Study on the Microstructure of the Hydroxyapatite Injected into the Hole of Teeth. (치아 내 수산화아파타이트(HAp) 삽입 후 미세구조에 관한 연구)

  • Hydroxyapatite powder was injected into thehole of teeth. The microstructure of teeth and HAp were observed after immersed in $9\%$ salin solution at $37^{\circ}C$ from 1month to 6 months. The junction morphology of hydroxyapatite and tooth was enhanced and particle size of hydroapatite was decreased with increasing time. The firm waxy body was found due to the hardening of hydroxyapatite fine powder resulting from the destruction of initial powder with swelling. It is suggested that the junction morphology of hydroxyapatite and tooth was observed due to the $Ca^{2+}$ ion shift of hydroxyapatite.

  • 본 고는 2005년 4월 20일부터 28일까지 튀니지 튀니스에서 개최된 ITU-R WP9B 회의에서 논의되었던 HAPS 관련 간섭 및 공유 연구현황과 관련 기술에 대해서 제출된 기고서 및 회의 결과를 중심으로 살펴보고자 한다. 본 회의에 제출된 기고서의 주된 내용은 HAPS에서 고정업무(FS)로의 간섭평가 방법에 대하여 제안된 것으로, 여기에서FS는 RRS와 FWA 시스템을 포함한다. 본 간섭 연구에 대한 제안 배경과 제안 사항의 개요에 대해서 기술하고 간섭분석 모델과 그것에 대한 시뮬레이션 결과를 제시한다. 결론에서 향후 본 분야에 대한 우리나라의 대응방안에 대해서 기술한다.

A Case Report of Allergic Purpura (알레르기성 자반증 환아 치험 2례)

  • Objectives The purpose of this study is to report the clinical effects of Korean herbal medicine and Chimsband treatment in patients with allergic purpura. Methods 4-year-old female patients, who were suffering from allergic purpura were treated by Korean herbal medicine (Samul-tang hap Yukmijihwang-tang gami) and Chimsband treatment. Also, photographs were used to check the improvement. Results After treating for 15 days, the patients' allergic purpura were improved by Korean herbal medicine and Chimsband treatment. Conclusions This study showed that Korean medical treatments could be an effective treatment option in treating allergic purpura.

Analysis of Content Validity and Case Studies of Responses to Scientific Questions on Qualification Examination for High School Graduation (고졸검정고시 과학 문항 타당도와 문항 반응 사례 분석)

  • This study was to evaluate the suitability of scientific questions as qualification examination for high school graduation by content validity and item response with three examinees and two preliminary examinees. As a result, scientific questions were concentrated on two units of six units of total, and application appeared to be lacking problem area by 8% compared to understanding and application. Examinees and preliminary examinees chose correct answers most by hap or guess, sometimes by experience or common sense, and the least by scientific concept. In addition, they could chose correct answers by hap or guess because there were words that implied the correct answer in questions and answers, or because they could compared and/or analyzed questions and answers. With these results, two proposals were suggested as follows; (1) scientific questions of qualification examination for high school graduation should measure basic scientific literacy. (2) specific criteria for science literacy in qualification examination for high school graduation should be set.

Feasibility of Phosphorus Recovery from Biological Livestock Wastewater Treatment Plant (생물학적 축산분뇨처리시설에서 인 회수의 가능성 평가)

  • A chemical sequencing batch reactor was operated to test the feasibility of nutrient recovery from a biological livestock wastewater treatment plant. Both phosphate and ammonia could be successfully recovered as magnesium ammonium phosphate (MAP) crystals. The contents of TP and TN in the recovered MAP crystals were 26.2% and 4.0%, respectively. Zn, Cr and Ti were identified in the crystals, but the contents remained below the Korean standard for an organic fertilizer. Chemical analyses confirmed that the MAP crystals could be useful phosphate fertilizers. On the other hand, the results of physical analyses using an X-ray diffractometer and an energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer strongly suggested that crystalline materials like magnesium potassium phosphate (KMP) and hydroxyapatite (HAP) were also formed during the MAP crystallization, depending on the availability of K+ and Ca2+.

  • Hydroxyapatite [Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2, HAp] and titanium(Ti) metal are known to be excellent materials with high affinities for natural bone through the apatite. Tricalcium phosphate [Ca3(PO4)2, TCP] is a promising alternative material because it is similar to HAp in its physical properties and biocompatibility. To examine the influence of hydroxyapatite, tricalcium phosphate, pure titanium and pre-treated titanium on osteopontin expression in osteoblasts, RNA was extracted from proliferated and cultured osteoblast cells and OPN mRNA expression was observed by RT-PCR.

  • HapAnalyzer is an analysis system that provides minimum analysis methods for the SNP-based association studies. It consists of Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (HWE) test, linkage disequilibrium (LD) computation, haplotype reconstruction, and SNP (or haplotype)-phenotype association assessment. It is well suited to a case-control association study for the unrelated population.

Haplotype Phylogeny of a 200kb Region in the Human Chromosome X Terminal Band (q28)

  • The haplotypes of a 200 kb region in the human chromosome X terminal band (q28) were analyzed using the International HapMap Project Phasell data, which had been collected for three analysis panels (YRI, CEU, and CHB+JPT). When multiple linkage disequilibrium blocks were encountered for a panel, the neighboring haplotypes that had crossover rate of 5% or more in the panel were combined to generate 'haploid' configurations. This resulted in 8, 7, and 5 'haploid' configurations for the panels of YRI, CEU, and CHB+JPT, respectively. The multiple sequence alignment of these 'haploids' was used for the calculation of allele-sharing distances and the subsequent principal coordinate analysis. Two 'haploids' in CEU and CHB+JPT were hypothesized as 'parental' in light of the observations that the successive recombinants of these haploids can model two other haploids in CEU and CHB+JPT, and that their configurations were consistent with those in YRI. This study demonstrates the utility of haplotype phylogeny in understanding population evolution.

  • WRC-97에서 고고도 통신 시스템(HAPS)을 위한 U 대역의 주파수가 분배된 후, WRC-07을 통하여 HAPS 운용을 위한 기술적, 규정적 연구 내용의 결과가 검토되고, HAPS를 게이트웨이로 이용하기 위한 주파수 공유 연구 관련 WRC-11 신규 의제가 도출되기까지의 HAPS 표준개발 동향을 살펴보고자 한다. 지금까지 고고도 통신 관련 WRC 의제 및 결의서에 따라서 HAPS와 고정업무 및 고정위성업무와의 공유 연구 결과를 포함하는 많은 권고서가 개발되었으며, WRC 회의를 통하여 그 결과가 검토되었다. 본 고에서는 HAPS 관련 WRC-07 회의 주요 결과와 권고서의 주요 내용을 살펴보고 향후 추진되어질 WRC-11 의제 1.20의 내용을 분석하고자 한다.

A Study on Antibacteria of Hydroxyapatite Filter (하이드록시아파타이트 필터의 항균성에 관한 연구)

  • A hydroxyapatite air filter was made with hydroxyapatite powder, water and chitosan solution. The structures of the sintered HAp samples were determined by MP-XRD. Hydroxyapatite has antibacteria properties against Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli. The bacteria removal rate was 99.9%. In the case of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Colon bacterium and Listeria monocytogenes, the hydroxyapatite air filters had a clear zone which confirmed antibacteria properties. Using the microscopy, we observed that the HAp powder absorbed E. coli bacteria.
