The distrust about chemical plant safety have been increased by occurring the major industrial accidents. Chemical plants have become more and more enlarged and sophisticated to increase production amount and decrease cost. So hazard of industrial accidents also have been increased. In this situation, quantitative risk assessment is activated by introducing OCA(Off-site Consequence Analysis). So it is possible to analyze the objective hazard of chemical plant. Currently OCA focus on the end point of hazardous area by fire/explosion/dispersion. But in this case, it is possible to analyze the industrial accident effect to near the chemical plant but hard to consider the actual hazard by frequency and population density. This study analyzes the validity about application of F-N curve to OCA by compare end point with F-N curve about accident.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to propose an analytical methodology for selecting the priority of preventive projects in the course of carrying out disaster prevention projects that improve disaster-hazardous areas. Method: Data analysis was performed using RFM model which can divide data grade and perform target marketing based on Recency, Frequency, and Monetary. Result: The top 10% of the area with high RFM value was mainly in the East Sea and the South Sea coast, and the number of damage in private facilities was high. Conclusion: In this study, we used the RFM model to select the priority of disaster risk and to implement the regional disaster risk using GIS. These results are expected to be used as basic data for selecting priority project sites for disaster prevention projects and as basic data in the decision-making process for disaster prevention projects.
Recently, many ships such as VLCCs, dangerous cargo ships, high speed ferry boats are visiting Yeosu, Gwangyang harbor. The traffic volume of the year 2003 has increased as many as 2.5 times of 1988. However there is no suitable ships' routeing system which takes account of today's traffic situations in this area This study aims at the settling of hazardous factors to mitigate the danger to vessels in Yeosu${\cdot}$Gwangyang bay and to secure the safety of maritime environment.
The purpose of this study was to improve the sanitary management of school foodservice. A survey questionnaire was administered to 153 dietitians from elementary, middle and high schools in the Daejeon area. The questions were categorized into four fields: 'General characteristics', 'Facility and equipment set up at the schools studied', 'Performance of CCP(criticai control point)s' and 'Reasons of barriers to HACCP(hazard analysis of critical control points) implementation'. The results were as follows. Most of the subjects were the dietitians of elementary school(56.9%), were university graduates(51.0%) and were in their thirties(58.2%). The average length of their career had been 5.8 years. The average ratio of students per dietitian was 1,163. The average ratio of students per full-time employee was 124. The ratio of self-operated management was 90.2 %. The CCP7(assembling and serving) received the highest performance score, while the performance score of CCP2(management of potentially hazardous foods) was the lowest. Eighty-four percent of the surveyed school foodservices did not have pre-preparation rooms. The school foodservice operations were not well equipped with hot/cold holding equipments. Self-operated management scored higher on almost all sections(CCP1-CCP7). Contracted management scored highest on CCP8. The higher the age and career of the subject were, the higher were all the CCP performance scores. The reasons of barriers to HACCP implementation were lack of understanding of standards CCP1 and CCP2, workers' lack of cooking knowledge, and lack of information about school foodservice.

This study was conducted to identify the current status of occupational safety and health by checklist and to evaluate the airborne exposure to chemicals and to provide the appropriate recommendation for safety and health of laundries. A total of 20 laundries located in tile Gyungi district area were surveyed from July 20 to September 15, 2000. The prevalence of laundries having a stove and gas range were found to be 25 % and 55 %, respectively. Smoking is not allowed in 60 % of the laundries. Only 10 % of dry-cleaners were isolated. Ventilation systems in laundries had not been annually inspected. Most of the workers didn't put on respirators, MSDS were not available, and storage bottles did not contain warning labels. The bulk samples of dry cleaning agent include many chemicals that are not controlled by the MOL in Korea. The detected airborne organic solvents in the laundries were benzene, toluene, p-xylene, m-xylene, o-xylene, perchloroethylene, and 2-butoxy ethanol. The airborne concentrations of organic solvents were much less than the occupational exposure limits proposed by the Ministry of Labor(MOL) in Korea. But the concentrations of benzene exceeded the TLV of ACGIH. This study showed that the current status of occupational safety and health was not appropriate for workers in laundries. It is recommended that laundry workers should be educated for the treatment and storage of hazardous organic solvents to improve the occupational safety and health of the working environment as well as MSDS usage. Also, extended research and survey for the organic solvents that are not controlled by the MOL has to be conducted.
There is a lot of loss of life due to natural disasters. In particular, flood damage caused by heavy rainfall in urban areas causes serious damage. Therefore, in this study, we conducted a study on the optimal evacuation route for safe evacuation of urban areas. We set up a methodology by reviewing Flo-2D model and A* algorithm. A Flo-2D model was used to derive the hazardous area, and we selected the starting points with many people and suggested ways to select safe evacuation sites. And the route was derived from the starting point to the safe evacuation point by using the A * algorithm. This study could be used not only for evacuation route but also for road maintenance and evacuation facilities.

