FRP 복합재료의 온도변화 및 제작인자별 비선형 전단거동 조사 (An Investigation on the Nonlinear Shear Behavior of FRP Composites Considering Temperature Variation and Fabricating Parameters)

  • 복합재료의 경우 다양한 재료에 따라 제작이 가능하며 이들 완성재료의 경우 다양한 재료특성을 나타낸다. 이 연구는 건설용 FRP복합재료의 재료특성 중 선형거동이 뚜렷이 나타나는 인장, 압축과는 달리 비선형 거동이 발생되는 전단거동 특성에 대한 실험적 연구로서 ASTM D4255 규정에 의한 2-Rail 전단시험 방법을 토대로 각각의 시편들을 제작, 실험결과를 분석하였다. 고려된 실험변수로는 함침 수지류의 종류와 섬유 체적비, 섬유배열 방향 및 온도 특성, 공장용 생산제품의 균질성 등을 고려하였다. 섬유배열 방향에 따른 특성조사의 경우 섬유 배열방향을 $0^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$, $60^{\circ}$로 각각 시편을 제작하였으며, 온도에 따른 외부환경 변화에 의한 FRP재료의 전단거동을 조사하기 위하여 실험온도를 $25^{\circ}C$, $40^{\circ}C$, $60^{\circ}C$, $80^{\circ}C$로 각각 고려하여 시험을 수행하였다. 이 연구를 통하여 대부분의 복합재료 시편에서 비선형 전단거동이 확인되었으며 비닐에스테르수지를 사용하고, 높은 섬유체적비와 $45^{\circ}$의 섬유배열방향을 가진 시편에서 비선형 전단거동이 가장 두드러지게 나타나는 것으로 조사되었다. 온도변화에 따른 실험결과의 경우, 온도가 증가함에 따라 전단 내 비선형 거동의 감소가 나타났으며 공장용 제작제품의 경우 hand lay-up 제작시편에 비하여 비선형 전단거동이 비교적 동등하게 나타냈다.

센서-구조 일체형 복합재료 구조물 제작 방법 (Manufacturing Method for Sensor-Structure Integrated Composite Structure)

  • 본 연구는 복합재료 구조물에 전기-기계 변환 기능을 융합한 센서-구조 일체형 복합재료 구조물 제작 방법에 관한 것으로 복합재료 구조물 자체가 센서 역할을 수행할 수 있도록 하여 구조 스스로 충격이나 진동 신호를 감지하고 손상 위치 또는 손상 정도를 실시간으로 모니터링 할 수 있는 다기능 복합 구조물에 관한 연구이다. 복합재 구조물에 전기-기계 변환 기능을 부여하기 위해 복합재 제작에 사용되는 에폭시 수지 대신 전기-기계 변환기능을 갖는 $Pb(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-Pb(Zr,\;Ti)O_2$ (PNN-PZT) 분말과 에폭시 수지를 1:30 wt% 혼합하여 제작된 스마트 수지를 사용하였다. Hand Lay-up 공법과, VARTM(Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding) 성형 방법을 이용하여 유리섬유에 스마트 수지를 함침시켜 센서-구조 일체형 복합재료 구조물을 제작하였다. 구조물을 센서로 사용하기위해 시편의 윗면과 아랫면에 전도성 도료를 사용하여 전극을 제작하였고, 고전압 앰프를 이용하여 상온에서 30분간 4kV/mm의 전계로 분극 처리를 수행하였다. 이후 충격망치를 사용하여 시편에 충격을 가했을 때 출력되는 전기 신호와 충격망치 신호를 비교하여 충격 신호 감응 및 감도를 측정하고 그 결과를 기술하였다.

