물류관리 시스템 선정을 위한 다기준 의사결정 (The Selection of a Material Handling Systems using Multi-Attribute Decision Making)

  • The Purpose of this paper is to describe and demonstrate a quantitative procedure for evaluating alternative material handling systems that are being considered for possible purchase. The procedure considers both quantitative factors(i.e. costs) and qualitative factors(i.e. equipment productivity) that should be considered in the evaluation process. Since these factors are not always quantifiable it is necessary that the procedure be able to quantify all factors in commensurable units. This is accomplished via a modification of the Brown and Gibson model for facility site location and selection. The model was demonstrated via a case example that encompassed the derivation of performance measures for three material handling systems.

Cross-Project Pooling of Defects for Handling Class Imbalance

  • Applying predictive analytics to predict software defects has improved the overall quality and decreased maintenance costs. Many supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms have been used for defect prediction on publicly available datasets. Most of these datasets suffer from an imbalance in the output classes. We study the impact of class imbalance in the defect datasets on the efficiency of the defect prediction model and propose a CPP method for handling imbalances in the dataset. The performance of the methods is evaluated using measures like Matthew's Correlation Coefficient (MCC), Recall, and Accuracy measures. The proposed sampling technique shows significant improvement in the efficiency of the classifier in predicting defects.

A New Emergency-Handling Mechanism based on IEEE 802.15.4 for Health-Monitoring Applications

  • The recent advances in wireless communication systems and semiconductor technologies are paving the way for new applications over wireless sensor networks. Health-monitoring application (HMA) is one such emerging technology that is focused on sensing and reporting human vital signs through the communication network comprising sensor devices in the vicinity of the human body. The sensed vital signs can be divided into two categories based on the importance and the frequency of occurrence: occasional emergency signs and regular normal signs. The occasional emergency signs are critical, so they have to be delivered by the specified deadlines, whereas the regular normal signs are non-critical and are only required to be delivered with best effort. Handling the occasional emergency sign is one of the most important attributes in HMA because a human life may depend on correct handling of the situation. That is why the underlying network protocol suite for HMA should ensure that the emergency signs will be reported in a timely manner. However, HMA based on IEEE 802.15.4 might not be able to do so owing to the lack of an appropriate emergency-handling mechanism. Hence, in this paper, we propose a new emergency-handling mechanism to reduce the emergency reporting delay in IEEE 802.15.4 through the modified superframe structure. A fraction of an inactive period is modified into three new periods called the emergency reporting period, emergency beacon period, and emergency transmission period, which are used opportunistically only for immediate emergency reporting and reliable data transmission. Extensive simulation is performed to evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme. The results reveal that the proposed scheme achieves improved latency and higher emergency packets delivery ratio compared with the conventional IEEE 802.15.4 MAC.

  • During demonstrations of a process conditioning spent nuclear fuels, it may be necessary to transport and handle Spent fuel road cuts from Post Irradiation Examination facility to Slitting device in The hot cell. It may be not easy to transport spent fuel rod cuts because rod cuts are high radioactive materials. For this purpose, we have developed a capsule for transporting and handling high radioactive materials. We have analyzed conditions of a hot cell and requirements of the device, designed and manufactured The prototype of the device, and done some performance tests. From the tests, it has been shown that transportation and handling without scattering nuclear material was smooth but the weight of capsule was heavy. These result will be reflected to a design of the improved transportation and handling device which will be used during demonstrations.

  • Adhesives are becoming increasingly accepted for advanced engineering/boding tasks. Therefore the understanding of the basic principles and the benefits of elastic bonding and structural bonding respectively is of utmost importance. Structural bonding means adhesive performance in load-bearing environments. Furthermore. the time to achieve handling strength has an impact on the economics of an assembly line. The paper gives briefly a summary about the fundamentals of elastic bonding and discusses different adhesive systems in the context of handling strength. Hereby the focus lies on the Warm Melt Technology, and its potential is compared to standard adhesives (l-part, 2-part and Booster Technology, a special 2-C system).   • 위험지역에서의 작업을 위하여 전세계적으로 원격조작기가 널리 활용되고 있다. 특히 원격 시스템의 경우, 운영되는 환경의 특징상 안정적인 성능이 담보되어야만 하며, 조작기 몸체의 경량화 및 운용환경 외부에서의 유지보수 편리성을 위하여 구동부를 시스템의 기저부에 집중시킬 수 있는 장력구동방식 메커니즘이 주로 활용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 장력구동 방식 원격조작기에 적용하기 위한 그리퍼 탄성 구동부의 설계를 위해 시도된 접근법을 소개하고자 한다. 제시된 그리퍼 시스템은 기본적으로 스프링 메커니즘에 기반을 둔 4 절 링크형 구조를 가지고 있으며 마스터 조작자에 의해 동작되는 슬레이브 조작기의 말단부에 결합되는 구조를 가진다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 조작기의 요구사항에 맞는 그리퍼의 파지력 및 복원력을 재현하기 위하여 그리퍼 상에서의 적정 스프링 결합위치 및 요구강성과 그에 따른 운동학적 영향계수 등을 분석 및 고찰하였다. 최종적으로는 이러한 분석내용들을 바탕으로, 실제 그리퍼 시스템에 적용함으로써 타당성을 검증하였다.

