there is a difference of housing characteristics and apartment choice as a social class.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the perception of nursing students' on-site clinical experience at intensive care unit(ICU), which will help on developing fundamental tool to enhance the effect of their clinical practice. Method: Van Manens hermeneutic-phenomenological method has been used to analyze the data. Participants consisted of 74 third-year nursing students who performed the clinical practice at an ICU in C university hospital. The students got the group interviews and kept the clinical diaries. Data was collected from series of group interviews and contents of the students clinical diaries. Result: Major concerns related to students clinical practice were found as follows : "being nervous about unfamiliar machines and situations", "being frustrated about the patients", "feeling of helplessness", "being stupefied from witnessing a death", "realizing the importance of health", "realizing individual patient's precious value through family's love", "realizing the importance of treating a patient as humanbein g", "realizing the differences between theory and practice", "modelizing two aspects of nursing: professional and personal", "readiness to become a capable nurse". Conclusion: We are able to obtain in-depth understandings about the nursing students lived experience of clinical practice at the ICU. Based upon this, there is a need to develop a better nursing intervention enhance the effectiveness of the nursing students clinical practice.

The aim of this study was to isolate and characterize a lytic Yersinia enterocolitica-specific phage (KFS-YE) as a biocontrol agent. KFS-YE was isolated and purified with the final concentration of ($11.72{\pm}0.03$) log PFU/ml from poultry. As observed by transmission electron microscopy, KFS-YE consisted of an icosahedral head and a contractile tail, and was classified in the Myoviridae family. KFS-YE showed excellent narrow specificity against Y. enterocolitica only. Its lytic activity was stable at wide ranges of pH (4-11) and temperature ($4-50^{\circ}C$). The latent period and burst size of KFS-YE were determined to be 45 min and 38 PFU/cell, respectively. KFS-YE showed relatively robust storage stability at -20, 4, and $22^{\circ}C$ for 40 weeks. KFS-YE demonstrated a bactericidal effect in vitro against Y. enterocolitica and provided excellent efficiency with a multiplicity of infection as low as 0.01. This study demonstrated the excellent specificity, stability, and efficacy of KFS-YE as a novel biocontrol agent. KFS-YE may be employed as a practical and promising biocontrol agent against Y. enterocolitica in food.

Two unrecorded species of the snapper, Lutjanus malabaricus (296.0 mm standard length [SL]) and L. stellatus (350.0 mm SL) belonging to the family Lutjanidae, were first collected from the western coastal waters of Jeju Island, Korea. L. malabaricus is characterized by having a dark marking on the upper half of the caudal peduncle, a band of vomerine teeth that does not protrude posteriorly at the middle, and nine anal soft rays. Compared to its Korean relative, L. malabaricus is distinguishable by having rows of scales that run obliquely in the dorsal-posterior direction above the lateral line (vs. parallel to the lateral line in L. argentimaculatus). L. stellatus can be identified by the absence of wavy blue lines on the head (vs. many blue lines in L. rivulatus) and presence of a white spot above the lateral line (vs. a black blotch on the lateral line in L. rivulatus). We propose new Korean names, "Jin-hong-tung-dom" and "Huin-jeom-tung-dom," for L. malabaricus and L. stellatus, respectively.

A new marine tardigrade species of the genus Orzeliscus belonging to the family Halechiniscidae is described from the sea coasts of Korea and Japan. This new species is most characterized in having slender, pole-shaped clava with uniform breadth along its whole length. Furthermore, it evidently differs from the congeners by the combination of characters of a hemispherical protrusion on cheek region of the head, a big and bulbous lateral projection between leg III and leg IV, and an elongate papillus terminating with a minute tube on leg IV. 'Orzeliscus cf. belopus' sensu McKirdy, Schmidt and McGinty-Bayly, 1976 from the Galapagos Islands quite resembles this new species in sharing the slender, pole-shaped clava. However, these two Pacific populations are distinguished to each other by body size and shapes of the protrusion on cheek region and the lateral projection between leg III and leg IV. Scanning electron microscope photographs and a key to species of the genus Orzeliscus are also provided herein.

Two specimens of Opistognathus iyonis of Family Opistognathidae were collected for the first time at Chwasari Islands, Yokchi-myon, Tongyong-shi, Kyongsangnam-do, Korea. Specimens were catched by fishing on June and Oct. 1998. Opistognathus iyonis was characterized by having large mouth, big eye located anterior part of the head, large black spot on the dorsal fin and lateral line running close below base of dorsal fin. A new Korean name "Huk-Jom-Hu-Ak-Chi" is proposed for this species.

A single specimen of Synodus fuscus belonging to the genus Synodus in family Synodontidae was firstly collected from the coastal waters of Jeju Island, Korea. We newly add this species to the Korean fish fauna and propose its new Korean name, "Mo-rae-kkot-dong-myeol". This species was characterized by having no conspicuous pigmented area on operculum. The dorsal fin base is shorter than 1/2 of the head length. The morphological measurements and counts of Synodus fuscus were described in detail and a key to species of the genus Synodus from Korea provided in this study.