대구경 콘크리트 충전 복합소재 파일의 휨-압축 거동에 대한 실험적 분석 (Experimental Analysis of Large Size Concrete-Filled Glass Fiber Reinforced Composite Piles Subjected to the Flexural Compression)

  • 복합소재는 화학적, 역학적인 면에서 여러 장점을 가지고 있다. 피로 저항성과 화학적 저항성이 높을 뿐 아니라, 비강도, 비강성 등이 높아서 높은 감쇠 특성을 보인다. 항만 구조물에 사용되는 파일은 압축 뿐만 아니라 휨을 받기도 하므로 이에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 본 연구는 대구경을 포함하는 콘크리트 충전 유리섬유 복합소재 파일의 압축 거동 혹은 휨-압축 거동을 분석한다. 지름 및 길이가 서로 다른 25개의 실험 파일을 제작하는데, 시편의 복합소재 튜브 내경은 165 mm에서 600 mm에 이르고, 길이는 1,350 mm에서 8,000 mm에 이른다. 수적층 및 필라멘트 와인딩 성형 공법을 모두 사용하여 튜브를 제작하여 적층의 구조가 미치는 차이를 알아보았다. 충전 콘크리트의 강도로는 27 MPa과 40 MPa를 사용하였다. 축방향 및 원주방향의 섬유의 부피비에 변화를 주어 각각의 영향을 분석하였고, 일부 시편에는 나선형 홈을 튜브 안쪽에 성형하여 충전 콘크리트와 튜브 사이의 전단변형을 줄이는데 기여할 수 있는지 분석하였다. 실험결과를 보면, 직포만을 사용하여 수적층 성형 공법으로 파일을 제작하는 것보다 필라멘트 와인딩 성형 공법을 이용하여 제작하는 것이 휨강성을 높이는데 훨씬 유리하다. 나선형 홈을 성형해서 넣더라고 휨강성은 낮은 하중단계에서 부터 지속적으로 감소하는 경향을 보이는 것으로 보아, 충전 콘크리트와 튜브 사이의 전단변형을 완전히 억제하지는 못하는 것으로 판단된다.

베벨 및 튤립 트리거를 갖는 유리섬유 복합소재 튜브의 에너지 흡수특성 평가 (Investigation of Energy Absorption Property of Glass/Epoxy Composite Tubes with Bevel and Tulip Triggers)

  • Energy absorption capabilities and failure modes of circular tubes made of glass/epoxy with two trigger mechanisms were evaluated. Three types of glass/epoxy tubes were fabricated using a hand lay-up method with unidirectional and woven fabric prepregs tapes, and a filament winding method. The one end of the fabricated tubes was machined for the bevel trigger and tulip trigger. Then, crush tests were conducted at 10 mm/min loading speed, wherein the glass/epoxy tubes were crushed by a brittle fracturing mode combined with fragmentation and lamina-splaying modes. The UD glass/epoxy tubes with a bevel trigger and the filament winded tubes with a tulip trigger showed the maximum and minimum specific energy absorptions, respectively, with a difference of 9.3%. The tube with a tulip trigger exhibited a maximum reduction of 5.7% in the initial peak load; the tube with a bevel trigger showed a maximum increase of 2.9% in the specific energy absorption.

평판형 압전 복합재료 작동기의 작동 변위에 미치는 인가전압 및 구동주파수의 영향 (Influence of Applied Electric Fields and Drive Frequencies on The Actuating Displacement of a Plate-type Piezoelectric Composite Actuator)

  • The actuating performance test of plate-type piezoelectric composite actuators having different lay-up sequences was experimentally carried out at simply supported and fixed-free boundary conditions. The actuating displacement of manufactured plate-type piezoelectric composite actuator (PCA) was measured using a non-contact laser displacement measurement system. Our results revealed that the actuating displacement with increasing applied electric field at a drive frequency of 1Hz increased non-linearly at the simply supported boundary condition whereas it almost linearly increased at the fixed-free boundary condition. On the other hand, the actuating displacement of piezoelectric composite actuator depended on the applied electric field in a drive frequency range from 1Hz to 10Hz, but its behavior was different in higher drive frequencies beyond 15Hz due to the occurrence of resonance. On the basis of the above experimental results, the bending characteristics of PCAs revealed different behavior depending on applied electric fields, drive frequencies as well as boundary conditions. Therefore, by investigating drive frequencies together with applied electric fields, actuating performance can be easily controlled and PCAs which were fabricated for this study will be sufficiently applied to pumping devices.

