The diffusion model, which considers diffusion and sorption, is proposed. The FEM program developed on the basis of the diffusion model provides the estimation of chloride concentration according to cyclic humidity and sorption. After the humidity diffusion analysis is carried out, the chloride ion diffusion and sorption analysis are conducted on the basis of the preestimated humidity data in each element. Each element has different analysis variables at different ages and locations. At early ages, the difference between inner and outer relative humidity causes the chloride ion penetration by sorption. As the humidity diffusion reduces the difference with age, the effect of sorption on the chloride ion penetration decreases. By the way, the cyclic humidity increases the effect of sorption on the chloride ion penetration at early ages, and the quantity of chloride ion around steel at later ages. Therefore, the in situ analysis of chloride ion penetration for marine concrete structures must be performed considering the cyclic humidity condition and the long term sorption.

The service life is defined as the period of the period of time, until repair becomes necessary to maintain the serviceability of structures. It is getting more common to specify the service life of a structure, particularly structures exposed to de-icing salt water. To accomplish this study, pier in the harbor was chosen as a experimental area. The service life of decks in marine environment was calculated as sum of three period ; initiation period, propagation period and cracking period. The object of this study is to indicate where and how measures can be adopted for checking relevant service lifes.

Landing pier is connect from onshore to offshore with bridge type that a coast structure. The sub-structure is consisted of vertical or batter pile and combined reinforced concrete slab. These days useful design method of quay wall of landing pier type for pile foundation analysis abide by approximate depth of pile supported method, "Harbor and port design criterion, 2005 The ministry of land transport and maritime affairs". The approximate depth of pile supported is calculated two kind of method that one is assume to below depth of 1/$\beta$ from assumed submarine surface and other is 1st fixpoint depth by Chang(1937)'s theory. By this paper, FEM dynamic analysis of 3-dimensions was achieved that it has compared pile fixed end modeling with elastic spring modeling base on winkler theory.

At mesoscale, concrete is considered as a three-phase composite material consisting of the aggregate particles, the cement matrix and the interfacial transition zone (ITZ). The reconstruction of the internal structures for concrete composites requires the identification of the boundary of the aggregate particles and the cement matrix using digital imaging technology followed by post-processing through MATLAB. A parameter study covers the subsection transformation, median filter, and open and close operation of the digital image sample to obtain the optimal parameter for performing the image processing technology. The subsection transformation is performed using a grey histogram of the digital image samples with a threshold value of [120, 210] followed by median filtering with a $16{\times}16$ square module based on the dimensions of the aggregate particles and their internal impurity. We then select a "disk" tectonic structure with a specific radius, which performs open and close operations on the images. The edges of the aggregate particles (similar to the original digital images) are obtained using the canny edge detection method. The finite element model at mesoscale can be established using the proposed image processing technology. The location of the crack determined through the numerical method is identical to the experimental result, and the load-displacement curve determined through the numerical method is in close agreement with the experimental results. Comparisons of the numerical and experimental results show that the proposed image processing technology is highly effective in reconstructing the internal structures of concrete composites.

A major source of durability problems in concrete structures is the corrosion of steel by the damage of passivity layer around steel bars. As chloride ion penetration is major cause of the destruction of passivity layer, evaluation of depth and concentration profile of chloride ion is the essential factor for the service-life estimation of concrete structure. To estimate chloride ion penetration characteristics, this paper on the basis of in-situ experimental data investigated the depth and concentration profile of chloride ion penetration. The core specimens are obtained at air-zone, splash zone, and tidal zone in Wando, Masan, Incheon, Gwangyang, and donghae harbors. Colorimentric method measured the chloride ion penetration depth and ASTM C 114 evaluated the concentration profile of chloride ion. Based on experimental data, the influence of harbor location and exposure condition on chloride ion penetration is evaluated.
The use of rock wool waste, an industrial by-product, in cement-based composites has positive effects on the environment because it reduces the problems associated rock wool disposal. The experiments in this study tested cement-based composites using various rock wool waste contents (10, 20, 30 and 40% by weight of cement) as a partial replacement for Portland cement in mortars. The pozzolanic strength activity test, flow test, compressive strength test, dry shrinkage test, absorption test, initial surface absorption test and scanning electron microscope observations were conducted to evaluate the properties of cement-based composites. Test results demonstrate that the pozzolanic strength activity index for rock wool waste specimens is 103% after 91 days. The inclusion of rock wool waste in cement-based composites decreases its dry shrinkage and initial surface absorption, and increases its compressive strength. These improved properties are the result of the dense structure achieved by the filling effect and pozzolanic reactions of the rock wool waste. The addition of 30% and 10% rock wool wastes to cement is the optimal amount based on the results of compressive strength and initial surface absorption for a w/cm of 0.35 and 0.55, respectively. Therefore, it is feasible to utilize rock wool waste as a partial replacement of cement in cement-based composites.
The Sydney Opera House is built on a peninsula of rock that juts out into Sydney Harbor. The site was once a landing place for ships. Utzon, Architect, designed the theatres for the Opera House to fit the shape. The two theatres were placed side by side so that they both had extensive harbor views. The Sydney Opera House is designed the foyers to take full advantage of these sights. Because the building would be seen from all sides, even from above, it was to be a piece of sculpture. The outside was as important as the inside. The audience enters from behind the stage and walks around to the foyers overlooking the harbour. The wing and backstage areas are small because of the way the foyers wrap around the theatre. The stage is made up of large platform lifts which provide the vertical movement for changing scenery. The sets come up from the workshops below stage. The flytower fits under the largest roof shell and doesn't break the skyline. The important elements are the podium, the shells and the reminders. The podium, the huge monolithic concrete structure, contains hundreds of rooms and nearly all the technical equipment. The podium is clad with pink granite slabs and seen from the water. This design eliminated a maze of fire escape stairs and, at the same time, gave people a wonderful view of the harbour. The egg shell is remarkably strong and express the form as the symbol of the site.

Recently, Wind-turbine electronic generator become popular. Wind-Turbine is free to cost for purchase and noise problem. For this reason, trend is shifting from Wind-turbine on land to offshore. Research and Development for offshore Wind-turbine has been conducted by various research institution. However, There is no solid design code for offshore Wind-turbine even in domestic as well as foreign. In this paper, conduct seismic analysis and compare results using design codes Korea Bridge Design Codes, Korea Harbor and Marina Design Codes, and DNV OS. Time-History analysis conducted for checking time dependent effect. The Added-Mass Method applied to consider water-structure effects and compared for w/ water and w/o water condition.

Together with the trend of enhancement in domestic industrial development and economic progress due to import and export, the demand for construction of the roads, bridges, especially port facilities, and several coastal protection and ocean structures is increasing rapidly. MOMAF of Korean Government is driving construction cf 9 new ports and renovation cf the existing fishery ports. Among these structures most of bridge base, wharves, dolphins, quays, and jetties are being newly built cf steel or concrete pile. As the base, supporting bulkheads, and piles are underwater after construction, it is difficult to figure out the status of structures and not enough to get maintenance and strengthen the structures. Every year, moreover, these works suck the government budget due to higher incomplete maintenance expense for protection from corrosions cf structures and increased underwater construction period. For the purpose cf cutting down the expense cf government budget, it is necessary to extend the life cycle of the existing structures. Therefore, we developed a new method for maintenance of submerged structures near the waterline by allowing dry work environment with the floating caisson. The method shows easy to move around the working area and handle. It also showed not only a significant reduction of maintenance expenses and time for anti-corrosion work but also better protection This will be a milestone to reduce the maintenance and construction expenses for the shore and water structures.
