A Simplified Graphics System Based on Direct Rendering Manager System

  • In the field of computer graphics, rendering speed is one of the most important factors. Contemporary rendering is performed using 3D graphics systems with windowing system support. Since typical graphics systems, including OpenGL and the DirectX library, focus on the variety of graphics rendering features, the rendering process itself consists of many complicated operations. In contrast, early computer systems used direct manipulation of computer graphics hardware, and achieved simple and efficient graphics handling operations. We suggest an alternative method of accelerated 2D and 3D graphics output, based on directly accessing modern GPU hardware using the direct rendering manager (DRM) system. On the basis of this DRM support, we exchange the graphics instructions and graphics data directly, and achieve better performance than full 3D graphics systems. We present a prototype system for providing a set of simple 2D and 3D graphics primitives. Experimental results and their screen shots are included.

무선 가속도 센서노드를 이용한 강 거더 볼트연결 부재의 진동기반 손상 모니터링 체계 (Vibration-based Damage Monitoring Scheme of Steel Girder Bolt-Connection Member by using Wireless Acceleration Sensor Node)

  • 본 연구에서는 무선 가속도 센서노드를 이용한 강 거더 볼트연결 부재의 진동기반 손상 모니터링 체계를 제안하였다. 이 같은 연구목표를 위해, 다음과 같은 연구를 수행하였다. 먼저, 무선 가속도 센서노드의 하드웨어 구성 및 내장된 작동 소프트웨어를 제시하였다. 다음으로, 강 거더 볼트연결 부재의 진동기반 손상 모니터링 체계를 제시하였다. 손상 모니터링 체계는 가속도 응답특성 분석을 통해 전역적 손상발생 경보 및 손상위치 추정을 수행한다. 전역적 손상발생 경보는 파워스펙트럼밀도의 상관계수를 적용하였다. 손상위치 추정은 고유 진동수기반 손상검색 기법과 모드형상기반 손상검색 기법을 적용하였다. 마지막으로, 모형 강 거더의 볼트연결 부재 손상을 식별하기 위한 진동기반 손상 모니터링 체계의 적용성을 검증하였다.

Micro-processor를 이용한 엘리베이터 제어에 관한 연구 (A study on elevator control using micro-processor)

  • Elevator system requires position and speed control at the same time recently. The control device of existing Elevator system making hardware is simplified by using micro-processor that have been developed. In this papers, it consists of contactless logic circuit using miro-processor and digital components. This paper shows that as this system control voltage and frequency using PWM inverter at the same time, speed control is accurate, acceleration and deceleration is soft and passengers can be feel comfortably because speed change is a little during driving.

GPU를 이용한 특징 기반 영상모핑의 가속화 (Acceleration of Feature-Based Image Morphing Using GPU)

  • 본 논문에서는 특징 기반 영상모핑(feature-based image morphing)을 위한 GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) 기반의 가속화 기법을 제시한다. 제안된 기법은 모핑과정에서 픽셀과 제어선 사이의 최단거리를 효율적으로 계산하기 위해 그래픽스 하드웨어의 깊이 버퍼(depth-buffer)를 이용한다. 먼저 원본영상(source image)과 최종영상(destination image)에 사용자입력을 통해 특징을 표현하는 제어선들을 지정하고, 각 제어선의 거리함수(distance function)를 서로 다른 색상을 갖는 두개의 사각형과 원뿔로 렌더링한다. 그래픽스 파이프라인(graphics pipeline)을 통해 각 픽셀에서 가장 가까운 제어선까지의 거리는 깊이 버퍼에 저장되고, 이는 모핑연산을 효율적으로 수행하는데 사용된다. 본 논문에서는 픽셀 단위의 모핑 연산을 CUDA(Compute Unified Device Architecture)를 이용하여 병렬화함으로써 모핑의 속도를 더욱 향상시키며, 다양한 크기의 입력영상에 대하여 각각 CPU와 GPU를 이용한 영상모핑 실험을 통해 제안된 기법의 효율성을 입증한다.

  • Our country compares with advanced nations by supply of super high speed network and information communication infra construction has gone well very. Many people by extension of on-line transaction and various internet services can exchange, or get information easily in this environment. But, virus or poisonous information used to Cyber terror such as hacking was included within such a lot of information and such poisonous information are threatening national security as well as individual's private life. There were always security and speed among a lot of items to consider networks equipment from these circumstance to now when develop and install in trade-off relation. In this paper, we present a high speed VPN Acceleration Board(VPN-AB) that balances both speed and security requirements of high speed network environment. Our VPN-AB supports two VPN protocols, IPsec and SSL. The protocols have a many cryptographic algorithms, DES, 3DES, AES, MD5, and SHA-1, etc.. The acceleration board process data packets into the system with In-line mode. So it is possible that VPN-AB processes inbound and outbound packets by 10Gbps. We use Nitrox-II CN2560 security processor VPN-AB is designed using that supports many hardware security modules and two SPI-4.2 interfaces to design VPN-AB.

