Polyurethane 탄성체(彈性體)의 합성(合成)과 물성(物性)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Synthesis and Physical Properties of Polyurethane Elastomer)

  • The purpose of this study is to estabilish the synthetic condition of polyurhethane elastomer for excellent properties. Polyurethane elastomer which have different NCO percentage and hard segment contents was synthesized by casting method. And the effects of hard segment contents were investigated by analytical methods such as IR, DSC, etc. [NCO]/[OH] ratio was proper at the range $1.02{\sim}1.05$. By IR absorption peak($1250cm^{-1}$) which indicate interurethane hydrogen bond it was confirmed that hard segment were crystallized. Melting point that was determined by DSC showed the effects of hard segment contents, phase mixing and crystalline size.

  • Polyurethane elastomers are segmented cocoplymer with an [HS]n-type structure. Typically, these materials are two-phase systems, prepared from relatively polar and stiff component called the hard segment(H) and relatively flexible component known as the soft segment(S). Diisocyanate and chain extender together form the hard segment, which is dispersed within a matrix of the soft segment, composed of the macrodiolos.(omitted)

  • Polyurethane(PU)은 물리적 화학적 성질이 매우 다른 두 segment(hard/soft)로 이루어진 block copolymer로서 상온에서 미세상분리된 구조를 가진다. 이런 미세 상분리 구조는 PU의 물리적 성질을 결정하는 가장 중요한 요소이며, hard segment(H/S)의 화학적 구조에 따른 PU사슬의 강직성은 H/S의 packing및 상분리도에 큰 영향을 미친다. 본 연구에서는 H/S의 화학적 구조를 변화시켜 사슬의 강직성이 서로 다른 다양한 PU을 합성하였으며 Synchrotron SAXS와 FTIR-dichioism을 이용하여 PU 사슬의 강직성에 따른 거시적인 domain의 변형거동과 미시적인 사슬의 변형거동을 관찰 하였다. Control of Mechanical Properties of Polyurethane Elastomers Synthesized with Aliphatic Diisocyanate Bearing a Symmetric Structure

  • Polyurethane elastomers (PUEs) were synthesized using trans-1,4-bis(isocyanatomethyl) cyclohexane (1,4-H6XDI), poly(oxytetramethylene) glycol, 1,4-butanediol (BD), and 1,1,1-trimethylol propane (TMP). To control the molecular aggregation state and mechanical properties of these PUEs, hard segment contents of 20 and 30 wt% and BD/TMP ratios of 10/0 and 8/2 were chosen. Differential scanning calorimetry and small-angle X-ray scattering measurements revealed that the degree of microphase separation increased with an increase in both hard segment content and BD ratio. The Young's modulus and strain at break of the 1,4-H6XDI-based PUE were 6-20 MPa and 5-15, respectively. Incorporation of 20% TMP as a cross-linking agent into BD increased the melting temperature of the hard segment chains, that is, heat resistance, and decreased the Young's modulus. This could be due to the low density of the physical cross-linking network and the dispersion of hard segment chains in the soft segment matrix in the PUE in the presence of 20% TMP.

  • Most segmented polyurethanes are prepared from a two-step method where the polyol is end-capped with an excess of diisocyanate, followed by chain extension with stoichiometric amount of chain extender, In the final polymer the hard and soft segments tend to segregate, due to thermodynamic immiscibility and the differences in chemical structure between hard and soft segments, and produce a phase separated morphology of hard segment-rich and soft segment-rich phase.   • Weatherstrip coatings of urethane and silicon type which are fit to EPDM and thermoplastic materials are used in sealing systems for automotive applications for noise reduction and high slip characteristics for external applications, respectively. Polyurethane binder was successfully synthesized from poly(butyladiphate)diol (PBAD), poly(tetramethylene)glycol (PTMG) and isocyanate as starting materials. Then, polyurethane coating agents were prepared by using various additives. To investigate effects of segment types on the abrasion resistance of polyurethane coating agents, thin films based on polyurethane coating materials were fabricated. With increasing the amount of hard segment in the coating agent, abrasion resistance, modulus and tensile strength of the coating films were improved, but the elongation of the coating films was decreased.

  • Effects of catalysts on network structure, hard segment length and distribution of polyurethane foams in the absence of catalysts were investigated. CFC free all MDI-based poly urethane foams were prepared from poly(ethylene adipate)glycol, 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate, and water. Amino catalysts used were 1,4-diazabicyclo[2,2,2]octane(DABCO), N, N,N',N'-tetramethyl--hexane-1,6-diamine(MR), bis(2-methylamino ethyl)ether(ET), 1,8-diazabicyclo-[5,4,0]-undecene-7(DBU). Dibutyltindilaurate(DBTL) as control was also used. Hard segment components of polyurethane foams were obtained by a selective degradation of polyester chains with 0.01N KOH-methanol solution. The PUFs with DBU catalyst contained more amount of isocyanurate components than other PUFs. On the other hand, the PUFs with ET, MR, DBTL catalysts contained more amount of allophanate and biuret component than the other PUFs.

방향족 구조가 포함된 열가소성 탄성체 Poly(ether-b-amide)의 합성 및 특성 (Synthesis and Characterization of Thermoplastic Elastomer Poly(ether-b-amide) Containing Aromatic Moiety)

  • 방향족 구조를 포함하고 분자량이 조절된 polyamide(PA) 올리고머를 4-aminobenzoic acid와 12-aminododecanoic acid의 축합반응으로 합성하였다. 이 올리고머를 여러 분자량의 polytetramethylene glycol(PTMG)과 축합하여 PA를 hard segment로 하고 PTMG를 soft segment로 하는 열가소성 탄성체로서 poly(ether-b-amide)(PEBA)를 제조하였다. 합성된 PEBA의 구조는 FTIR과 $^1H$ NMR로 확인하였으며 DSC와 UTM을 사용하여 hard segment의 구조변화에 따른 열적특성과 기계적 성질의 변화를 비교해 본 결과 방향족 구조를 30%까지 포함할 때 결정성의 변화 없이 PEBA들의 용융온도는 높아졌고 초기 modulus와 strength는 더 크게 나타났다.

  • 열가소성 폴리우레탄(thermoplastic polyurethane: TPU)의 제조에 사용한 폴리올 종류와 경질부 함량에 따른 TPU의 결정화 거동을 고찰하였다. TPU의 제조에 사용한 폴리올은 분자량이 2000인 poly(tetamethylene ether glycol) (PTMEG), poly(propylene glycol)(PPG) diol, polycaprolactone(PCL) diol, poly(butylene adipate)(PBA) diol을 사용하였으며, 경질부 함량은 $35\~44\;wt\%$였다. TPU의 경질부 냉각 결정화는 경질부 함량이 많을수록 고온에서 관찰되었다. TPU의 등온 결정화 속도는 경질부 함량이 많을수록 빠르고, TPU 제조에 사용한 폴리올 종류별로는 $PTMEG>PPG>PCI{\geqq}PBA$ 경향이 나타나, 연질부와 경질부의 상용성이 낮을수록 용융상태에서 경질부의 수소결합이 용이하고 결정화 속도가 빠르며, 냉각 결정화가 고온에서 나타나는 것으로 해석하였다.
