  • IPSec authentication provides support for data integrity and authentication of IP packets. Authentication is based on the use of a message authentication code(MAC). Hash function algorithm is used to produce MAC , which is referred to HMAC. In this paper, we propose a cryptographic accelerator using FPGA implementations. The accelator consists of a hash function mechanism based on MD5 algorithm, and a public-key generator based on a Elliptiv Curve algorithm with small scale of circuits. The accelator provides a messsage authentification as well as a digital signature. Implementation results show the proposed cryptographic accelerator can be applied to IPSec authentications.

  • Recently as increasing the use of mobile communication devices the use of mobile readers for recognition tag attached to objects is also increasing. Accordingly, meantime, that gives rise to the vulnerability of RFID systems between reader and tag security issues, as well as security issues between the reader and the back-end server will occur. In this paper between the reader and the back-end server to security vulnerabilities efficient authentication protocol using the hash function is proposed.

  • An authentication protocol for wireless mobile communication systems is proposed. The protocol employs the keyed hash function to provide mutual authentication and session key distribution. This makes the low computation power of mobile stations. To provide the security architecture with minimal assumption about the security of intermediate transport networks, this protocol has no assumptions about the security of the intermediate, fixed networks.

  • In this paper, we present a digital authentication technique using content-based watermarking in digital images. To digest the image contents, Hopfield network is employed on the block-based edge image. The Hopfield function extracts the same tit fur similarly looking blocks so that the values are unlikely to change to the innocuous manipulations while being changed far malicious manipulations. By inputting the extracted bit sequence with secret key to the cryptographic hash function, we generate a watermark for each block by seeding a pseudo random number generator with a hash output Therefore, the proposed authentication technique can distinguish between malicious attacks and innocuous attacks. Watermark embedding is based on the block-based spread spectrum method in DCT domain and the strength of watermark is adjusted according to the local statistics of DCT coefficients in a zig-zag scan line in AC subband. The numerical experiments show that the proposed technique is very efficient in the performance of robust authentication.

  • In this paper, we achieved software and hardware implementation of SHA-1 hash function for sensor network. We implemented the software to be compatible with TinySec. In hardware design, we optimized operation logics for small area of hardware and minimized data transitions of register memory for low power design. Designed the software and hardware is verified on commercial sensor motes and our secure motes respectively.

  • In 2012, Sonwanshi et al. suggested an efficient smar card based remote user authentication scheme using hash function. In this paper, we point out that their scheme is vulnerable to offline password guessing attack, sever impersonation attack, insider attack, and replay attack and it has weakness for session key vulnerability and privacy problem. Furthermore, we propose an improved scheme which resolves security flaws and show that the scheme is more secure and efficient than others.

  • In this paper we suggest a group key agreement protocol among a group consisting more than 3 PKIs. From an 128 bit message, we produce a group key to any length size using a hash function. With a computer experiment we found that PKI's encryption/decryption time is the most dominant part of this procedure and an 160 bit ECC PKI is the most efficient system for distributing an 128 bit message in practical level. We implement this procedure over an unsecure multi user chatting system which is an open software. And we also show that this suggestion could be practically used in military business without a hardware implementation.

  • The ID/password method is the most classical method among authentication techniques on the internet, and is performed more easily and successfully than other methods. However, it is a vulnerable method against attacks such as eavesdropping or replay attack. To overcome this problem, OTP technique is used. The most popular OTP is HOTP algorithm, which is based on one-way hash function SHA-1. As recent researches show the weakness of the hash function, we need a new algorithm to replace HOTP. In this paper we propose a new OTP algorithm using the MAC(Message Authentication Code) based on AES. We also show that the new OTP outperforms HOTP experimentally.