Cooperative Manipulation of a Virtual Object by Multiple Remote Users

  • In this paper, we explore the issues of force display in the cooperative virtual environment shared by multiple users distributed over the network with heterogeneous hardware platforms. The proposed method is to cope with the problem of small time delay and the difference of sampling rate in the distributed configuration. In the proposed approach the interaction forces of the participants are just treated as the independent sources of acceleration. Thus the action of a participant simply changes the acceleration of the virtual object and consequently the states of the virtual object will be updated. When the updated states are reported to all the participants, the information on the time of state changes is delivered, too. Employing the discrete state information updated by the other users, each user modifies his own virtual environment and pseudo-realtime simulation can be realized. Excluding the software interface and the communication technique, it is proposed the simulation method for the operation of respective users and the way of calculating the driving input to the display device. For experimental verification we construct a cooperative virtual environment shared by two remote users and outline the results of experiments.

  • Electro-hydraulic shift control of a vehicle automatic transmission has been predominantly carried out via an open-loop control based on numerous time-consuming calibrations. Despite remarkable success in practice, the variations of system characteristics inevitably deteriorate the performance of the tuned open-loop controller. As a result, the controller parameters need to be continuously updated in order to maintain satisfactory shift quality. This paper presents a self-learning algorithm for automatic transmission shift control in a construction vehicle during inertia phase. First, an observer reconstructs the turbine acceleration signal (impossible to measure in a construction vehicle) from the readily accessible turbine speed measurement. Then, a control algorithm based on a quadratic function of the turbine acceleration is shown to guarantee the asymptotic convergence (within a specified target bound) of the error between the actual and the desired turbine accelerations. A Lyapunov argument plays a crucial role in deriving adaptive laws for control parameters. The simulation and hardware-in-the-loop simulation (HILS) studies show that the proposed algorithm actually delivers the promise of satisfactory performance despite the system characteristics variations and uncertainties.

Shock Response Prediction of a Low Altitude Earth Observation Satellite During Launch Vehicle Separation

  • Several pyrotechnic devices are employed over the course of satellite's missions, generally for the separation of structural subsystems and deployment of appendages. Firing of pyrotechnic devices results in impulsive loads characterized by high peak acceleration and high frequency content which can cause failures of various flight hardware elements and small components. Thus, accurate prediction of acceleration level in various components of spacecraft due to pyrotechnic devices is important. In this paper, two methods for pyroshock prediction, an empirical model and statistical energy analysis in conjunction with virtual mode synthesis, are applied to predict shock response of a low altitude earth observation satellite during launch vehicle separation. The predicted results are then evaluated through comparison with the shock test results.

  • 현대 사회에는 의학기술의 발전과 생활수준 향상 등으로 고령자들이 증가하고 있다. 고령자들의 낙상은 심한 경우 사망에 까지 이를 수 있는 상당히 큰 위협이 된다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 낙상을 감지하는 여러 가지 알고리즘과 하드웨어 시스템의 필요성이 증가 하고 있으며 국내외에서 낙상 감지 시스템의 연구 결과가 발표 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 3축 가속도 센서를 이용한 낙상 감지 시스템을 소개한다. 낙상 감지 시스템은 3축 가속도 센서 데이터로부터 몇 가지의 파라미터를 계산하여 낙상을 판별한다. 제안된 시스템을 이용하여 최대 98.3%의 sensitivity와 94.7%의 specificity 결과 값을 얻었다.

부유시스템을 이용한 유도탄 조종루프 진동저감 성능확인 시험기법 (A Test Technique for Performance Evaluation of a Filter and Control Loop on the Missile Vibration using Floating System)

  • The acceleration and the angular velocity that include natural frequencies of a missile detected by Inertial Measurement Unit(IMU) are transmitted to the control loop of a missile. The control loop command that is calculated using above signals can cause the resonance of the missile while it flies. Hence it is common to adapt the filter and the control loop for attenuating or eliminating the undesired signals such as natural frequencies. This paper introduces the new test technique using a floating system for performance evaluation of the designed filter and the control loop prior to a flight test. The proposed scheme can check out the degradation property of vibration in the filter and the control loop, while the conventional hardware-in-the-loop simulation(HILS) scheme cannot.