저변형률시험법에 의한 섬유강화 복합재료의 응력부식균열에 관한 연구 (A Study on Stress Corrosion Cracking of Fiber Reinforced Composite by Slow Strain Rate Test)

  • This paper was investigation of the stres corrosion cracking(SCC) mechanism and the properties of corrosion fracture surface of glass fiber reinforced plastics(GFRP) produced by hand lay up(HLU) method in synthetic sea water. Test material is GFRP, that was used vinylester type epoxy acrylate resin and an unsaturated polyester as the matrix and the chopped strand mat(CSM) type E-glss fiber as the reinforcement. The slow strain rate test(SSRT) was performed on dry, wet and saturated wet specimens in sea water. Here the pH concentration of synthetic sea water was 8.2 and the strain rate is 1 x $10^{-6}$($sec^{-1}$) and test temperature ranges varied from $-60^{\circ}C$ to $80^{\circ}C$. It could be confirmed the fact that wet specimens tested at a particular test temperature ranges were appeared the eviences of SCC such as con-planar, mirror and hackle zone. Moreover, SCC of GFRP in sea water was characterised by falt fracture surfaces with only small amounts of fiber pull-out, in partial.

삼차원 유리직물 강화 비닐에스테르 복합재의 기계적 특성 (Mechanical Properties of Three-dimensional Glass Fabric-reinforced Vinyl Ester Matrix Composites)

  • 본 연구에서는 수직섬유의 길이가 서로 다른 삼차원 유리직물을 보강재로 사용하고, 매트릭스 수지로 비스페놀 타입 비닐 에스테르 (bisphenol type vinyl ester)를 사용하여 hand lay-up을 이용해 복합재료 (3D composites)를 제조하였다. 삼차원 유리직물의 수직섬유의 길이가 복합재료의 기계적 물성에 미치는 영향을 three-point bending test, flatwise compression test를 통해 조사하였다. Short-beam test법 통하여 복합재료에서의 섬유와 매트릭스 수지간의 계면접착강도를 나타내는 층간 전단강도를 구하였다. 시험 결과를 통하여 수직섬유의 길이가 복합재료의 기계적 물성 및 층간 전단강도에 많은 영향을 미침을 알 수 있었다.

Effect of fibre loading and treatment on porosity and water absorption correlated with tensile behaviour of oil palm empty fruit bunch fibre reinforced composites

  • The challenge of replacing conventional plastics with biodegradable composite materials has attracted much attention in product design, particularly in the tensile-related areas of application. In this study, fibres extracted from oil palm empty fruit bunch (EFB) were treated and utilized in reinforcing polyester matrix by hand lay-up technique. The effect of fibre loading and combined influence of alkali and silane treatments on porosity and water absorption parameters, and its correlation with the tensile behaviour of composites was analyzed. The results showed that tensile strength decreased whilst modulus of elasticity, water absorption and porosity parameters increased with increasing fibre loading. The composites of treated oil palm EFB fibre exhibited improved values of 2.47 MPa to 3.78 MPa for tensile strength; 1.75 MPa to 2.04 MPa for modulus of elasticity; 3.43% to 1.68% for porosity and 3.51% to 3.12% for water absorption at respective 10 wt.% fibre loadings. A correlation between porosity and water absorption with tensile behavior of composites of oil palm EFB fibre and positive effect of fibre treatment was established, which clearly demonstrate a connection between processing and physical properties with tensile behavior of fibre composites. Accordingly, a further exploitation of economic significance of oil palm EFB fibres composites in areas of low-to-medium tensile strength application is inferred.