The reproductive disorders are the major causes of reproductive infertility in cows that affect the total annual calf crop, resulting in great economic loss in Bangladesh. The aim of the study was to find out the reproductive disorders (RD) in dairy cows that markedly influences the reproductive performances in aspect of Bangladesh. A total number of 1658 dairy cows were selected according to their body condition score (BCS) in different farms at the southern part of Bangladesh during the period of 2011 to 2012. The preliminary data (basic information) were collected directly from the dairy farmer's record books and asking questions according to a prescribed questionnaires as well as the diagnosis of RD was presumptively confirmed on the basis of history, clinical signs and examination of animals by ultrasonography and others necessary tools. There are thirteen major reproductive disorders were identified. Overall prevalence of reproductive disorders at that area were 23%, among of these anoestrus 5.1%, repeat breeder 3.7%, metritis 4.4%, poor heat detection 1.6%, ovarian cyst 0.36%, retain placenta 4.6%, dystocia 0.97% and pyometra 0.24%. It is indicated that anoestrus and retention of placenta after calving was most hazardous cause of infertility whereas the metritis and repeat breeder were the second line of consequence. RD had shown significantly higher incidence in low BCS (${\leq}2$) than that of fair (2.5) and very good (${\geq}3{\sim}3.5$). In conclusion, the highest RD especially anoestrus and retention of placenta is very alarming for reproductive loss which might be needed further research to identify the specific cause of these disorders for establishment a profitable dairying and dairy population.
There is growing interest in solar power generation due to global warming. As a result, demand for polysilicon, which is the core material for solar cells, is increasing day by day. As the market grows, large and small accidents occurred in the production process. In 2013, hydrochloric acid leaked from the polysilicon manufacturing plant in SangJu. In 2014, a fire occurred at a polysilicon manufacturing plant in Yeosu, and in 2015, STC(Silicon Tetrachloride) leaked at a polysilicon manufacturing plant in Gunsan City. Leakage of chemicals in the polysilicon manufacturing process can affect not only the workplace but also the surrounding area. Therefore, in this study, we identified the hazardous materials used in the polysilicon manufacturing process and quantitatively estimate the amount of leakage and extent of damage when the worst case scenario is applied. As a result, the damage distance by explosion was estimated to be 726 m, and the damage distance to toxicity was estimated to be 4,500 m. And, if TCS(Trichlorosilane), STC(Silicon Tetrachloride), DCS(Dichlorosilane) leaks into the air and reacts with water to generate HCl, the damage distance is predicted to 5.7 km.

In this parer, we design the artificial intelligent direction escape light control system to improve/complete the defects of the existing fire fighting system, and sketch an optimum escape guide algorithm for its implementation. It intends to minimize human casualties and injuries by calculating/predicting moving line of the optimum emergency escape, by means of interlocking the sensor and the reception group and analyzing the data of the combustion point and the smoke movement. The optimum escape algorithm is designed by FLOYD algorithm which calculates the shortest distance. It consists of the measuring method which calculates the shortest distance by using hazardous factors for each condition in danger which is judged by the sensor installed in each area.

This study was carried out to characterize the ambient levels of PAH concentrations in Pohang city, where steel industry has been intensively developed. A large amount of PAH emissions from steel production and related industries in Pohang are concerned about the environmental health hazards of nearby residents. TSP samples were seasonally collected during 10 days at four sites in Pohang from April to December 2010. Each sample was collected for 24 hours using high-volume air sampler. All samples were extracted by $soxtec^{TM}$ before concentration of 1.0 mL. The concentrates were analyzed by GC/MS. The prevailing wind direction was southwest and west-southwest in Pohang during the measurement period. Variations of TSP concentrations appeared to be similar between four sites. The highest TSP concentration was found in fall, while the lowest in summer. The highest PAH concentration was found at an industrial site, while the lowest at a residential/commercial site. In the case of BaP, the average concentration at the industrial site was $0.63{\pm}0.66ng/m^3$, which was approximately 2 times of the residential/commercial site. The paired t-test (p<0.05) showed significant differences between industrial and residential area. Particulate PAH concentrations were higher in the winter and lower in the summer. The concentrations of BaP in winter were 2~10 times higher than those in the other three seasons. This study clearly demonstrated the impact of steel industry on the elevated levels of PAH in Pohang city.