보병용 배낭의 휴대 및 이동 성능에 관한 연구 (A study of the Infantry Backpack System for Portability and Mobility Performance)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 보병용 휴대 배낭 설계를 위하여 인체공학적인 물자취급 중량을 검토하여 휴대 및 이동성능에 기초한 한계하중을 분석하는데있다. 제품설계시 인체공학적 설계가이드라인과 운용현황을 조사분석하여 효율적인 운용성능을 위한 기초자료로 제공하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 인력물자취급시 역사적 관점에서 생리학적 연구방법, 생체역학적 연구방법, 인체심리학적 연구방법들을 검토하여 보병용 휴대배낭의 휴대성 및 이동성을 분석하였다. 휴대성과 이동성 간의 관계를 분석한 결과, 단거리의 짧은 기동거리에서는 생체역학적 기준치를, 1-2시간의 중간인 이동에서는 인체심리학적 기준치를, 4시간 혹은 그 이상의 장거리에서는 생리학적 기준치를 적용하여 각각의 가이드라인들을 상호 절충하는 것이 필요한 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구에서는 보병의 물자취급시 4가지 연구방법을 제안하였다. 이러한 기존의 설계 가이드라인을 분석한 결과, 병사의 인체사이즈 측면에서는 5%tile의 경우 -091kg으로 여유중량이 부족하지만, 95%tile에서는 34.17kg까지 여유중량이 발생하는 것으로 판단된다. 이러한 연구결과는 물자취급시 편하고, 효율적인 운용성능을 창출하기 위해서 휴대중량과 이동거리에 따라 여유중량을 관리해야 할 것으로 판단된다.

컨테이너 터미널의 고층 장치시스템 개발방안 (A Study on High Stacking System Development at Container Terminal)

  • 본 연구는 초대형컨테이너선 기항에 대비한 차세대 항만하역기술로 고층 장치시스템 개발을 다루고 있다. 고층 장치시스템은 한정된 부지내에서 처리능력을 극대화시킬 수 있는 시스템으로 기존의 컨테이너 터미널이 안고 있는 장치장 부족문제룰 일시에 해결할 수 있으며, 고성능 및 자동화가 가능하여 터미널의 하역생산성을 높일 수 있는 대안으로 평가된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 고층 장치시스템을 적용한 터미널의 설계개념도를 작성해 보았으며 시뮬레이션 기법을 이용하여 고층 장치시스템을 도입한 전용터미널의 하역능력을 분석해 보았다. 연구결과는 차후 실제 터미널 운영을 위한 기본 설계 및 상세설계의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있으며, 본 연구에서 제시하는 고층 장치시스템은 향후 기존 터미널 및 신규 터미널 개발에 적용하여 항만의 부가가치를 더욱 향상시키는 원동력이 될 것으로 본다.

EXTREME DRIVING CHARACTERISTICS ESTIMATION FOR ESP-EQUIPPED PASSENGER CAR

  • As the vehicle becomes bigger and faster, the importance of vehicle stability in an extreme driving condition caused by sudden steering, road condition or unexpected case has been emphasized. The ESP system is being utilized to improve the handling performance and the vehicle stability. In this study, we implemented various tests and proposed estimation methods for ESP characteristics in extreme driving situations. The estimation methods for ESP proposed in this paper are expected to facilitate developing the control logic and improving the performance of the ESP system.

비행제어법칙 설계 및 해석 절차에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Control Law Design and Analysis Process)

  • An advanced method of Relaxed Static Stability (RSS) is utilized for improving the aerodynamic performance of modem version supersonic jet fighter aircraft. The flight control system utilizes RSS criteria in both longitudinal and lateral-directional axes to achieve performance enhancements and improve stability. Standard CLDA (Control Law Design and Analysis) process is provided that reduce the development period of the flight control system. In addition, if this process is employed in developing flight control laws, it reduces the trial and error development and verification of control laws. This paper details the design process of developing a flight control law for the RSS aircraft, utilizing military specifications, linear and nonlinea, analysis using XMATH and ATLAS(Aircraft, Tim Linear and Simulation), handling quality tests using the HQS (Handling Quality Simulator), and real flight test results to verify aircraft dynamic flight responses.