한국(韓國) 연근해어선(沿近海漁船)에 대(對)한 전개가능곡면(展開可能曲面) 선형(船型)의 응용(應用) (An Application of the Developable Hull Surface to Korean Inshore Fishing Boats)

  • The Korea inshore fishing boats are the size up to 30G.T., and their construction commonly employs the traditional wide wooden planking. Nevertheless, the hull forms have been developed with chine-type straight-framed sections which give developable surface party, but not on the whole: especially not on the whole portion of the hull are preferable for them. Considering many merits in the boat construction, the author, excluding cases of the FRP construction by hand lay-up or spray-up method and of the ferro-cement construction, finds out no reasons to depart from the chine-type hull forms of a developable surface in future development of their hull forms, too. In this report, the author proposed new designs of the developable hull surface for four typical boats forming the main structure of Korean inshore fishing fleets; 5G.T.-class multi-purpose boat, 10G.T.-class angling and longlining boat, 20G.T.-class drift and gill netters, and 27G.T.-class stow netters, and presented the tank test results on their propulsion resistance. The tank test had two purposes; one is to present the powering schedule of the new designs and the other to investigate the resistance characteristics of this kinds of boat in comparision with those of equivalent round-type boats at operational speed ranges. Between the both types of the boat no material differences in powering are expected. Hence, the author is confident of that saving in the construction cost of the developable hull over that of the round-type boat may result in considerable contribution to the over-all boat economy.

부정기선 운임율의 결정에 관한 이론적 고찰 (A Study on the Determination of Tramp Freight Rates)

  • The aim of this paper is to analyze the mechanics of price formation in the tramp shipping. For the purpose of this study, the main characteristics of tramp freight rates and the market is examined, and a brief examination of the nature ofthe costs of operation is given which are essential for the understanding of the functioning of shipping firms as well as for the understanding of developments in the tramp freight market. The demand and supply relationships in the market is also analysed in detail. Tramp shipping is an industry that has a market which functions under conditions that are not dissimilar to the theoretical model of perfect competition. However, it does notmean that tramp shipping market is a perfectly competitive market. It is apparent that this realworld competitive system has its imperfections, which means that the market for tramp shipping is near to being a perfectly competitive market on an internaitonal scale and it is freight are therefore subjext to the laws of supply and demand. In theory, the minimum freight rate in the short term is that at which the lowest cost vessels will lay-up in preference to operating, and is equal to the variable costs minus lay-up costs; and this would imply that in all times except those of full employment for ships there is a tendency for newer low-cost, and, probably, faster vessels to be driving the older high-cost vessels in the breaker's yards. In this case, shipowners may be reluctant to lay-up their ships becasue of obligations to crews, or because they would lose credibility with shippers or financiers, or simply because of lost prestige. Mainly, however, the decision is made on strictly economic grounds. When, for example, the total operating costs minus the likely freight earnings are greater than the cost of taking the ship out of service, maintaining it, and recommissioning it, then a ship may be considered for laying-up; shipowners will, in other words, run the ships at freight earnings below operating costs by as much as the cost of laying them up. As described above, the freight rates fixed on the tramp shipping market are subject to the laws of supply and demand. In other words, the basic properties of supply and demand are of significance so far as price or rate fluctuations in the tramp freight market are concerned. In connection with the same of the demand for tramp shipping services, the following points should be brone in mind: (a) That the magnitude of demand for sea transport of dry cargoes in general and for tramp shipping services in particular is increasing in the long run. (b) That owning to external factors, the demand for tramp shipping services is capable of varying sharphy at a given going of time. (c) The demad for the industry's services tends to be price inelastic in the short run. On the other hand the demand for the services offered by the individual shipping firm tends as a rule to be infinitely price elastic. In the meantime, the properties of the supply of the tramp shipping facilities are that it cannot expand or contract in the short run. Also, that in the long run there is a time-lag between entrepreneurs' decision to expand their fleets and the actual time of delivery of the new vessels. Thus, supply is inelastic and not capable of responding to demand and price changes at a given period of time. In conclusion, it can be safely stated that short-run changes in freight rates are a direct result of variations in the magnitude of demand for tramp shipping facilities, whilest the average level of freight rates is brought down to relatively low levels over prolonged periods of time.
